Fish and chips (battered Haddock fillet)

Good service, good food, moderate ambiance. Indoor seating is available with social distancing. We had Fish and Chips (battered haddock fillet), and the Shrimps with Fries. Food was ok, as expected. Service was good. Our server was friendly and prompt. The place is clean and maintaining COVID 19 cleanliness standards.

Went for brunch on a Sunday - decided on Symposium. They are consistent, dependable, and nothing fancy. A great place to go if you want lots of selection and the comfort of knowing it'll be the same as the last time.

Went for lunch today, found out they have Tuesday Bowl Special. We ordered Smoked Salmon Quinoa chicken peas salad, very tasty and fresh salad. Steak pennes and coconut mango rice bowl. Very generous portions and tasty too. Recommended

Love the food here but the service is so slow. Their Sweet Taboo Cake is seriously one of the best cakes I've ever had in my life!!

    SO SWEET

I have been here twice, once for dessert and then for breakfast. When I heard about their 2 for 1 cake slice promotion on Sunday, I had to try it out. Each person has to order drink to get this deal, so I got tea and my boyfriend got a smoothie. The cake I chose, some kind of fudgy chocolate cake, was the SWEETEST thing I have ever had. And let me tell you, I have a huge sweet tooth!!! Just thinking about it makes me shiver... Hope other cakes are not as sweet as mine. I couldn't finish the slice and I rarely leave any food on my plate. I came back here for early bird breakfast menu on Monday with my friends. Very good deal for breakfast! Everyone in my group, in total of six people, liked what they ordered. Come check out their early bird breakfast menu which is only available on weekdays unfortunately. Their regular breakfast menu also sounds pretty good. Overall, was not fan of their chocolate cake but definitely will be back for breakfast!

5, if you are looking for casual respectable dining with reasonably priced food, and yet with the atmosphere of fine expensive dining.

A very charming space overlooking the water. The Boathouse is located on 116 Gordon St in Guelph…read more There is parking available right along the paved walkway (angle parking only). If you follow the route, it leads to another bigger parking lot. Parking is free! Reservations are highly recommended. My guest and I made a reservation for two for 1:30pm. It was very busy when we walked in. We got a table right by the door. There were artwork and paintings hung all around the cafe - it was cute. I ordered an afternoon tea set, as well as an extra breakfast burrito for my guest and I to share. There is a tea menu to look at all the various options they have. It was nice to see that they had many options to choose. Our set came with mini sandwiches, scones and dessert and fruits. I would definitely come back to visit - it would be nice to come in the summer and book a table out on their patio.

Great location and customer service…read more Scones: Decent. A little sweet (which I like), served with whipped cream and strawberry jam. Fruit: The fruit was the best part of all our meals here. It was so fresh and sweet, which I thought would be difficult to find outside of California! I also enjoyed it with cottage cheese, which is not so common at breakfast spots in California unfortunately. Tea: The tea is enjoyable but pretty average when compared to bougier tea spots like The Bruce in Stratford. It's not clear how long I should let it steep for for optimal flavor. I preferred the Winter Dream green tea, which was warm and cozy, slightly sweet. I also preferred the McCrae over the Boathouse blend. The Boathouse blend was a little basic for me, and the McCrae had a slight sweetness that I enjoyed. High Tea: Average - a good price and pleasant experience, especially if the weather is nice enough to eat outside (and catch a bald eagle flying by!). My favorite dessert was the carrot cake cupcake. Ice Cream: Yes, ice cream and tea is definitely a good idea! The banana cream pie tastes like your classic Runts banana flavor (the original banana that got wiped out) and the black cherry has plenty of big cherry pieces. Great servings, and we loved that they served them in reusable bowls instead of disposable ones. Would definitely come again!

Great place for coffee and more. Been here several times. I would recommend it to others…read more Heading there tonight for Date Night.

