Today is cloudy . We stoped by the Sycamore Valley Park and was impressed by how beautiful it is . It has nice landscaping with trails that lead to different area of the park. We did not go further in to the hiking area . Plenty of car parks . Public restrooms with supplies are near by the children playground . Lots of pickle tables and BBQ grilled . This is a great location for a birthday party or friends gathering. A little further down are the beautiful fountain and a heart shaped pond . Lovely plantations and trees are omit . A few chairs . Perfect spot for photo shoots for groups or for small family. It is going to have more sun the next few days . I could imagine how beautiful this park would be with sunshine and blue sky ! read more

What a lovely surprise. We came to the park for the best part was the trail behind it. There are a number of black cows roaming the area and eating grass. A whole family of cows greeted us at the gate. There were cute baby cows too. After the cows finally left the gate entrance, we opened it and walked into the trail. It was pretty steep going uphill but once you got up the hill, the views were beautiful and reminded me of Dorset England. I just saw a documentary about Dorset and this looks just like it. Rolling green hills and valleys. With the blue skies, it was so peaceful. It's not a crowded place so we really enjoyed the peace of it. Lots of families with children hike here. It's such a safe place to get fresh air and exercise. We will definitely come back for another hike and lunch afterwards. read more

Sycamore Valley Park is a huge, gorgeous park that's ideal for family picnics. Lots of clean grassy fields with plenty of shade from all those ginormous trees. You don't even need to bring a tent! Over the years I always drive by this park on the way to Blackhawk Plaza or Similan Thai Restaurant. Once you pull into the parking lot, you'll quickly realize how massive the park is. Cute little park! Yes, it has a little of everything: lovely fountain, grass area, picnic benches, BBQ grill, and kiddie playground with a soft surface. However, most of the acreage is soccer fields (2 of them?), followed by a little league baseball field. There is a hiking trail on the back side...for another time. Really nice and popular local park. There is a large parking lot, so you never have to worry about finding a space here. My friend and I did a large loop here for a light, morning workout and loved this trail! The first part does not have any shade, but on the way back down, there are more trees and greenery. No parking fees, park also has various sports fields and amenities there as well besides the hiking trails. This trail can be pretty busy even on weekday mornings, so I would imagine weekends can be pretty busy here as well. This would be a great introductory hike for beginners or children - only a few initial hills on the main loop and the rest of the trail is flat. In the Summer, it gets a little barren and brown. The top has great views of the valley as well as a nice view of Mount Diablo in the distance. Would definitely recommend for a good outdoor workout. read more

This lovely park is only a 2 minute drive and it's got everything you need. It's got a beautiful pond for photos, expansive lawns for picnics and even full blown birthday parties with rentals. The children's play area is quite nice with one for tots and one for 5 and up. On hot days there's also the water play! Bring waterproof shoes and a change of clothes! BEAUTIFUL family friendly park with water, bocce ball, playgrounds, soccer, baseball and so much picnic green space. But SO many wasps all in the grass. This place is absolutely beautiful and relaxing..... it's nice to see the kids playing soccer, playing baseball kids just playing. There's also an area for elderly adults to play their role ball game. A lot of families barbecuing just enjoy life, different race, different ages, different backgrounds, no judgment. read more

This park playground is unsafe during the pandemic. There are large numbers of parents unmasked along with their unmasked children. These same parents are socializing and not supervising their children. Their children and the parents are disrespectfully disregarding the health safety of the portion wearing masks and telling people to leave if they don't like it. When Danville police are called with complaints they arrive and interact without safe health distance completely unmasked. read more

