TLDR: Rude/uncompromising owner, shady business practices - will partially complete a job and force you to figure out the rest I had blown my tire out on the highway and needed to get a replacement. I decided that I would get 4 new tires. I was in the Lanham area and gave this place a try, in case I saw 4 good used tires. After talking with the owner, I decided to buy 4 new. All seemed to be well - so I walked away and let them work on my car. When I came back, only 3 of the tires were on and the owner showed me that I had a damaged rim. He stated that he does not put tires on damaged rims, which is understandable, but he did not have a rim to sell me. That was no problem, and he showed me a website to buy one from, so I did. I asked him when I could come back to get the rim and tire put back on - and it's at this point that things deteriorated. The rim was going to be shipped to me in 3 days. Yet he then told me that he was going out of town for a week, and the whole shop would be closed until August 31st upon his return. This was a bad situation for me because nobody should be riding around on a donut for a week. I had to then pay another shop to put the tire and rim on once the rim arrived. He should have told me before putting the first 3 tires on that he did not have a rim in stock, and he should have also told me from the beginning that he was going out of town for a week and the entire shop closes when he does not work. This isn't the worst part, however. I came back today and asked if he could take the sensor from my old rim and put it on my new rim, since the new rim I purchased (that he advised me to purchase, from a website that he also advised) did not have the sensor. He told me that I would have to pay for this service, which to me was completely unacceptable since it was his absence that required me to get somebody else to put the tire on in the first place. When I balked at this and told him that he should offer to do it free of charge since it was his absence that caused me the inconvenience (and keep in mind that he didn't tell me he was going on vacation until he had finished putting on the other 3 tires), he told me to go somewhere and take the tire off, then put the donut back on, then come back to him and he will put the sensor on. This didn't make sense to me, since this is supposed to be a tire shop and he could do all of this quite easily. When I balked at this offer he told me "You can keep talking. I'm finished talking with you." This is awfully rude. Further, this shop doesn't offer better prices on new tires. He sells the "Hercules" brand, and you can get the same quality elsewhere along with better service. The other tire shops likely will have rims to sell you, too, in case you find yourself in my situation and have a bad rim. Otherwise, he will do part of the job and then tell you to fend for yourself. He should have just told me from the beginning that he was going out of town and could only partially complete the job. I had a terrible tire. It could have popped at any time and bought a new tire with a 2 year warranty and flat tire repair. I always enjoy getting used tires from this store however I bought a new one this time. It is great when your budget is low to shop here because the new and used ties are very affordable. Most affordable I have ever seen. They were very kind and loving. Kingly I would say! Fast service as well. I even had an appt once at work and stopped by to get a fast tire replacement; they stopped everything to get me in and out as fast as possible. Great service! read more

I will NEVER buy USED TIRES AGAIN!!!! My husband and i got a flat tire while picking up our baby from the sitter. We discovered we also had TREADS showing on another tire. I googled used tires near me and THE TIRE STORE popped up. I called the shop and spoke with the owner Sydney. He told me that for my size tire, buying used was a waste of time and for a few extra bucks we could get two new tires. We headed over to the shop which wasnt too far from our home. Sydney schooled us on DOT manufacturer dates imbedded into the tires. He told us that all tires come with these dates are printed on all tires. Turns out my tires were NINE YEARS OLD!!!!!! i couldnt believe it. I appreciate Sydney for educating us about the ages of tires. We have been wasting money far too long on older tires. I will NEVER buy a used tire again from ANYWHERE ELSE. Thanks again Sydney! read more

As an Uber/Lyft Driver, my vehicle is my income. So when I have a problem, I must get it resolved quickly. I awoke to a flat tire, filled it with air, and it went flat again in 30 minutes. I went to The Tire Store to find out the problem. They found a nail, sealed the tire from the inside (a technique I never saw before), and got me on the road in 20 minutes. Prompt, reliable quality service is what I give as a driver, and it's what I expect as a customer. The Tire Store exceeded my expectations. I expected to try to be sold another tire (or for them to find "other" issues), but none of that happened. I needed 4 new tires for ny Cadillac Escalade, and was pricing different tires at locations near my job. I stumbled across the Tire Store in Lanham. I called and left a message for Sidney. He called me back an hr later. While speaking with him, he explained to the the different levels of tires, the performance I should expect, etc. He even texted me a few brands he highly recommended, and wanted me to go online to do the research myself. This was an added bonus to me, because it showed that he genuinely cared about the quality of my ride, as well as took his business serious. I stopped by that day around 2:30pm to place an order for my tires. Once again, he went over the the performance off the tires, ratings, and the quality I should expect. After our 20 minute discussion, I was confident I picked the right tires at the right place. Sidney ordered my tires that late after noon, I dropped my car off before 10 the next morning, and by 12 I was riding on 4 new tires that felt better than when I first purchased ny Escalade. I highly recommend the Tire Store and Sidney for all your Tire needs. I am now a permanent customer! read more

Fantastic service. I had a friend who got 4 new tires from here for her Acrua RDX in OCTOBER of 2015. I had kept a copy of her receipt for myself to get new tires soon because i have the same car and knew i needed tires soon. Fast forward 9 months to now, July 20, 2016....I called to get a price on new tires and referenced my friends price, and the owner didn't even need to see the old receipt to match it, he automatically matched the same price from months ago. I WAS SO HAPPY! For a small SUV, you cannot beat that price for 4 brand new tires! AND A 2 YEAR Road Side warranty! Sign me up! This is my 2nd visit to the tire store and again I am very pleased with my service. The 1st time I brought tires, but this time I had a slow leak in both of my rear tires. I got there at 5:15 and Sydney and his employees took good care of my car. I had nails and both tires. I was a bit press for time because I had to pick my baby up from daycare. It was a push but the got my tires patch and out of there to make it on time to the daycare. I recommended this place if you looking for honest and good service. read more

Drive past this place and find yourself a different tire shop down the street! The business owner is very arrogant, dishonest and rude. He reminds me of a mob boss that just doesn't care anything for his customers. The sign outside the shop states "$40 for used tires for trucks." One of the workers went in the back and got a faded tire and told me that was the best they had. I then told him well I don't want it. So then he supposedly went searching again and luckily found a much better used tire. The owner then stated "it's $50 for that one." I said, well your sign says $40 for used tires. He said okay. When it was time to pay, this guy charged my card $50. I told him I never agreed on $50 and that's contrary to what your sign says. He said he doesn't care much for used tires customers and that he is changing his shop to all new tires and that he wouldn't be needing my business anymore. I was shocked any business man with any kind of common sense would speak as such. He was so arrogant, rude and dishonest. I wasn't going to argue with him, we'll see who gets the last laugh because the charge will be negated by my credit card company. But I should have known better, because a friend of mine told me before how he sold them the wrong size "new" tires for their car just so that he can make a sale. read more
