dolce vita cafe is hands down one of my favorite breakfast places in brighton! their breakfast sandwiches are simple, but with the freshest ingredients that you can really taste the difference. their beverages are also all delicious -- i'm a big fan of their strawberry smoothie and raspberry iced latte. rumor has it that all of their flavored lattes aren't premade syrups! this is a very popular place for neighborhood residents to study in peace. it's a calm cafe with good energy and wonderful staff that really make the experience! read more

I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. They had tons of options: breakfast sandwiches, cold sandwiches, paninis, salads, and pastries and a lot of drink options, too. They have pretty much every flavor of iced coffee that you can imagine. I settled on a small (16 oz) iced coffee with almond milk and pumpkin, and a tuna panini. I had the option of getting either a bag of chips or a banana with it, and I went with the banana. The panini was great-- hot, made with quality ingredients, and properly seasoned. Simple but very good. The iced coffee was fine. I expected it to be sweet because of the pumpkin, but it was more like a flavor than an added sweetener. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The inside of the cafe looks like it could use an update; it's a little dated and looks kind of worn. However, the food and the service are wonderful, and I would definitely recommend stopping by. read more

I so love small neighborhood business. My son took me for breakfast here. He told me they opened around 2011. It was his go to spot for his breakfast sandwiches. As you walk in, you notice how clean and bright it is a small space that sits around 10 people. Merelda the owner knew Matt by name and greeted him with a big hood morning! I ordered a everything bagel with egg and spicy sausage with cheese. The bagel was soft with a great chew. The perfect balance of poppy seeds, garlic and onions. The sausage was very similar to a local sausage in Hawaii known as Portuguese sausage. Pork with red pepper flakes. Very good! So happy my son introduced me to this wonderful family owned business. Really cute neighborhood place with nice staff and good food. Stopped in for a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel - which was very good - and coffee. The staff is super friendly, including a woman who I believe is the owner. Prices are decent, $18 for two bacon egg and cheeses and two medium coffees (one hot and one iced). The feel of a neighborhood place where the staff would get to know you is a definite part of the appeal, in addition to good food. Got a blueberry iced coffee that was really good! They have a bunch of unique flavors, and I'd guess they're all pretty good based on how good the blueberry flavor was. Would be interested in trying the other flavors they have. 10/10! I also got a sausage egg & cheese on a croissant, which was good and pretty big -- I'd come back here if I was in the area and wanted a breakfast sandwich. Although I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, it was a solid choice. Good if you live in the area though. I'd probably try the lox bagel next time I came! 7.7/10! It's hard to notice this place and how good the food can be. Surprisingly they make decent sandwiches and panini . Mostly residents around the area stop by here to do work and schoolwork on their laptop. The staff there was very nice and pleasant. The turkey panini with their mayo pesto sauce was amazing and it comes with a bag of chip or fruits of your choice. It's a good place to a quick bite and doesn't break your wallet. read more

Craving some coffee, I waltzed into this cafe because of the reviews and it's proximity to my new apartment. Boy, am I glad I did. This place is so popular that there was a line outside the door. They have many different food and drink options. I have heard that their paninis are great, but I did not have any food. I will say the prices for them are great at roughly $8 per sandwich. I had a double espresso ($3.54). Even though it was busy, I was served very promptly once I placed the order in. The espresso was delicious and creamy. Even though Brighton is known to consist of primarily college students, the crowd I observed appeared older. I am 30 and felt among the younger people at the cafe. I would guess the ages ranged from 25 to 45. This could be a good place if you live nearby and want a break from the college students. I hope to come back again soon and try some of the paninis or baked goods. I will certainly provide an update when this happens. read more

Dolce Vita is a great neighborhood spot that gets packed with people eating in and taking out on weekends. You might not be able to tell from the exterior, but the food here is delicious! They have amazing breakfast sandwiches that you can get on bagels, croissants, English muffins, or bread, and a wide selection of paninis and sandwiches. Prices aren't too bad, either. I've gotten the sausage, egg, and cheese ($5.30) and the breakfast special (prosciutto, tomato, provolone, egg) ($5.60) both on an everything bagel. Unlike breakfast sandwiches from other places, the meat is folded into the egg kind of like an omelette, which makes it easy to eat and also delicious. As someone who loves prosciutto l, the breakfast special is my favorite! The sausage is really good, too! It's not your typical breakfast sausage - it's actually pieces of sliced spicy sausage. Delicious! I've also gotten the turkey cranberry panini ($6.50): turkey, cranberry sauce, caramelized onion, herb mayo, and spinach. I had to try this one because I love thanksgiving flavors. The herbed mayo is delicious and really ties it all together. Like I said, this place gets packed (for good reason) so I recommend calling in your order ahead of time. Since it's so popular, sometimes you still have to wait once you get there but it's worth it! read more

YUM! I found this cafe a week ago after looking for iced coffee that has flavor brewed into it opposed to a sugary syrup and I am glad I did. They have plenty of iced coffee flavors and friendly staff members who greet you upon arrival. My friend and I got breakfast sandwiches and coffee and the sandwiches come with essentially an omelet inside which was great to see. I would warn customers that the sausage, egg, and cheese is not breakfast sausage but instead a spicy Italian like sausage. Unfortunately I was hoping for breakfast sausage so I was sad to see that this isn't what I had wanted. Aside from this mishap, I think the coffee and service is great and I would definitely go out of my way to come back here for the coffee. read more

