Pho Ben remains my go-to spot for Vietnamese food in Sugar Land and easily one of my favorite pho restaurants in the Houston area. It's located in a strip center, so there is plenty of parking. I've been here numerous times, and I usually order their pho. During the hotter summer months, when I'm not craving a piping hot bowl of soup, I'll switch it up and get one of their vermicelli bowls instead. For pho, they offer a small bowl for $11 and a large for $12, with many protein options such as fatty brisket, well-done flank, tripe, tendon, and meatballs in various combinations. Their vermicelli bowls are usually between $12-15 depending on the protein. They also sell banh mi sandwiches, although I usually stick with the pho and vermicelli dishes. The dining area is very large, which helps because this place gets extremely busy on weekends, especially around Saturday lunch. Even when crowded, I usually don't have to wait long because there are so many tables. If you want to avoid the rush, I'd recommend coming a little earlier before the lunch crowd. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the food usually comes out just a few minutes after ordering. They also have a rewards program tied to your phone number where you earn points toward future meals. If you're in Sugar Land and craving Vietnamese food--especially pho--I highly recommend giving Pho Ben a try.

General: A Pho restaurant located right beside TJ Max. Good: - Fast service. From sit down to the food coming out was fast. - Clean interior. - Food was pretty good. Bad: - I'm willing to bet the soup base has a lot of MSG. - The strawberry lemonade tasted way too sweet and like medicine. Overall: I wouldn't mind coming back to this place.

Pho Ben is a Houston classic and staple! I am still blown away by the Houston prices and my vermicelli bowl was only $14! I got the beef and egg roll and it is HUGE. I loved how the ingredients were so fresh and I even had leftovers because of how big the portions were. The spring rolls were so fresh and the perfect crunch paired with the nutty peanut sauce. Definitely need to come back to try the pho!

Tried the chicken pho for the first time after feeling sick the other day, and it really hit the spot. The broth had a lot of flavor, tasted fresh, and I honestly felt better the next day. Make sure to ask for the red chili crisp since they do not automatically bring it out, but it adds a lot. Around $12 or $13, which is cheaper than most places. Portions are not huge, but solid quality for the price.

We stopped by for a late breakfast/early lunch on a cold front day and ordered a couple of bowls of pho. As usual, service was very fast, someone greeted us right away, seated us quickly, and took our order almost immediately, as if we were regulars. Luckily, we already knew what we wanted. The two bowls of hot pho came out promptly. These days, the vegetable plate seems a bit light on bean sprouts, and I'm not sure if requesting extra is an option. There was, however, plenty of basil and cilantro, which I asked them to leave out due to an allergy. I still noticed slight traces of cilantro in my bowl and removed them, but it's something worth noting for those with allergies. Overall, the pho was hot and satisfying. The broth wasn't especially rich, but it was flavorful enough and consistent with what you'd expect for the Sugar Land area. There's plenty of parking available, and they also offer a loyalty program, which is a nice bonus.

Got the shaking beef and pho and spring rolls. Everything is solid. The restaurant is large and looks clean and hip. Service was good and not intrusive. The shaking beef was interesting because it tasted more like stir fry rather than the usual sauce I'm used to and it looked like it all went to the bottom. Would like it more saucier. The pho and spring rolls were solid.

Went to Pho Ben on a lunch break. Love the indoor decor. Service was crazy fast. Got seated and food probably came out in less than 5 minutes. Ordered eggrolls (2pc) and small pho tai. Eggrolls were crispy and delicious; fish sauce was good. The bowl of pho was also solid. I'll definitely be back!

This is my neighborhood pho place. Always busy, but I've never had to wait. I always ask for pho with extra greens and no sprouts. This location hears me! Doesn't give me a look like I'm stringing the wrong words together. This place is consistent in service, and ambiance, and reliably delicious. I did have to give up the salted lemonade soda though. I gotta get that wonderful drink somewhere else. They switched to or added some kind of sweetener that makes my body react as if it is sucralose. Sucralose physically wrecks me for 2-3 days. I should probably ask them about the change and possibility of switching how it is sweetened.

this is one of those places i've been going to for years, basically grew up eating here, so it feels impossible to count how many times i've been. it's almost always busy, but the service is efficient and the food comes out super fast in big portions. i get their pho every single time; lots of meat and plenty of veggies. recently the broth has been on the lighter side though, so ive had to add more sriracha and hoisin to elevate it. i also love their lemongrass pork, chicken, or beef with rice, so fragrant and nicely grilled every time. the shrimp spring rolls are fresh and the peanut sauce is solid. the banh mi has a generous amount of meat and soft bread, though it's a bit bland. for dessert, the chè isn't too sweet, and the coconut is light and refreshing, which i really appreciate. their loyaltyprogram went from $10 for every $100 spent to $125, but with the economy nowadays its understandable. my main concern is that the quality seems to be declining bit by bit over the years, particularly in the richness of the broth. overall, it's a reliable, comforting spot i keep coming back to with great portions, quick service, and warm, familiar food.

