They brought an appetizer plate with mozzarella in carozza which was not good and fried triangle shaped overcooked capellini. It must be their specialty. I didn't care for any of the appetizer items. I passed on ordering a dinner plate after trying the apps. I tried some spinach with garlic and that was excellent. The most disturbing part of the evening was the check. They bring it with a couple of things scribbled and not legible on it and the total. They have always included their tip with parties! My friend paid and assuming the tip was included and she is very generous she added another $100. She completed the check at the counter. Everything seemed fine. After some time back at her seat and not immediately the server came back to the seat and in front of the whole table he embarrassed her and came to ask her for more money saying they didn't get enough tip money. He said They need money to pay the staff! They usually add the tip but this time they didn't! Looking at the receipt which was not itemized at all, she had no idea what she paid for. Only a very expensive dinner. I feel like she got scammed with the entire experience as she was an elderly person trying to do something special for her anniversary. Caesar salads were excellent, the grilled calamari was a large portion of very tasty food, and everyone was very happy with their main courses: Veal Parmesan, grilled pork chops, Bronzino, chicken scarapiello.
