During our trip through NH in mid-October 2022, we stayed at several hotels, motels, and B&B's. Squire was less expensive than all of them but delivered a friendly, clean, and comfortable place to eat and relax at half about half the price of the other lodgings. Note that they don't take online bookings. Instead, you have to call their desk, which was fine by me. The only complaint I had could be chalked up to user error -- the heater was a bit too powerful for the room size. Highly recommended.

This spot was perfect for everything that we wanted to do! The Inn is fairly small- probably around 9 or 10 rooms. The hotel was pretty empty during our stay so we were upgraded to a room overlooking the lawn which was great. I can't say enough about the property. It's nestled in the hills and is just so serene. There's a small stream nearby and if we didn't have so much to explore I could have spent hours laying on the hammock on the back lawn. The inside is equally impressive - it's got a very preppy feel and I felt like I was in a Polo ad. There are lots of cozy sitting areas, fireplaces and shelves filled with books and games. The actual guest room is spacious and the bed is comfy. It's an older hotel but you can tell there were updates. The AC works well and the shower has good pressure. Because of covid there is no daily room cleaning. There is also normally a bar and restaurant onsite but it's not open because of covid. But there is still a daily breakfast for guests included in the stay. Breakfast is sit down service every day from 8-9 and comes with eggs, fruit salad, an English muffin and a meat plus coffee and juice. Always delicious and filling! Staff is also friendly. We had the same server for breakfast every morning and she was very sweet. We also saw the innkeeper Doug around periodically and he was always super friendly and helpful. The rate is reasonable and the location is great. Your about a ten minute drive from Franconia notch / echo lake / cannon mt and around a half hour from mt Washington. You can find lots of food and breweries ten minutes north in Littleton or twenty minutes south in Lincoln. We will stay here again without hesitation and I truly think it would be a beautiful and enjoyable visit during all seasons.

Don't be misinformed by the old website which is soon to be updated. The Hunt Room menu is comprehensive American Cuisine. The daily specials are a must. The portions are good. The lounge has great atmosphere, music, a well stocked bar, friendly service, free wifi (a big plus for the area) and big screen television. The area also has some of the best Alpine and Nordic skiing around. My wife and I have been there twice in as many weeks and we expect to make it a regular venue for the ski season.

It's not a bed and breakfast because there is no breakfast even though there is a fully stocked kitchen where anyone can make anything they like to eat. It's called a hostel for lack of a better word but it actually offers much more individual privacy, warmth, and recreation than any other hostel anywhere. It's not what you would expect in many unique and surprising ways. The cost is indisputably (ridiculously) cheap at $45 for the first person and $10 for each other one. What you get for that is astronomical! Please do not hold this review responsible for prices as this is what we paid and not necessarily what anyone else will pay (albeit probably close). There are some drawbacks like you have to put your own sheets on the beds and it's cold when you first walk in the door, and service is pretty much nonexistent, but we didn't miss it at all. The building has been around since 1830 when it was a coach house on a main stagecoach route from Boston to Montreal so it's got imperfections due to its advanced age (like nonsquared doorways and a few low beams). But we fell in love with it at first sight and, delightfully, the establishment doubles as the relatively unstaffed Vershire Community Library. It is packed with books! It turns out this is a non-profit, tax-exempt community organization that's a meeting place for local groups, a shop for items made ONLY in Vershire (by residents), a reading room (books supplied) and a place for Vershire residents to congregate, grow, and have fun. My nephew hangs out at this place with his friends and loves it. Give it a shot. I'm from Chicago, so I only stay here a few times a year, but I am gratified knowing that my meager room fees go to support community-building programs and not in the deep pockets of a hotel chain.

So you will need to use the grill which does have a burner. But we loved this and grilled every night! We would highly recommend this to a couple just looking for a romantic getaway. This is a glamping-campground experience and so wholesome and healing. Comfy bed, but with a nice tent and limited cell service, wifi if you need it, out in the woods, camping, nice clean bathrooms-but in a nice camper or clean portable bathroom and a simple clean shower attached to the outside of the camper. This is a nice experience to step away from the hustle and bustle of life. Really appreciated the owners and the great care they put into this place. They are the nicest people in the world.
