They have their own pond here

Sycamore Valley Park is a huge, gorgeous park that's ideal for family picnics. Lots of clean grassy fields with plenty of shade from all those ginormous trees. You don't even need to bring a tent! Over the years I always drive by this park on the way to Blackhawk Plaza or Similan Thai Restaurant. Once you pull into the parking lot, you'll quickly realize how massive the park is. Key Highlights of the Park * Two large playgrounds for kids. The surface is soft and foamy, like a gigantic playmat, LOL. * Multiple Bocce Ball courts * A BBQ grill area and regular picnic tables * A pond with a fountain! Great background for photos * Several soccer and baseball fields and open meadow

We have a lot of great parks in San Ramon and Danville, but this is one of my son's favorites.

This is another great Bay Area park with lots of different options for kids to play, shade, a path down to a fountain, and also bocce ball courts and baseball fields for older kids and adults. I love bringing my son here and having a picnic. Parking is shared with the school next door, so if you get there or leave when there is school traffic, put on your patience cap.

Play structure for bigger kids

I have a 3 year old and 6 month old so it's nice to find a great park like this.. Here's what I appreciate about the park: - bathrooms (great for those with newly potty trained little ones) - two play structures.. One for older kids and the other for younger kids - plenty of trees surrounding playground for perimeter shade (not so much on the playground) - water feature for hot days - plenty of parking Side note: There's a man-made pond with picnic tables/benches around that you can walk to from the playground. There's also bocce courts.

Upper fields view to hillside

One thing Danville San Ramon did was think smart back in the late 70s early 80's anticipating a housing boom...they set aside enough land for parks, jogging/biking trails, soccer fields and little league fields. These towns are full of them. Sycamore is a great park with outdoor bocce ball, children's playground, little league and both grass and turf fields. The upper fields looks up to the hillsides with cows grazing, (I kept thinking of Carne Asada or Filet Mignon every time I looked up at them) a nice breeze seemed to blow up there occasionally. On the opposite side it looks down on the lower fields. The two are divided by lovely healthy looking trees which gave some shade relief on the upper fields. It was almost immaculate with upkeep, no trash, clean sidewalks etc etc. VERY well maintained. Bocce Ball courts were pristine, the soccer grass fields were well groomed and the little field was spotless. The only reason why I giving it a 4 star is because of the turf fields and lack of places to escape and chill. Danville is hot and that means if you are near the lower fields it smells like you are at a burning tire junk yard. Just gross. Also there just wasn't enough shade on the lower turf fields. Stinking hot with no breeze plus the burning tire smells is no Bueno.

This park is great for birthday parties. They have BBQ grills everywhere. It's clean and it has great view and friendly crowd.

Really sizeable, spacious park that has lots of fields to host sporting events. There's a small…read moreamphitheater, skate park, events center, and until it is the location of local government offices. I'm not just reviewing this place on a recent, pleasant dog walk (which is a great place to do and they have doggie fountains here as well). No... my roots go way deeper here. Growing up in the area before there was the large Target and City Lot nearby, before the local government offices, this park is where me and a close knit group of friends would go every night. We weren't causing any trouble. We just didn't really have anywhere else to go, but we all looked forward to hanging out most nights, especially during the summers. We would skate in the parking lot or possible play basketball (they had a few full courts where the offices are built now). At one point a few of my friends worked with the city to help design and build out the skate park (I see there names on the plaque to this day in late 2025). I remember my friends putting on and being part of small music fests that was held in the amphitheater area. I even remember working some events held at the event building on the south side of the park. Just a great park with lots of parking, events schedules, and just every day things to do. Lot of personal memories as well.
