I waited until the end of my entire lease term before writing this review because I wanted to give an honest and thorough account for anyone considering living here. I do not recommend this complex. When I first moved in, I was excited. The building looked nice during the tour and the leasing office staff were friendly and very communicative. Unfortunately, it did not take long after moving in to realize that the experience did not match the initial impression. One of the biggest issues was the cleanliness of the building. The hallway that leads from the leasing office to the model unit does not reflect the actual condition of the rest of the building. The floors throughout the residential hallways were frequently dirty, with urine, food, paint residue, and trash left in common areas. At one point I even found a used condom in the elevator. I reported this to management and provided photos of the trash and unsanitary conditions, but the issues continued without noticeable improvement. Pet owners should also be aware that there is very limited space to walk your dog. During the tour, ask to see the "trail" where dogs are supposed to be walked. It is essentially a narrow strip of road behind the building near the train tracks. Many times it was filled with dog waste, making it very unpleasant and stressful for pets to use. When residents brought this up to management, the response was that there was little they could do other than occasionally have landscapers place hay over the area. Another major issue during my lease was the fire alarm system. The alarms went off multiple times in the middle of the night, forcing residents to evacuate the building. On one occasion the alarm went off for more than three hours and even the fire department had difficulty stopping it. Management later said it was caused by a leak in the building, but there was very little communication or concern shown for residents who had to wait outside in the cold and rain, many with children and pets. Parking can also be inconvenient for guests. Visitors staying longer than three days are required to pay for parking. Otherwise they must park in the uncovered public area outside the deck near the restaurants, which is not secured. My final concern is related to package security and management response. Around the Christmas/New Year period, a package belonging to my partner was stolen. We later discovered that the package had been moved by management from its original delivery location in the mail room (where cameras operate) to the package room floor, even though there is a sign stating that packages should not be placed there. During the investigation we were also informed that the cameras in the package room were not functioning, leaving residents with no way to identify what happened. The situation eventually involved a police report, but management stopped communicating with us about the issue. As residents who paid rent on time and did not cause issues, the lack of accountability and follow-through from management was extremely disappointing. After not getting help from the onsite team, I reached out to corporate and spoke with the regional manager, Leslie Thaxton, but unfortunately the response was no better. Overall, while the building may appear appealing during the tour, my experience as a resident was very different. I encourage anyone considering living here to ask detailed questions, tour the entire property, and speak with current residents before signing a lease. read more

People this place had the nerve to bill me for every day wear and tear that had the problem before I moved in because their maintenance worker actually repaired it when I moved in and the corner had little chips falling out because of the problem that existed before I moved in! They put me in an apartment that cause me distress because I have bad ankles due to injuries that I have a handicap placard for! They put me way in the back without my permission! The walk was very long from the elevators and on top of it the elevators were broke for 2 months! Make sure before you rent anywhere that you see the actual apartment before you move in! They would not accommodate me knowing I had issues! Apartment scam people out of money by charging them for every day we're and tear! I am back to buying!! read more