This is a big community park on the way to Blackhawk. And it works well in a lot of ways. It looks like Baseball Central; lots of ballfields. Soccer could work, too; actually, there may be a soccer field or two there. There's a junior high school across the parking lot, so I'm sure they give it a lot of use for these sports. Kids? Upper-scale playground, complete with a squirter. Close by is a pond with several bridges and trails. Note that there's not a lot of shade here - yet. The trees are more mature now, so you can get some shade. Give them 10 more years and there will be even more shady spots. I've been here in two scenarios. During my eternal bachelor years, I'd get to Zion Fellowship a little early and mosey around the park a little before Saturday night worship. Then I got married, and not long ago I took my squirt to the playground, and she had lots of fun there. Now, for the more active set . . . walk to the extreme back, and there's a fire road that goes up the hills. Quite steep, little shade, no water fountains or potties. Went here with the kids the other day for variety. It is a little out of our way (but no worse than Osage). The park is a nice size and includes sport fields, bocce, pond, trails, and a water feature. It has some unique play structures including a climbing wall and some things that spin. Nicer play structure than Osage and Osage does not have a water feature. However, it has a lot less shade than Osage and no flower gardens. I do not recommend playing on the things that spin around when it is close to 90 outside. I was sick to my stomach the rest of the day and I usually have good tolerance for that sort of activity. The water feature is cute, but definitely not on par with the one at Hap Magee. Still, this park seems to have all bases covered. read more

This is another great Bay Area park with lots of different options for kids to play, shade, a path down to a fountain, and also bocce ball courts and baseball fields for older kids and adults. I love bringing my son here and having a picnic. Parking is shared with the school next door, so if you get there or leave when there is school traffic, put on your patience cap. read more

I have a 3 year old and 6 month old so it's nice to find a great park like this.. Here's what I appreciate about the park: - bathrooms (great for those with newly potty trained little ones) - two play structures.. One for older kids and the other for younger kids - plenty of trees surrounding playground for perimeter shade (not so much on the playground) - water feature for hot days - plenty of parking Side note: There's a man-made pond with picnic tables/benches around that you can walk to from the playground. In a town full of GREAT parks, this is definitely one of the standouts. There is so much to do here...a large playground with areas for various age ranges, a bocce court (for the elderly), a grassy field with a pond, and a HUGE synthetic turf multipurpose field for soccer games, baseball, field hockey, etc. On the north side of the park is a launching point for a pretty nice system of trails that roam the adjacent hills. My boys always find someone their age to play with, whether it be a friend from school or someone new. The park benches are always full of lovely Danville moms with their Starbucks cups, yoga pants, and smartphones. Facilities are always clean and safe and parking is usually available, except during busy events on the athletic fields. Go grab a latte and check it out! read more

Very nice upscale park with awesome bocce courts. The courts are maintained extremely well and they were the best courts I've played on which includes Campo Di Bocce. And they are lit up at night and free! Our group needed 4 of them and it costs $70 to hold them for our group. But they had 8 courts and only one was being used. Need to bring your own. One thing Danville San Ramon did was think smart back in the late 70s early 80's anticipating a housing boom...they set aside enough land for parks, jogging/biking trails, soccer fields and little league fields. These towns are full of them. Sycamore is a great park with outdoor bocce ball, children's playground, little league and both grass and turf fields. The upper fields looks up to the hillsides with cows grazing, (I kept thinking of Carne Asada or Filet Mignon every time I looked up at them) a nice breeze seemed to blow up there occasionally. On the opposite side it looks down on the lower fields. The two are divided by lovely healthy looking trees which gave some shade relief on the upper fields. It was almost immaculate with upkeep, no trash, clean sidewalks etc etc. VERY well maintained. Bocce Ball courts were pristine, the soccer grass fields were well groomed and the little field was spotless. The only reason why I giving it a 4 star is because of the turf fields and lack of places to escape and chill. Danville is hot and that means if you are near the lower fields it smells like you are at a burning tire junk yard. Just gross. Also there just wasn't enough shade on the lower turf fields. Stinking hot with no breeze plus the burning tire smells is no Bueno. read more

This place does not have water! It does not have a lot of shade on the park equipment so it too hot for kids to play on. There are parts with construction cones. They only have one water fountain that is on the other side of the bathroom and is not visible to the park. read more