I was taking a stroll through the neighbourhood with my family on one of our evening walks and…read morealong the path, we discovered a new restaurant which was Crepes and Coffee. It's situated along the busy Paisley & Imperial intersection underneath an apartment complex. I knew I had to return here in the afternoon for lunch. The inspiration behind this restaurant draws from a couple's dining experience in Europe. Here's my rundown: Food: We started off with the Coffee for Two, which came on a serving platter with a French press, 2 wafers, and 2 shots of Perrier water. The coffee was rich and it made for a unique experience with the French press. Florence - We then had one of their savoury crepes called the Florence. You had the option of getting this as a crepe or a waffle and it came drizzled with a light cream sauce, seasoned with salt, pepper & oregano. The filling had melted mozzarella and prosciutto and it was finished with field greens, cherry tomatoes, and a balsamic glaze. Overall, this was a pretty light dish! The crepe itself was slightly sweet and had a nice texture to it. Annecy - We finished with a Belgian waffle with ice cream. This came with French vanilla ice cream, strawberries, sliced bananas, nutella drizzle, and whipped cream. The presentation was beautiful and the dessert tasted very good and it wasn't too sweet. I would suggest sharing this with people as it's a little too much for one person to devour. Atmosphere: The overall vibe of the restaurant is nice. The decor is quite modern and there's a blackboard that showcases famous landmarks and places in Europe, which is the inspiration behind this restaurant. There's patio seating, high chair seating, and normal seating. There's a section that features one low-rise table and three chairs that's perfect for catching up with friends. All in all, I would say that this restaurant gives up vibes that make you feel relaxed and at home, which is what you should always feel at places like this one. Service: Service was good. The barista was really knowledgeable in the food items and recommended us all the things we ordered. The food didn't take long to come out and the barista kept checking up on us to see how we the food was and how are dining experience was. Price: The coffee for two was $7.00, savoury crepe was $12.75, and the waffle was $13.75 (it's an additional one dollar to get the waffle instead of the crepe). The price isn't too bad, especially given the great service. Verdict: Whether you're doing a stroll in the neighbourhood, catching up with friends, or just plain hungry, Crepes & Coffee is your one stop shop. They've been in business for 4 weeks now and our in the midst of experimenting with food options (they recently just introduced the savoury crepes). The west end of Guelph isn't quite known for its food or desserts so this place was definitely a nice addition to a area that's lacking desserts like crepes. Check this place out before it gets busy. One thing that you must bring is your credit or debit card as Crepes & Coffee makes an effort to try to reduce the amount of physical cash used and also went paperless. I'm giving this a 4.5 stars out of 5 mainly because of the great service, the atmosphere inside the restaurant, and the taste of the food. My two complaints are that they don't open earlier than 10am and their savoury crepe options are limited. Nevetheless, it's great to see the West End of Guelph growing when popping restaurants like this one.

I am a great fan of their hot chocolate with whipped cream on top. The flavour is very rich and perfectly satisfies my craving, especially in the colder weather. Their brownie is a bit on the sweeter side for me so I didn't personally enjoy it as much- but having it with coffee is definitely a better pairing! Sadly I have not had the chance to try their other menu items because I always eat lunch prior to going. Perhaps I'll have to return another time to try their sandwiches. They have a small selection of board games available. Both times I played scrabble and it was a fun time to enjoy with our drinks. The interior has limited seating so during busier times it may be harder to find a table. I usually go in the afternoon on a weekday and have luck finding a seat. My only complaint is the inconvenience of parking. The location of the cafe makes it harder to find closer street parking but that's not a flaw from the place, just the city. Overall I would recommend this cafe to enjoy a drink and snack alone or with company!

If you are going to see one of their many evening performances or gatherings, sounds like a good time. If you are here for the coffee only, I can say it is just ok ‍the inside is really old-school and could probably use a sprucing. The servers can be a hit or miss. Sometimes they are extremely friendly, other times seem tired and grumpy. They do seem to bake in house and that can sometimes feature exciting baked goods.
