Water was entering my basement walls..it was a mess. He came as soon as he could. Cut into the wall and fixed the pipe. Explained that there was a pipe behind the wall for a washer/dryer--the previous owner never documented this or explained it to me (it's a very strange, rear-of-the-house mudroom that was an add-on.) For the second visit, I had a sewage back up. He came and diagnosed it, and fixed it by cleaning up the sewer line under the street. Apparently, my home piping is pretty sturdy and modern, but the pipes under the street are old and thin. So I have to be careful what gets flushed down my toilet. Yet another thing the prior owner didn't inform me of, and I had to learn at a cost to paying Ray from Streamline to fix. At least he was reasonable! I will definitely hire him again. In fact, I'm planning to contact him this weekend about a new water heater.

Sean informed me that he was licensed and insured and would be able to work on my plumbing sewer line problem. He informed me to send him a deposit for half payment of $1,500 so he can begin on the work. I initially sent him $500 and then he insisted that he would start the work but needed the remaining balance of $1000 for materials and to pay his workers. I normally would not have sent the remaining balance if not for the fact he came from a recommendation to do the work. After I sent him the money ($1500) I asked to meet with him at the job location at 9am so that we can go over the specifics of the work. He ensured me that he was on his way but after two hours of waiting and no calls or show I called him back and text to no avail. I tried reaching him all day and did not hear back. After several attempts he finally blocked my number, and all calls went directly to voicemail. I tried calling from a different number but no answer as well. Sean is dishonest and he lied to me and stole my money; moreover, he not only did this to me but to the person who referred him. I just want my money back and hope I can stop someone else from doing business with him or his company. His company is said to be licensed and insured PA -135195 which is also a lie because I called to verify the license and none exists. I received a call at 7:50 that they would be there in 10 mins. I let me tenant know, and she advised that she was home and would be waiting for them. At 8:25 am I received a call back from JFK Plumbing & Heating saying that they knocked three times and that no one answered, so they left. I said, "I'm the landlord, and you didn't try to call me when after 3 knocks no one answered?" The plumber said he was getting all kinds of calls for other jobs so he couldn't stick around. I asked my tenant what happened and she said it was the strangest thing. The plumbing van pulled up, she even went over to the door after no one approached the house, and then opened the door as the van pulled away. My summation is that a more lucrative job came on the horizon (as mine was only a leaky toilet) and they decided the juice wasn't worth the squeeze, pivoted, and took off. Regardless, the lack of professionalism, subpar efforts to communicate, and failure to consider how scheduling an appointment a week out and then bailing after 3 (largely contested) knocks, is just poor customer service. I wouldn't put my faith in them again, especially, as the plumber said if "all kinds of other jobs are coming in" I got deprioritized and you might too. Proceed with caution.

Two employees from Turners Bros. Plumbing arrived at 0900 (as scheduled) and were on-site until the…read morejob was completed at 0940. The ballpark price quoted for the job over the phone - the removal of an old garbage disposal and installation of a new garbage disposal, and the installation of a exterior hose bib - was $125 for the visit plus labor and it was suggested at that time by the Turner Bros. representative that the total cost for the job would likely be about $200. After the actual job was completed I was told by the one employee, Mike, that the realized price for the job was $375. When I questioned this and mentioned the quoted price, noting how drastically far apart the realized price was from the quoted price, the employee simply said that he was only the messenger. When I told him I did not have any checks and would need to get more cash in order to pay I also asked at that time for an itemized bill, indicating that I would not submit payment without some sort of a bill and guarantee that my payment as cash was properly received. He told me that he could come back for the cash and that he would have his office send me a bill within the hour, taking down my email address for the invoice to be sent to. About 45 minutes later I attempted to call the main office for Turner Bros. multiple times, unable to reach anyone. I wanted to verify the price and that an invoice was being sent over. Eventually I was able to speak with the employee whom had completed the job (Mike) and he told me that he spoke with his boss and was able to get the price reduced to $250. While I told him this would likely be 'ok' I also told him I still wanted to speak directly with his boss at which time he conferenced me in with his boss, Michael Turner. I explained the situation to Michael and he told me that typically they charge $125 as a base visit fee plus $190/hour per worker and that two workers are always sent on a job. This was information not told to us when we originally scheduled the appointment - we were only told the charge would be $125 for the visit 'plus labor'. Michael Turner noted that his other employee Brian 'must have quoted us a different price and the problem is Brian isn't around today'. I questioned why the quote given to us over the telephone wasn't memorialized and how could such drastically different quotes be given by his employees. After further conversation of a similar nature, Michael agreed to settle on the originally quoted price of $200. His employee Mike returned to the house and collected $200 cash as payment in full for the work completed after I was e-mailed an updated copy of the new invoice. The new invoice did not itemize time, labor or standard costs, and did not even include my full first name, but simply stated "Installed homeowners garbage disposal" (we had purchased ahead of time) and "Installed homeowners hose drought" (which we had also purchased ahead of time) with a total of "$200" listed to the right. A response was sent to Michael Turner via the pay2go website from which the invoice was sent indicating the invoice had been paid in full in cash. At the end of our phone conversationMichael informed me that "if we charged these prices there we would be out of business." As a local business owner myself, I know that if I had a member of my sales staff who was unaware of our base rates and was also radically misquoting customers, I could imagine that our business might not be around for much longer, either. While the workers were amiable and quick to the job, I do not recommend Turner Bros. Plumbing.

It is very possible that many of these yelp reviews are from family and friends or paid third party. Be very careful who you let in your home. ALWAYS ask for their detailed paperwork and match it up with their driver's license if you have to. Whatever it takes because there is A LOT of fraud out here nowadays.