Safe and clean park that we go to once a week. Great for children ages 1-14yrs old. Bocce. Gorgeous water fountain, walking path... picnic tables. New play structure. The park is always clean and well maintained by the town's staff. Water feature for the kids is awesome in the summer/warm months. Sandbox is centrally located. Plenty of easy free parking. We LOVE Sycamore Valley Park. My kids even call it, "our park". It's a huge, beautifully maintained park with everything you could want/need. It has baseball fields, bocci ball lanes, BBQ area, a beautiful pond/water fountain area, huge grassy fields to run/play/relax, nice pathways where the kids can ride, or in our case, learn to ride their bikes and of course an awesome play ground. The playground is huge and has two big separate structures, swings, a sand box, tons of ride on toys and the coolest part? The SPRAY GROUND area! The water feature alone makes this park so totally awesome for the under 10 set. Additionally, the bathrooms are clean, the parking is ample and close and there are a lot of places for weary parents to sit down. Great park!! read more

I'm a big fan of this park! It has a fantastic play area for kids that is great for toddlers and older kids. There are tons of things to spin around on, bounce on, climb on, slide down, etc. There's a big sand pit in the middle, and there's a water park area too! There are bocce ball courts, a nicely spread out picnic area, and tons of paved paths winding through the gigantic grassy area beyond the playground. Lots of trees, lots of space. There's a huge parking lot but it is shared with the school in the same lot, so please drive slow and be careful of the kiddos! read more

I like! I really like! This whole summer break, I've been meaning to take my son to this park, but was always too lazy to make the drive. It really isn't that far, but driving to any park in 100 degree weather can make any place seem miles and miles away. Great play structures. Great space, you don't feel like you're intruding into other people's spaces. Great scenery. I've decided to have my son's birthday party here, even if it may be a little chilly for an outdoor gathering. The park will be worth it. read more

A nice park!!! I would have preferred a bit more open space, and some tennis courts, but not all parks can have everything. The bocce courts that are here well kept and played with a little bit of character. Not perfect, but not unplayable. a mini faucet by the bocce courts would be nice to wash off some of the oyster shells. read more

This is a very nice, beautiful and clean park. We had a little family picnic here and we really enjoyed ourselves. There is a baseball field and a pond which we couldn't find but didn't make a large attempt to find it either. A small picnic with the family and enjoyed the beautiful day. I wasn't sure where the public restrooms were as we didn't find it but it would have been nice to see some signs for the restroom area more prevalent if there was one. read more

Went here for my brother's soccer game and it's kept up very well by maintenance. The tables are clean and there isn't garbage laying around. The turf fields are exceptionally soft, which is better for athletes' knees and ankles. If its a warm day, be prepared with some sunscreen because the heat reflects off of the field! If it gets too hot for you, there's plenty of shade near the benches. It's also located in a safe area. read more

As the Duke I'd be remiss not to endorse. There are lots of things for kids to do and even the older ones don't seem to get bored. There's also plenty of grass nearby if the kids want to throw a baseball or football or frisbee. Diablo Valley and Osage provide tough competition, but it's hard to top Sycamore for variety. read more

There is ample parking, many mature trees that provide shade, modern play structures, well maintained park, clean restrooms and lots of friendly folks. The picnic area adjacent to the Bocce courts is ideal for a BBQ in the park. There are LARGE BBQ grills there and lots of picnic benches. This is one of our favorite parks. They have clean play structures, sand area, a little water play and lots of long bike paths. Well maintained. Parking is sufficient and has a bocce ball court. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that they allow dogs in the kids play area. I dont mind people walking their dogs around the park...but inside the kid's area, it should be a no-no. read more

We absolutely love this park! I have 2 boys and they can't get enough of it. The only thing I would say is that there are a lot of high drop offs on the big kid part of the park. Like near the monkey bars or fireman pole. My 4 year old did take a fall (without tears) from one of them and the other drop offs make me nervous. But as long as you're watching closely it's great! There's also tons of grassy area for picnics or kicking a ball around. read more

Spent an evening here recently with my German Shepherd, Bear, who has recently recovered from surgery. Fantastic park, immaculately cared for, great little fountain and lots of comfy places to relax. Really good community park nearby the post office. Highly recommend for families, those of us with dogs, and anyone looking to just lounge out on a nice summer day. read more

Beautiful park, 2 premium basketball courts, 3 basic basketball courts, 2 turf soccer fields, 1 grass (if there is a complaint it is about the length of grass and amount of potholes in the grass soccer field.). Great walking paths and fresh air! Lots of parking and it's free of course! read more