Pho Ben is still a main staple of Sugar Land for pho. While it's not the best broth, it is consistent and gets the job done. When I'm not in the mood for pho, their banh mi sandwiches are delicious. Unfortunately they have changed the rewards program to give you a $10 credit when you spend $125 (previously $100). This place is always popping so if you want to avoid waiting I would arrive before 6.

    Kate Y.

The place is clean and lively, and the service is warm and friendly. Came with a group of 6 people, and didn't have to wait long. Food came out quickly. I got my usual - grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli bowl. The portion was large, and it was super flavorful. I chose the Yukou Matcha as my beverage - what a delightful drink! It's got this citrusy jelly and candied rind at the bottom. Would love to come again.

Does everything well. Big portion size and lots of meat for the dac biet. Goes great with sriracha and hoisin sauce. I've never seen a pho place use this many red onions, but it works and adds a unique twist to the dish. Definitely will come back again soon!

Pho lacks flavor and they want to charge extra for a plastic container for your leftover pho! Floors are dangerously slippery.

I get it - it's right after the holidays so staffing could be short. The server we had wasn't exactly enthusiastic, just did the bare minimum. Dishes piled up and we weren't asked about refills. You'd figure because there was only 1 group that the service would be attentive, but nope! The food that we ordered from the kitchen were all super fresh and delicious. My favorites were the bulgogi gimbap, eggroll (tiny rolled egg omelette), and chicken wings! They come out super hot - loved them all. The hot buffet bar was not filled at all, some were even just empty. I found it disappointing that we didn't get to try a lot of their items. The hot buffet bar was really scarce, I mean, just fried dumplings and fries but they were refilled really slow and some never had refills. The boba bar was empty and never filled. The DIY ramen station was closed off. I tipped only because I felt like I had to, but the service was abysmal. I would come back but maybe for lunch instead of dinner. Hopefully service improves.

When you pickup your food, the sit down area is dark, and there isn't much of a waiting area. It looks to be run by two folks, the cook and the cashier. It is probably best to order over the app, as the one cashier is busy packing the food in the fancy packaging and dealing with the money transactions. Since it is only two people, it can be slow to get your food when it is busy. I waited an additional 20 mins from the projected time it was suppose to be done. As for the food, the miso ramen was packed in this fancy box. The box contained the soup separated from the noodles with a few side dishes. I believe this is the only vegi ramen they offer. It is nothing special. The broth is basically miso soup with soy sauce. (2 out of 5) The cold sesame noodles was better. It had more flavor. (4 out of 5) The Salt & Pepper Chicken was good (4.5 out of 5). I couldn't help eating it while in the car, as it smelled so good. The Braised Pork over rice was decent. It was cut up thick pork belly, braised in an Asian brown sauce. The flavoring was a little one sided. (3 out of 5). I'm giving this place an overall 3 stars because the food isn't something to rave about. Packaging and presentation were great, but tastes was more important to me.

I have passed by their restaurant many times, but it never occurred to me to go in until one day I was surprised to see them ranked in the top 100 ramen places nationally on Yelp! With less than 300 reviews, I was skeptical at first but was intrigued to give it a try, and I'm so glad that I did! I visited on a Friday afternoon right before New Year's and was greeted warmly by the staff inside. As I was indecisive on what to order in the ramen section, I asked the staff for suggestions. She was kind to walk me through the menu without rushing to get an order, and she mentioned that their most popular item is actually the beef noodles. That was all I needed to make a decision to try the beef noodles. While waiting for the food, I chatted with the staff and learned that the restaurant opened right before the pandemic then shifted their model to take-out only as the pandemic begin. Since then, they've tried to make use of their restaurant space to return to dine-in but it has been difficult to find reliable workers. In the interest of keeping the quality consistent and customers happy, they've decided to make sacrifices to keep the business model as is for take-out only instead of scaling up with additional staff, which is such a shame given the rent in the area is not cheap and they have such a beautiful space! When you hear "take-out only", I know what you're thinking, BUT I promise you this is the best takeout food you will ever have! The packaging is very well-designed to keep the flavors and ingredients at its finest! As I mentioned, I ordered the beef noodles, and typically noodle dishes are not ideal for takeout, but Asia Blue separates the soup from the noodles so that the noodles are not soggy, and even after half hour, the soup stayed warm and flavorful. The noodles also came paired with many mini side dishes as palate cleansers, which were a nice surprise. From my conversation with the staff, I've also learned that this is one of the rare places that truly make their broth fresh from premium ingredients! You can be sure that it's MSG free and packed with healthy nutrients, and that's a quality that you can taste. I highly recommend this place for your next ramen adventure, and I certainly will be returning again very soon to try the other menu items. :)
