I tried to exercise, this often resulted in suffering afterward. At some moment the intensity of the pain increased to a level in which I could barely walk. Driving was also difficult. I suffered more from pain whenever I did any form of household duties. I became fearful of any kind of physical activities. My life was dictated by pain and fear of tasks that I knew would cause pain, even sitting was uncomfortable. I have been to my family doctor on numerous occasions. Eventually, the doctor referred me to a MRI scan. The MRI showed something bad at L3/4 and 4 or 5, but I didn't really understand what this meant. I went there and was assigned to Katherine Smith. Starting from the consultation and to the very end she has been working hard trying to bring me back to normal. I was visiting Kate for 10 weeks (twice a week). Each session was one hour non-stop exercising, stretching, massage, etc. Additionally, I was given exercises to do at home to help me to improve flexibility, strength and overall health. I was so happy to see how quickly the techniques helped me. After two weeks of attending Kate's sessions my fear of pain has gone as I started attending Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes and play soccer. .From session to session my fitness is improving and so is my confidence. I was referred to Katy in Synergy physical therapy by my sports doctor for lower back pain. I have a history of lower back from from 2010 when I suffered from a disc slip while playing soccer. Every once in two years I would require some form or treatment to get back to normal. But I suffered from lower back pain throughout 2016 even after trying different options like chiropractor, few visits at other physcial therapists but nothing seemed to work. And this significantly limited my ability to play soccer regularly. This is when my sports doctor recommended me to Katy. Katy's personalized treatment has been super helpful. She's super punctual, never had to miss any sessions, very flexible with scheduling. I could see some positive results immediately after the first few sessions. I went to see Priyanka for acute pain in my shoulders when I extended my arms up or toward my back. She came recommended by a reputable arthritis doctor. I thought my pain was linked primarily to arthritis and to be honest, did not expect much from physical therapy. But Priyanka was able to detect that this was not - at least entirely - due to arthritis and gave me a number of physical exercises that improved my shoulders dramatically in only a few weeks. The acute pain is now gone and I can extend my arms up or back as I used to before the pain started. Priyanka is very knowledgeable, clearly keenly aware of the anatomy of the joints and on how to free up locked or frozen shoulders. I have not been able to got back to see her for a few weeks now due to COVID19 but I was able to maintain or even improve my shoulders by doing the exercises that she prescribed 4-5 times a week. During and after pregnancy I developed a hip pain due to the way my ligaments are. I was in tremendous pain and could barely move or get any work done and if I did push through the day somehow; I would not be able to move till the next morning. I visited a specialist who recommended that I go for physical therapy to improve my back and hip muscles. Enter Priyanka Gupta!!!! She worked on my back and hip and about 3 months later I felt a considerable difference. She explained various exercises and also stretched out and massaged my problem areas to relieve pain. I came here for some mild back pain and abdominal muscle pain after trying out another PT clinic. I felt like Priyanka did a much more thorough assessment and informed me a great deal about my body and why I was having the aches and pains I was having. Within a week I did not experience the pain anymore, and within 3 weeks I was amazed at the things I could do with my body that I was too afraid to do before I saw her (for fear of pain). I was referred to Priyanka Gupta by my Rheumatologist for physical therapy regarding stenosis in my low back. She worked with me twice a week from March 24th to May 4th. She helped me learn many stretches to loosen up so the pain would go away and my core, low back, hips and legs would strengthen.
