This was a complete move out of our family home in Livonia as we are relocating my elderly father to live near me in Washington, DC. My time in Michigan was very limited and I needed a thorough job done, so we could put the house on the market ASAP. Brad Abbott, the owner, is a great guy and Chuck It is truly a local, family-owned business. Brad took the time to make sure to accommodate my tight schedule by reserving the time and resources for multiple truck loads, as it was difficult to estimate exactly how much stuff there would be, being a move out. My parents had piled up a lot of stuff after 50 years in Michigan! Brad and Austin performed the job, arrived promptly, and were very thorough, They literally opened every single drawer, cabinet, closet, etc. as directed and emptied it out. They organized the loading such that anything that could be donated to charity was grouped separately from items destined for the landfill/recycling centers. It took THREE very full truckloads to empty the house: the basement, main floor, and 2nd floor. It was a very hot and muggy day to boot - Brad and Austin truly worked their tails off. Part of me feels tremendous guilt for renting a big dumpster and simply tossing out a garage full…read moreof things my better half and I no longer wanted. There is another part of me that is just so happy to have a garage that can finally fit both of our cars, all the family bicycles, yard tools, a grill, and more. Even better, everything is easily accessible and all of the junk is gone. It's just gone. Bin There Dump That hauled it all away. My spouse still smiles every time she pulls her car into the garage bay that used to be blocked with a broken filing cabinet, a cat urine soaked box spring, some rusting bed frames, and a crap ton of bankers boxes with old files we did not need. The rental process was perfectly easy. Susan from BTDT called to follow up on the online order. The dumpster was delivered as promised, and placed exactly where I had requested. Our 10 cubic yard dumpster was quite clean and easy to fill thanks to the double doors on one end that allowed me to just walk right in. We filled the whole thing in an afternoon. Thanks to BTDT, a project that we had pushed off for years, was completed in just a few hours. A few hot and sweaty hours, but still. I called to have the dumpster removed, and it did take a couple of days for the company to pick it back up. That was less than ideal. Mostly because I was nervous about rain. Not about the rain ruining anything in the dumpster, but rather about the added water weight all the paper might soak up. It might be nice in the future to include some kind of tarp with the rental, or maybe even an option to include one for a few extra bucks. Still, this was so easy I would gladly recommend BTDT to anyone. I'm not quite so sure how to manage the guilt about throwing away so much stuff that perhaps others might have been able to either use or repurpose. But the smile on my wife's face helps make me feel better about the whole experience.
