I found this salon after my husband gifted me a spa gift card. I was 8 months pregnant and needed a little pick me up. After looking through the facebook and instagram photos I decided to book a balayage with Kelsey. She was so friendly, took her time and color corrected my orangy balayage from a previous salon. I got so many compliments! I even had other hair stylist compliment my hair color. 6 months later (baby life) it still looks great, but I'll def be seeing her soon for a refresh. Ps. I also got my eyebrows waxed, hated it, so I won't be doing that there anymore. read more

I visited Symmetry for the first time in January 23. I deliberately booked an appointment with a Junior stylist with the understanding I would get a better price. The price we agreed to was $42. When I left the salon I was charged $49. We just checked our records again. When I called to tell them of the discrepancy, there was a problem. I am approaching seventy and am on a fixed income. I realize the spiraling prices of womens' cuts but my income is not. I mentioned the Better Business Bureau to them and there was laughter all around. The stylists laugh at the customers. Is this a salon you want to patronize? The stylist was Olivia. I believe the proprietor is Kelly. The price now is $70. read more

I must say that as insane as I am about my hair looking perfect, this salon never lets me down. I've visited many salons over the years and my cuts were hit or miss, but symmetry leave me with a perfect cut every time. When my hair is styled and I leave the salon it looks great and remains manageable until the next scheduled appt. That is the sign of a quality cut! Very attractive and friendly atmosphere. Worst salon on the East Coast. I sat for over 4 hours for foil highlights and the stylist was not the slightest bit friendly or attentive. When I finally had enough I walked to the counter and asked to pay my bill for the inadequate service. Not even an apology. Terribly unprofessional staff. read more

My mom has been going to this Salon for years and i started going off and on a couple of years ago. I highly recommend Lindsay or Krissy (who colors and cuts my moms high each time she goes) My moms hair always looks like a movie star after Linsdays styled my moms hair. The first time i went Krissy was my hair stylist and i have stuck with her ever since. Do NOT go here for coloring. Absolutely horrible experience!!!! The staff is friendly, however my stylist lacked knowledge in coloring leaving me spotted dark, roots showing and about 10 different shades of orange. Not only did I get a bad dye job, I now have my hair breaking off due to damage from the foils. Sat there for 3 hours for foils, paid over $100 for orange hair that I now have to get fixed. read more

I came to Symmetry for a manicure and pedicure with my sister last week. The results of my manicure and pedicure were great, though I couldn't tell you the name of the woman who performed them because she didn't introduce herself to me. My sisters manicure on the other hand, was awful. The polish was lumpy and uneven. The woman doing my manicure checked her text messages mid-manicure and then disappeared to talk on her phone while the base coat dried, before she applied the top coat. As a service provider and business owner myself, I would be completely horrified if my staff acted this way. For $75 I would have expected a higher level of professionalism. read more

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I booked an apt. 2 month in advance for the holidays and when I drove all the way to the salon they realized they did not have time for me, they sent me home and my hair looked terrible for Christmas. I could not Get my hair done for Christmas time at all because everyone is booked for the holidays. How could a place do this? It's so rude and unprofessional, at least calL and say we realized we have other clients coming and can't do you this day, try and find another hair stylist quick. But it is very rude to cancel 3 days before Christmas especially when I have no time to book another appointment with anyone else. Very disappointed. Don't waste your time here please ! read more

The WORST ever. DO NOT GO HERE FOR COLORING! I left with about 10 shades of orange hair. I sat there for 3 hours just for foils. $115 plus tip for orange hair. The stylist was very friendly but not very educated at all on hair coloring. read more

I love my stylist, Lindsey. I discovered her about 5-6 years ago as a walk-in, and despite living in NYC and Los Angeles, have always traveled back to have her cut and color my hair (well, at least when I can - she is better than the stylists in LA by far). At this point, I feel really comfortable letting Lindsey make most of the decisions - I tell her the color range I'm looking for, or length, and she goes from there. I have been 100% happy with her services, and definitely recommend anyone looking for a good stylist to use her. I have course, curly hair and despite this, she can tame it and I always feel great when I leave. She has also recommended products that have done wonders. I really appreciate her services and recommend her to all. I have infrequently used Symmetry for other services (waxing, mani/pedis) and was satisfied with those results as well. read more

