The sides here are tasty. I have ordered the combo fried rice which has beef, chicken and shrimp a couple of times recently and the proteins have been tiny morsels, slivers... negligable. Randomly decided to try out somewhere for lunch specials and was pleasantly surprised with Bamboo Spice. Plenty of parking outside. I tried the sweet and sour chicken lunch special that comes with a side of soup for $10.99- it was good to eat it there as it's crispy and wasn't doughy. I enjoyed it. The kung pao chicken had good flavor to it as well. The guy helping our table was friendly and seemed to know and talked to a lot of the other guests as well. Let me tell you that I've been going here for years. And I really REALLY love it especially when I eat in. Just a note guys any Szechuan place will NEVER EVER be as good take out as it is in the restaurant. That being said the owner, Nathan is extremely nice, the staff is great everyone is always smiling and they are always willing to accommodate special requests. I've ordered the Chef special noodle soup with beef so many times over the years it's on the menu. The Chinese dishes are really good but the Szechuan dishes are my go to. Just a tiny tip guys - if you only order takeout from here you'll never tell the difference but when you dine in THEN get take out you are doing yourself a disservice. And be mindful when you order takeout out on busy evenings and weekends likely there will be errors it happens. Parking is easy, inside has a few tables but you should definitely call ahead if you want to have a large group accommodated. The service is top tier, everyone was knowledgeable and friendly. My father is a VERY picky eater. He often refuses to try any number of new foods, and he holds no reservation nor hesitation when it comes to issuing direct complaints. That said, he had nothing but positive comments about everything he tried here. This meal won over the toughest nut to crack, and he could barely stop himself from eating more while saying that he was full--the food is definitely good stuff. Heads up: I like my spicy food spicy. Found this place on YELP! And met a friend there for lunch. What a neighborhood gem this was. The people are so friendly and genuine. We loved all of the dishes we ordered and all so fresh and lots of flavor! Started with the crab rangoons. Yum! The yellow curry chicken came out next and very tasty. The green beans were crispy and seasoned well. The soft tofu with shrimp was perfectly cooked. The all- time favorite was the Top seller fried chicken with red chili. This is another restaurant that when I first moved to the area I found delicious and just kept coming back. And even if I was far away I'd make the drive for their food. My favorite dish is their spicy crispy chicken, this stuff is addicting, we also get the spicy crispy shrimp which is the same seasoning except with shell on shrimp, it's fried crispy so you can eat it with the shell! Their sesame chicken is actually quite good, once again it's because it's crispy! Most places it's super soggy. For beef dishes we usually get black pepper beef or beef and broccoli. Went last night with my kids after swimming Ordered the lo mein and the stir fried spring beans with chicken. Food was the better that the usual Chinese food affair, I didn't eat much expect for some string beans, but the kids really liked it and they are extremely picky. Food alone I would rate 4+/5 Service was ok. We sat for a while without getting any attention even though for a bit we the only table occupied. Water was filled just once. I had to flag them down for the bill and then just went upto the counter to pay it when no one came to pick up the credit card for a while. 1/2 star off for when a server came and asked me something that I couldn't really understand and I thought she was asking how many extra plates I wanted. So she brought over 4 bowls of rice. We didn't eat the rice but got charged for 3 extra bowls. It's fine, my 3 yr old actually fell asleep so I didn't even look at the bill until I got home. 3.5/5. On October 24th at 6 pm, my classmates and I arrived at Bamboo Spice. We were excited to try Bamboo Spice after reading the reviews and even getting a thumbs up from our teacher, who had also gone there before. At first sight of the restaurant on a sunny Friday evening, we saw that the place was small, but not in a cramped way - more of a comfortable, homey way. We ordered the Fried Vegetable Spring Rolls, Mongolian Beef, Steamed Pork Soup Dumplings, House Special Rice Noodles, and the Spicy Crispy Chicken. The spring rolls were nice and hot and had great flavor, with the outside being crunchy and the inside being well-done vegetables that were nicely seasoned. The Mongolian beef was very tender and had a nice savory flavor to it with the addition of onions, garlic, and green onions. The steamed pork soup dumplings were very tasty too, and had a very rich, savory broth. The dish was accompanied by a sauce with multiple spices in it, making it slightly sour, which was a unique addition to the dumplings. The House Special Rice Noodles were nice and flavorful with soy sauce and other sauces and oils, which paired well with the egg and chicken that came in the dish; the noodles were also chewy. The Spicy Crispy Chicken started off tasting pretty good and had the right amount of flavor and spice. The longer you eat, however, it becomes too much for the mouth to handle due to the weird tingling feeling it leaves behind, but not to where it gives a negative impression of the dish. The dessert menu could be diversified, because there was only one dessert, which were custard-filled sesame balls, which we could not order due to dairy allergies. If there were more desserts, it would give customers more options on what they could order. The service was also attentive, with them paying close attention to all their customers' needs equally, even though they were swamped with several takeout customers and around 10 people to take orders from who sat down to dine in the restaurant, and only around 2 wait staff. The dishes themselves were very large, and most likely were meant to be shared between two to three people. For three people who ordered one appetizer and four main dishes, the total came out to be only around $26 each, with the bill split into three. Making the prices significantly cheaper than many other dine-in restaurants that I have been to. The price was definitely great for the size and quality of the food. Overall, our experience was good. I ordered a wonton soup and cream cheese puffs and all I know is I need to convince my husband to want Chinese for dinner tonight because I want more. The wonton soup was good. Tried this place with my family and a few friends. It is a very nicely decorated restaurant. They seem to have a really steady flow for take out and seem to have multiple regulars as well. The owner is very hands-on. The dishes I recommend are the garlic sesame cucumbers. It's full of garlicky spice and very delicious! It basically made me crave it for a couple of weeks after. The cheese puffs are fairly large and really well done and I think are a must-have appetizer. Also, their duck is pretty juicy. The service is exceptional.