My family's Honest Experience Living at the Sync. Let me start by saying that our apartment was beautiful. The view outside was great, and the location was amazing. However, living right next door to Publix was both a blessing and a curse. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, starting at 6 a.m. or earlier, you would hear the delivery trucks pulling in and the constant beeping as they pulled out. That part was not fun. We were excited to move in, but our excitement quickly turned to sorrow when my car window was busted and items were stolen just two days after we moved in. I notified the office and received the usual speech from Dana (the manager) that crime can happen anywhere. I suggested they put cameras in the garage to monitor it, but I was told it would be too expensive. Bottom line: nothing was done. Another thing that was not fun was the fact that, on top of our rent, we paid for sewer, water, gas, trash, pest control, a residential fee, and a convergent fee on a monthly basis. So, for a 3-bedroom apartment, we were paying $3,000 per month. This was quite ridiculous, considering we were sharing walls with others. Not to mention, the neighbors upstairs were unbearably loud, and the fire alarm would go off sporadically, sometimes in the middle of the night. Having to get up and go outside in the middle of the night until the fire department arrived, investigated, and turned off the alarm was diabolical. On top of that, The Sync used to supply the specialty lightbulbs for the kitchen and bathroom, but they passed that responsibility to the residents, so we had to buy our own. The craziest part about living at The Sync is that we lived there for 4 years, and despite always paying our rent early or on time, never once being late, they still raised the rent every year. You get nothing for being a loyal resident. Even crazier is the fact that you have no choice but to pay for trash valet, but sometimes our garbage wouldn't get picked up, and there would be no explanation as to why. With trash valet, you have to put your trash can out by 8 p.m. and have it back inside by 8 a.m. If your trash can is out after 8 a.m., you are charged $50 per occurrence. To ensure they collect as much money as possible, Julitza (a leasing agent) will walk the halls looking for trash violations and take pictures. She even digs through nasty garbage looking for something with your name on it to use as proof. I reached out to the office on several occasions to ask why, when they don't pick up the trash as agreed, we don't receive any refunds. But if we make a mistake and leave the trash can out past 8 a.m., they demand their $50. Both Julitza and Dana refused to answer, and I understood why--it's because they had no answer for that stupidity. It was simply about greed. They were so greedy for money that when we moved out, they wanted the car sticker they gave us 4 years ago--the same sticker they no longer use because they have a new parking system. Failure to return the useless sticker would cost us $150 per sticker, and we had 3 cars. Fortunately, we never removed the stickers and were able to peel them off in pieces to return them. Overall, our neighbors were nice, but Julitza and Dana were not the best when it came to communication and customer service. Everything with them seemed to be about how much money they could get out of you. I'm guessing for the sake of their jobs they were doing as they were told to do by upper management. Everyone needs a place to live, but unless you want to be nickeled and dimed, I would steer clear of this place. The gate is always broken, there's no security in the garage, and cars are always getting broken into. The door to enter your apartment from the garage is always left open because it doesn't close properly. The entry hallways are always filthy, and despite complaining, nothing was done the entire 4 years I lived there. read more

The alarm has gone off more than 5 times in less than a year here. A couple times in the middle of the night or late at night. It goes on for 1/2 hour at least. I highly don't recommend anyone live here. They take forever to turn it off and it's always a false alarm. Oh it this won't let me out 1 star. It won't let me remove one of the last two. I was also given the opportunity to tour the complex and it was a friendly community, and I immediately felt at home there. To management of the property who wrote me a response to my review. There should be no confusion in regards to me renewing my lease. I renewed because as a current tenant it's not always easy to pick up and just move, especially since l run a home based business. Residents should not have to constantly complain about issues that management should be on top of in the first place. In the four walls of my apartment are nice but l still stand by the fact that the luxury feel that the previous management provided has diminished with current management, but unfortunately the rental rates still continue to rise. Honestly, on the outside it looks very nice. But the management and the people who work there are very half ass. Within the last month I've had to be on the phone with them constantly, and almost every single time that I have called it went straight to voicemail. I've only been able to get on the phone with them two or three times. I started noticing that I was not the only resident that was experiencing this. Even after leaving several messages, there were times where I still never got a callback. These phone calls were about serious matters. Unless you were trying to spend your whole life savings, apart from paying rent, I don't recommend ever staying here. It's very unprofessional. Again, after talking with several people, i noticed i was not the only one experiencing this. They made it seem completely opposite of what it actually is. read more

