    Turtle Sundae

Authentic neighborhood spot with great portions and prices. Turtle sundae was amazing but honestly anything here is delicious, especially the swirls and sundaes. Service was fast, no nonsense delicious ice cream, fudge, and nuts ready in under a minute. Support a true local spot and get a much better treat and deal than any chain out here!

Delicious, friendly, cheap and quick. What more could you want? This is by far one of if not the best ice cream spot I've had in Pittsburgh all things considered. The portions are large for the prices and the ice cream is so smooth, I had a hard time stopping to breathe. Old-school decor is a blast from the past and you can see right inside the windows as the staff makes the delicious treats. I'd imagine they've been open for a long time and I can absolutely see why.

Swissvale Dari Delite is just that-- a delight. The food is very reasonably priced (and delicious), the staff are all friendly, and the wait is never too long. It is the perfect spot to hit up on a sunny day. I know I'll be back!

A perfect little neighborhood ice cream stand--nostalgic in the best way, but with way more variety than you'd expect. Prices are fair, portions are generous, and the service is always sweet. They've got all the classics, plus tons of customizable options, specialty sundaes like the "Donut Delite," and even some food choices too. There are non-dairy options, including sorbet and soy/no sugar ice cream--which is the inclusivity you'd hope to see in 2025, and pup cups for the doggos. Bonus: they take cards and Apple Pay, so no cash-only panic at the window. Easily one of the best little summer spots in the area.

The best staff! So polite and accommodating. Love the neighborhood feel, plenty of seating to sit and enjoy your sweet street. Parking is very accessible as well! I am never disappointed with my treat! I have enjoyed the sundae, and the vanilla milk shake! Although, the strawberry banana milkshake has become the family favorite! Also, the most perfect pup cup for my sweet dog! Can't wait to visit again during this summer season!

Fantastic new addition to Swissvale! This place just opened last month so my wife and I had to go try it out on a sweltering summer day. The shop is really cute and has an old-school look and feel to it compared to the rest of the shops along Monongahela Ave (vibrant colors!). Service is quick and very friendly and the prices are super reasonable. They have a small bench right near the shopfront and a couple picnic tables around the back with umbrellas. Not a ton of seating but enough for this location. I got a milkshake with peanut butter and vanilla (the person who helped me kindly mixed the flavors since I was dithering between the two). My wife got a Swissvale Swirl (basically a blizzard) with oreo chunks. We really enjoyed them both and will definitely come back!

Really glad we stopped here for a springtime treat! This place feels like a hidden gem. The menu is somewhat limited but has all the soft serve shop essentials and a little more. Prices are very reasonable, portions are generous, and the woman working was super friendly. I was thrilled that they have a dairy free soy ice cream option, which was very tasty! Slightly less creamy than regular ice cream, but a very good texture. The flavor was vanilla and quite sweet. Can't wait to return to try their blended ice cream 'blizzards'.

Neighborhood gem for cold treats! (Also hot dogs.) Menu is varied, including sundaes, cones, and ice cream with mix ins ("Swissvale swirls"). Prices are super fair. Staff is quick. And there's a cute gravel-covered back patio with tables and umbrellas where you can sit to eat. Love the colorful mural and the pink flamingoes, too!

So tonight I was able to sample a nice portion of the Godfather. I loved it. Cornbread in the bottom of the bowl was great, the chili was tasty, a little fresh lime, jalapeños and spices. I would highly recommend. I spent too much time walking around and seeing what all was there and by the time I went back to get dinner from them, they were closed. I did arrive to the event late as traffic was horrendous. I will seek them out and order from them.

Since it's a food truck, there's not too much to say about it although it was a little different from the usual ones since it was pulled along behind a truck but other than that, looked like the usual one. There was a single worker in the truck and he was wearing a mask. By the time we got to the front of the line they were out of both the classic chili and the spicy chili and so the only chili options were chicken and vegetarian. For dinner on this evening I decided to go with the chicken con chili and my wife did as well. Within a couple minutes of ordering my wife and I had our bowls and were headed home. Our bowls consisted of a bed a rice, the chili, sour cream, cheese, lime and cilantro. Whenever I first tasted it I was surprised but pleased at how spicy it was since the menu didn't mention it. Beyond the heat it had a good flavor to it and I appreciated the cooling effect that the sour cream had on it. While I was initially concerned about the size of the bowl, thinking that it was small, I had to admit that I was full by the time I was done eating it. My wife also ended up enjoying her chili as well. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our meals and I would certainly be interested in trying their spicy beef.

With the variety of stores and plenty of free parking, it's become one of my favorite areas to go out when visiting Pittsburgh. Burgatory has a full bar and some daily specials, which can add some value depending on which day of the week you visit. We started off with the truffled gorgonzola fries (3.25/5). While the fries were decent, the gorgonzola cheese was a bit too strong for our tastes, so would likely ask for them without the gorgonzola next time. I got their smashburger (3.75/5), which was filling and of decent quality, but the patties themselves weren't the most flavorful. The house chips (2.5/5) that came with the meals were quite underwhelming, and it stinks that they don't have an option to sub them out for regular fries or onion rings. There's definitely a missed opportunity to not even offer an alternative option for a small upcharge, as we were told no substitutions were allowed. Service (4.5/5) was attentive and friendly throughout the meal, and Shane checked in on us several times to ask if we needed anything else. I would rate the food an overall 3.5/5, and since Yelp doesn't allow 1/2 stars, don't mind rounding up in support of a small local chain and thanks to the great service. I would return to try out some of their other menu items and would recommend Burgatory to others looking to try out a local option for burgers in the Pittsburgh area. Hopefully, they will recognize the missed opportunity to allow customers to sub out their house chips for alternative sides in the future.

People must love it here. The tables are cozy and feel like a high-ish end Italian restaurant. The menu seems like it doesn't know what it wants to be. There's $30 steak dinners, but also wings and burgers. It's $6 to add chicken to an already $13+ salad, which was weird. We ended up just getting apps. The zucchini strips were good, but they didn't come with marinara sauce. It was some sort of aioli? And the chicken tenders were more breading than chicken. And through this whole bizarre dining experience, they had Iron Chef on the tv at the bar, which seemed like a bold choice. Service was excellent. We only waited about a half hour for food despite it being quite busy. Marinara was brought out promptly upon request. So not a bad experience. Not at all. Just... unexpected. Will I go back? Probably not. But I definitely wouldn't dissuade anyone from giving it a try if it sounds like your jam. It might be a good place to have a nice evening out if you have kids or the people in your party have very different tastes. And the music was good. Younger than I would have expected based on the ambiance. I'm pretty sure they played a whole Bleachers album