I. Love. Dolce. Vita. I used to go here often enough when I lived in Brighton. The owner is the sweetest woman ever and the staff are kind as well. The sandwich options are great, their bagels are good and the coffee flavours are creative. They are a family run business as far as I'm aware and definitely worth supporting. First timer here. Absolutely love this place. Very fairly priced and also the lady was super nice. I don't usually tip when I order to-go food at cafes but since she was so friendly I felt like I wanted to add some tip and I did! I was surprised by the hospitality. It's pretty rare to see it around here (I mean New England overall). I will be moving to a place 15 mins walking away from the cafe so I'm definitely coming back. Dropped by to grab bacon egg cheese bagel and coffee before heading to our car. Was pleasantly surprised when I opened up the box to see the hearty looking breakfast. It was what a breakfast should be, simple yet satisfying. Loved how they wrapped my bacon in the omelette and that they cut the bacon into half for easy consumption ( you will be surprised some places don't do that). Really cute place but very low quality food & coffee. We were staying at a hotel up the street and this place is right across from where the train picks up so we stopped for some breakfast sandwhiches. We got 2 coffees and 2 breakfast sandwhiches on bagels. The eggs on the sandwhiches were over cooked, the bagel was greasy. & as a whole the sandwhiches were just plain unflavorful. Had to get a pound of the potato salad and a chicken soup. Nothing was a disappoint. Did I mention the lg pickle you get accommodating each sandwich. There is some seating and although there might be other places with visual pleasure; cleanliness here would be hard to beat.

The atmosphere is so nostalgic and warming from the moment you step inside, like a true classic neighborhood diner. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly making the experience all the more welcoming. And when it comes to the food itself, it's like a nice big hug to seal the deal. The flavors are tasty and satisfying without being anything over the top. Also, their many has a wide variety of options ranging from familiar diner foods to some unique Jewish specials that you can't find just anywhere. This place is great for a casual bite to eat for really any meal (plus they serve breakfast all day)! I'll definitely be back to try their breakfast too, but I must say their lunch/dinner foods also don't disappoint: the latkes and matzo ball soup are a must!!

Or the Exodus old window locations closed and the airstream camper location in alley is the new temporary place to order from. But I was tipped off by a bagel buying enthusiast when I was looking in the closed window location puzzled why I didn't see any people or bagels . The nice enthusiast told me that the pick up location is around the corner in a different new alley ... confused still but as Columbo the detective would do... I saw people walking from many directions to the new alley at 8:10 am. I followed the crowd to where others were already in the alley for the ordering process at the airstream trailer ... I was reminded of cousin Eddie in the Christmas movie with Chevy Chase and his camper trailer . The guy in the trailer looked like a horse bookie taking bets with his note pad and credit card machine... he may have been one of the owners after I researched later on website . I ordered a garlic Asiago bagel with butter and a salt bagel with veggie cream cheese. Then I was instructed to stand in alley and wait for my order . The bagel worker bees I then saw them come out of another building door with the bags of bagels and hand out to the experienced bagel buyers who intelligently order ahead . But the wait was quick and the worker bees scurry in and out of the door with the bags. There no tables or an area to eat in the alley . There was No inside coffee selections or Starbucks couches to lounge on eating your bagel sipping the latte to Italian music? I understand this is temporary as old space being renovated? I had my bagels both toasted and were perfect shade of toast . These were excellent different type bagels and not a brick dough filled type that becomes rock hard . The texture of bagel was more of a crunch chew in a good way. The garlic Asiago was a real deal flavor and thus would be excellent for a BLT or tuna or chicken salad for a sandwich , this would be winner chicken sandwich dinner . The salt bagel had a strong salt flavor again in a good way with the veggie cream cheese. The veggie cream cheese needed more veggies in it, but it did the trick to tame my bagel itch. Excellent bagels and the treasure hunt experience to find them was worth it. Clearly by the line of people and congregation of people from differ directions...they have a devoted following... reminded me of a Facebook announcement of a new iPhone release and people sleeping overnight to be first in line . Now, what is their secret of how or what they do to get the crunch texture but remain airy and not doughy? In summary: a great bagel and I need more .

Our favorites were the Gruyère monkey pull apart bread (similar to the Gruyère croissant but a bit bigger) and we loved it so much we literally dug every piece out from the little cardboard bowl it comes in. A close second was their weekly special the Muhaamura feta croissant which was delectable-- I had never thought of putting Muhaamura in a croissant but damn does it work! It also went so well with the Gruyère it was truly a combo made in heaven. Both are also super light and won't make you feel super heavy after! We also got some sweet options including the chocolate chunk cookie and walnut morning bun which were super solid, but out of the sweet items the olive oil cake was our favorite. It is SUPER dense but truly the perfect dessert to have with tea in the afternoon-- I will definitely think about bringing this next time I'm visiting someone's house! It's not too sweet but flavored so well. Overall this place is soooo worth the wait--- definitely check it out!

Upon arrival, I was told that blueberry bagels are not offered every day and are only available on Thursdays. I returned the following Thursday, but the experience was very different. I got blueberry, poppy, and a few other bagels to take home. Unfortunately, all of them were absolutely disappointing. They tasted extremely off and very different from the blueberry bagel I had previously. At home, my family ate about half of what we purchased, but none of us had any desire to finish the rest. Overall, the experience was unpleasant, and the bagels were not enjoyable at all. The blueberry bagel from my first visit looked and tasted amazing and was completely different in quality from what I received on my second visit. On top of that, the person behind the counter seemed careless with hygiene, touching the screen, bagels, and other surfaces without any apparent attention to cleanliness. It felt like a completely different place compared to my first visit just a couple of weeks earlier. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed.
