We returned to Sonoma in 2026 with a small group and booked another tour. Booking and communication was a breeze. Very good. Ends up the property I rented offered a wine passport and we were to receive a discount. I called to confirm and they let me know the driver would apply the discount when we paid him the day of the tour. All sounded wonderful and was very clearly communicated. The tour in 2026 only went to 3 wineries. Two were just ok and one was not good. I don't think anyone on our tour purchased anything here. The time at each winery was like a typical tasting with some information on their winery. But no real information on Sonoma and Napa and the history of the area. At the end our driver had no clue on our discount and kept telling me he would get in trouble for charging me less. He insinuated I was making it all up. In the end he did honor the discount but seemed he did it as a favor not that it was a program that Platypus participates in. All in all I was disappointed in this wine tour and would no go on a platypus tour again and would not recommend them. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Luckily all the people on our tour were delightful so that made for a nice day.

They start you off with complimentary bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar which was delicious! The tastings are affordable, with the Taste of Italy at $30, which is what we opted for. For the Taste of Italy, you choose 4 wines from a list of white and reds. We chose the 2024 Arneis, 2024 Gilia, 2025 Dolcetto Nouveau, and 2021 Teroldego. Buying 2 bottles of wine waives 1 tasting fee. The Dolcetto Nouveau is a chilled red, which I've never had before. Wasn't particularly a fan, but interesting to try nonetheless. We reserved our tasting but they do walk-ins, which we noticed were seated at the bar. So if you'd like your own table, I would make a reservation to be sure. The day we went, we did an indoor tasting because it was so cold, they didn't do any outdoor tastings. The outdoor courtyard is covered, and they have a large event space with some wine barrels that I presume is for wedding receptions. You can walk out to the fountain and vineyards and take pictures. We went in December so of course the vines were bare, but overall still beautiful and peaceful. There is an olive oil tasting room and various products for purchase. Overall worth a visit for the scenery!

The friend that took us here mentioned how she likes that you never feel rushed. I see why people purchase wine club memberships now. As a Pendulum wine club member she gets wine pick ups, discounts, and unlimited tastings with three guests. The setting is beautiful! So many flowers. Nicely shaded picnic benches with umbrellas. They have a large fish pond and it's 25 cents for a cup of fish food to feed the turtles and koi. This is one of the most family friendly wineries I've seen. Many people bring their kids. They have corn holes too. Fancy and Pudding were the highlight! I reached out and felt like a Disney princess having one of them come to me for pets. The restrooms were very clean as well! It was fun browsing the store too. And of course the tasting and charcuterie board were a fantastic experience. I loved the cheeses and almonds they had. We had the option of deviating from the tasting menu. But everything we tasted was great! I think you can also bring your own snacks. It's a great winery experience. We drove through the country side and through a beautiful park. Then we toured the town of Sonoma. Next Jesse made us amazing reservations for our wine tasting. We had a gorgeous view and took our time tasting several wines. Finally we took a drive through the actual vineyards with some great photo ops. Jesse could not have been nicer or a better guide. I did a lot of things while in the bay area/wine country and I have to say this was by far my favorite. Five stars all the way!!!
