I booked a brow lamination appointment and told the technician before the service started that I did not want the underside of my brows waxed because I was trying to preserve new growth. The underside was waxed anyway. When I followed up, the owner explained that shaping is required with brow lamination and that avoiding the underside is not something they do because it does not meet their standards. My issue is that this was not explained to me before the service began. If my request could not be accommodated, I should have been told so I could decide whether to continue. I requested a refund, but it was denied because the service was completed and their policy says services are non-refundable. Overall, this was disappointing. For me, the issue was communication and feeling like a clear boundary I stated before the appointment was not honored. read more

Monique was very professional and friendly and made me feel comfortable from the second I walked in. I've had brow laminations done before, just not here. Unfortunately, I left with brows that looked messy, overly fluffy, and completely unstructured -- it did not resemble a proper lamination at all. Worse, the service left visible bald spots and gaps at the top and throughout my brows, which I did not have before. My brows were uneven and clearly mishandled. This is a chemical service, and the result looked botched. When I reached out to express my concern, the response was defensive and dismissive. I was refused any refund or credit and was made to feel as though my experience didn't matter, despite being unhappy with the outcome after seeing it in natural lighting. I did not pay to walk around embarrassed with damaged brows. I would not recommend this studio if you expect accountability or professionalism when something goes wrong. read more

I was searching for a local business focused on lash lift and eyebrow lamination and came across Symmetry Brows. They are located directly across from a hotel facing the Ontario Mills parking. It was a bit tricky to find, and you have to park in a Backlot next to a dental office and enter at the Vespertine Hair Studios. The front door to Vespertine is kind of caddy corner so I recommend parking in that Backlot, and looking for the dental office as your landmark. I saw Sage for the first time recently, and she was wonderful! Very sweet, easy to talk to, meticulous, conscientious, and communicated the process every step of the way. It was so relaxing, I found myself nodding off time to time during the approximately 1.5 hour process. I'm amazed that after my horrible experience here and leaving a review about a year ago, the policies seem to have stayed the same. Honestly what a joke! Booking people so close, back to back, that 5 minutes is considered a "grace period" Not reasonable, just greedy. 0/10 would not recommend. My issue isn't even with the girl who did my eyebrows, she was friendly and professional. I believe there just might have been miscommunication. I paid over $40 in hopes my eyebrows would be SYMMETRIC. I specifically went to this place because supposedly they do brow mapping. When I left my appointment, my eyebrows looked clean/even only because a concealer pencil was used underneath my brows. But when I got home and removed the concealer, my eyebrows did not look clean. Simply not worth the $40 I paid for. I actually paid $65 because I added a $10 tip and paid a little extra for the lux wax. I had to leave multiple messages before Sandy even called me back. I can't believe she's the manager because was rude and dismissive. She kept talking over me and making excuses as to why my brows turned out the way they did. According to her, I told the tech I wanted to keep my eyebrow as thick as possible which isn't true. I literally told the tech that my eyebrows are naturally thick, however I didn't want them too thick. I obviously prioritized symmetry over thickness, otherwise I would've gotten them done somewhere else. She tried to say that I mentioned I had been growing my brows out for a while (to justify why she kept them so thick). NO, I said I hadn't gotten them done in a while because every time I do, they're left uneven, so I didn't bother getting them done for a while. I don't care what the "notes" say. I actually told the tech that my eyebrows grow back pretty FAST. Like I said, maybe there was miscommunication. Either way, all I wanted was a refund for the $40 I paid that does not even reflect the work that was done. I asked MULTIPLE people, and was told by each person that it doesn't even look like I got my eyebrows done. FOURTY DOLLARS. I'm not even asking for the tip back or the extra $15 I spent for the facial massage. However, Sandy was like "oh no absolutely no refunds". I don't care what your policy is, have compassion and care a little bit more about customer satisfaction. She did offer for me to return to get them fixed, but why would I want to do that?? I lost all trust for this place. Especially with the way she was immediately defensive and dismissive during the phone call. She doesn't care about anything but money. She clearly needs the $40 more than I do so she can keep it. However, money hungry people like her should not be in business lol. Also, maybe they should not put concealer or whatever pencil they use, under brows before showing the final results. Definitely gave a false presentation of how my eyebrows really looked. read more
