All were delicious, no complaints. My favorites were definitely the bready meat dumpling, it just melted in your mouth, and the yibin noodles. I also really enjoyed the chrysanthemum tea; they delivered a big pot and several cups, and there was enough in the pot to fill each of our cups three or four times. The prices of all were not too bad, too. I will definitely be back, hopefully soon. Just a really comfortable place with great food and good service.

They offer northern chinese dishes (think noodles, dumplings, not rice dishes) in a quaint space filled with tables and benches. You order at the counter, find your seat, and they bring your food to you. Utensils, water and tea, and any other condiments are self serve as well. My favorite items here are the liang pi (cold wheat noodles), zha jiang mian, guo tie (potstickers), and the red oil wontons. You will find that all of the food here is hearty and filling, so I recommend also grabbing a small cold dish in the refrigerator next to the cashier to cut some of the oiliness. It's hard to go wrong here with the food, really. The dumplings of all varieties are homemade and cooked to perfection. The noodles are their staples which they do very well. An additional item that I will sometimes order in the winter is the lamb noodle soup with thick noodles (yes, you can request thick noodles but the default noodle is thin). Overall, the food is very comforting and the whole restaurant has a homey vibe that definitely stirs my childhood memories. The prices here are always more than fair, the food is consistently good, and the owner is always friendly. I will have to warn about a slight language barrier, so it's better to come with someone who is proficient in Mandarin though it is not a hard and fast rule. I love supporting small businesses, and this is one that I hope continues to do well!

It's tucked away in a new strip of shops and restaurants near the Chuy's and the Cornelius Nursery. The restaurant is cute and spacious and the staff is friendly and attentive without being annoying. The music is a little loud, but not too bad. The food is fantastic. I ordered my three favorites, paad Thai, Drunken Noodles, and massaman curry, hoping at least one would be good. To my surprise, all the were excellent. I ordered the creme brunette for dessert, and it was sublime. The texture was velvety and the caramelization crunchy and tasted like roasted marshmallows. It's served warm, which is different than I'm used to, but it works. I highly recommend this café. I was the only customer at 3 pm, when I arrived, but people began showing up closer to 4 pm. They have a happy hour for appetizers. There is ample parking, as well.

I was severely disappointed unfortunately, the beef looked like plastic, if you use the baking soda trick to soften your beef or chicken, you know that if you leave it too long it has that processed frozen dinner texture. The sauce on one had gelatinous chunks and the other was watery and the lomein was super soggy and oily. Veggies in the dishes were fresh though. Not sure if I will give this another try but I might just because I definitely want to support local business owners. TBH maybe they just had a bad night. But it won't be my first choice.

I felt like I overpaid for the hotpot $15.99. I added in the 6 min eggs for $1.50, these were good, tasted like regular eggs. The tempura station looked really good with fried veggies and seafood. Even though they sat under a warmer, they were still room temperature when biting into the shrimp or calamari tempura. I opted to take this home so I could reheat in the air fryer. On this most recent visit I ordered a Pork Bahn Mi. The pork had absolute zero char, which I believe is integral to the sweet and savory char-grilled flavor promised in the menu description. As a result, the meat tasted as if it were stewed in an overcrowded pan leading to a rubbery texture. At a previous visit my baguette was also soaked and soggy, as if the pickled vegetables hadn't been drained before being added to the sandwich, then left to sit before service. I used to regularly order their pho, but have moved away from doing so as it tastes very average. On one hand their broth is consistent and does the job, especially if you are in a rush, but on the other hand is has no notable characteristics to speak of. Its aromatic blend doesn't particularly stand out and the broth doesn't have the deep flavor I would expect from Southern-style pho. The staff is always helpful and accommodating to the large parties I visit with. They always look busy, though not in a way that bothers me, and it's easy to see why when you consider the rapid speed that they serve food and clear tables. Overall, Pho Ben does the job for a quick bite of Vietnamese food. Even with larger parties, I've never had to wait longer than ~15 minutes for a table, and once seated, food typically arrives in ~10 minutes. However, due to its declining quality, it has fallen off my list of go-to spots in Sugar Land.

We ordered ha cao, xiu mai, chicken feet, turnip cake, glutinous rice dumpling, steamed rice noodle, tripe, and Chinese broccoli. The food was phenomenal! Everything was cooked to perfection. The service may be slow due to limited staff (mom and pop shop) so give them some grace. We also learned the hard way that the hot tea is self-serve. But this is now our new favorite dimsum place and can't wait to come back. So glad that we don't have to drive all the way to Bellaire to get dimsum.