Lucky me, I had the opportunity to be told off by a receptionist! The receptionist (Wendy) is one of the nastiest people to have had the 'pleasure' of encountering. I tried explaining I did not want a cut, only color, she did not want to hear about it. Because of traffic, I was 15 minutes late where she upon raised her voice letting me know I was late. When she came back to the desk she proceeded yelling at me. One of the nastiest. I tried speaking with Kelly, Wendy advised she was a manager. How does a manager speak to a customer like that. I'm sure she is a "great asset" to that organization. Needless to say, I will never go back and will recommend to anyone it is not a nice place to go to! Not going there ever again! M read more

My experience for my first time here was beyond horrible. Besides being recommended to me by a friend of mine, it all went downhill with the lack of knowledgable stylist named Maggie I had. She was personally recommended by the owner and allegedly 'does amazing work!' Well I would like to see what work she has done because she was god awful. I came in with plenty of pictures and thoroughly voiced what I wanted. It must have been her first day on the floor because she had to stop what she was doing to constantly ask other ppl what to do. I understand if you have a quick question and want to ask your peers, but not for every aspect of the appointment. Throughout my time there I asked her if everything was going well, that that color was coming out nicely, and she reassured me everything was going well and was 'so excited for the color'. She had issues with it lightening up, I asked if the dryer would help, it seems like she needed her hand held the entire time like a toddler. The color which she convinced me to do the balayage technique which came out splotchy, yellow and completely not like the picture. This technique is obviously new to her so perhaps she should've practiced more before she went to offering it to clients. Fast forward to the monstrosity of the hair cut she gave me. I explained what kind of hair I have to help her and her cut was way off. Her 'bangs' were pathetic and it's not reassuring to a client when I ask for them, and she has to run over to someone else and ask how to cut them. She cut the bangs exactly how I told her NOT to and when she tried to 'fix them' she butchered them even more. When she could see I was not happy she became very snippy and said that she "did what I asked" & that she "cut them to guidelines". No she failed horribly, miserably and the scary fact is that she thought she did a good job! Except that she wouldn't even hold up a mirror showing me the back of my hair to show me how horrible it looked, I had to wait for another salon who had to correct her mess to do that. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but when I voiced my dissatisfaction to the owner she also got very argumentative with me. Like I'm the one who messed up. I had to go to another salon to fix this nightmare and waste more money, and the stylist there said "what did she do to you?? This is horrible and so amateur." Needless to say, I will never come back and to the point that I don't want anyone in that salon coming near my head to even correct it. If the owner vouches that she does amazing and wonderful work then that's a serious concern, even after I told her that My hair needs to be left to the pros. This goes to show that I should've stayed at a real salon and not one that will just hire anyone, knowledgable or not. I wish I could rate this 0 because that's what it deserves for stylists, & lack of customer service. read more

I go to Symmetry regularly and get my hair cut and colored by Lindsey L. I am always so pleased, we've gone short, long, blonde, red, brown, and I always leave feeling like a rock star. This weekend Lindsey did my hair for my wedding and again, so very very awesome. She was professional, fun, and a great personality to have there helping us all look fabulous! I Went to Symmetry with a friend to get our first waxing before we went on a big vacation. We were both a little nervous. We soon found out we had reason to be. I was left with nickel size wads of wax on me when I left and the waxing wasn't even completed. The girl who was performing the wax was not the nicest either. She applied the wax multiple times when it was too hot and I even told her but she continued to apply it hot. Then she kept trying to rip the wax off before it was dry and it caused a lot of pain. Also I was charged much more than the website made clear and no one explained to me how they decide what to charge. When I spoke to the owner she would not give me a full refund, explaining that it was my fault the technician couldn't do a good job. I have never been so mortified or degraded in my life. This establishment obviously is lacking in training in both the procedures they perform and in customer service. Please save your money and time. Go somewhere else that will have more compassion towards their clients. read more