when i first moved to this property in 2018, it was a brand new property and originally alta at jonquil. there were different owners and management. there are a few things i would like to make clear in this review. when i initially became a resident at sync at jonquil (when it was alta at jonquil) i was very happy residing there. it is a very nice community, there is a publix literally a few feet from the property in which was so convenient. i loved being able to walk to publix if need be. the property is nice, but over priced in my opinion. the gate is broken/left open for anyone's access more than not and i can't even begin to tell you how disgusting...unhealthy the trash rooms are. i have pictures in my phone showing how trash wasn't picked up for days upon days which could have resulted in roaches and mice!! this is not okay no matter where you reside, but its definitely not expected when you're paying $1,500 in rent!! my main issue during my stay at sync was when one of the maintenance staff, derek hatter, entered my home without my authorization nor permission and and after being instructed by the property manager not to!!!!!!!! not only did she instruct him not to enter my home (while i was not there)...she expressed this in many ways!! she told him this in person/face to face, she emailed him, and on the day of the incident, she reminded him; in person...and derek hatter still entered my home (while i was not there)!!! i couldnt believe it. for all i know he was in there sniffing my panties, putting secret cameras up so he could watch me, going thru personal things...i dont know what he did, but even after a number of instructions not to, he did it anyway!!! why would a man enter a woman's home after being instructed not to???! why?? think about it. ask yourself that question. it wasn't "a mistake"!! the other maintenance guy followed instructions from the property manager and did not access my home. why didn't derek hatter??? bc he had an agenda! on top of that, he left my door ajar when he left! i have pictures of this as well. to add insult to injury, not only did he enter my home unauthorized, he also left my door ajar and i could have possibly been robbed and my safety could have been in jeopardy.. i immediately sent an email to the property manager with picutres letting her know how pissed i was. i also, emailed the regional manager, kendra roberts...i am still "waiting" for a response from her from my last email. she basically ignored me. derek hatter is still employed at this property. i asked that something be done...they claim he was dealt with. yeah, okay!!! so i inquired what exactly?? because i saw him the very next day!! im sure he got a slap on the wrist. if you are a woman and you want to feel safe in your home, and not feel like a possible predator can enter your home when he likes bc he has access to your home at any given time....do not move here!!! i repeat...do not move to sync at jonquil. lastly, hope, brooke, and carol are mostly pleasant, however, the way they (carol and kendra) handled the situation (or a lack there of) of their employee derek hatter entering my home unauthorized is unexcusable!!! yeah, carol was apologetic. but when things like this happen...on this level, these things should be dealt with like it happened to you, to your mother, your sister, your daughter!! you don't want to just hear "i'm so sorry! we told him in so many ways not to access your home. we told him in person, by email, we reminded him!! i don't know why he did that?! " and then say you will handle it! as far as i am concerned, they did nothing!! i no longer felt safe in my own home!! i barely walked around without clothes right out of the shower bc i didn't know if derek hatter assembled a camera that wasn't naked to the eye while in my home alone for i dont know how long, unauthorized!! also, kendra roberts is so unprofessional and shouldn't be the regional manager when she deals with problems by avoiding addressing issues with tenants!!!! you have been warned read more

My husband and I moved from Dallas, Texas to the Atlanta, Georgia area back in July 2019. The first apartment we moved in were not good living arrangements to our likeness. Therefore, we sourced for another apartment. We found and really loved Sync on Jonquil. Our initial walk-in was was amazing customer service. We told them our disappointment about the previous apartment we had and they were sooo understanding and worked with my husband and I. Needless to say, we moved in with no hesitation. Everyone that works there literally is so helpful and does a fantastic job with our needs pertaining to the apartment whether it's a light bulb change or any other minor issues. The leasing specialist, Hope, has really been amazing. She is so approachable, always eager to assist with anything, and goes over and beyond for the community at Sync at Jonquil. You will definitely be in good hands. read more

Don't waste your money. The first mgmt company was awesome, but since Sync has taken over not so much. They are pretty much horrible. Garage Gates stay open for over a week at a time. Fourth floor door is always broken and unsecured. Took over two months to fix gym equipment. There is a van in the parking that sat there so long people have written notes on it. It's leaking oil all over the concrete. There is dog poop and pee in hallways and in the elevator. There is dog poop all over the walking areas outside. When we moved in we had Starbucks machines in the club house. They replaced them with some basic Walmart coffee maker. It's overall a disappointment how far this apt complex has fallen since the new mgmt company took over. All of these complaints were never addressed through the many email notices they send out to guests. They do however send out information about unnecessary information such as: get togethers, holiday parties, etc. finally they lie on many occasions about actions they take and at one point told my wife the exact opposite information they told me. read more

Location, location, location! Easy access to 75, 285, 20, the Battery, Smyrna Village and more. Our apartment is amazing! Gorgeous, new, great light, The property management is new-ish, but trying hard to ensure residents needs are met. Carol and Hope are the two we've worked with most. The apartments are noisy! We are on the third floor, but at street level, so we hear all the fire and police sirens, and drag racers on Spring and Atlanta Rd late at night. Train tracks run behind the building, but quite honestly, we haven't even noticed a train since the second week we moved here. You really do get used to the sound. If you have heavy-footed neighbors above you, you can hear them walking, or moving furniture. Sound machines are a good idea for sleeping. All of that being said, the complex has amazing amenities, which is why I'm giving it four stars versus three. Saltwater pool, fitness center to rival the best club, Biergarten, stunning community center, resident activities, doggy DNA to help defer any dog waste issues, dog wash area, gated garage to drive to your floor, and business center. read more
