The staff are incredibly fun and friendly, always ready to serve up delicious, authentic Vietnamese food--or pizza, if that's what you're in the mood for. On paper, VPho is an odd mix: New York-style pizza by the slice or pie alongside flavorful Vietnamese dishes. But somehow, it works. The location still has classic pizza shop vibes but has plenty of seating for smaller groups. Prices are very reasonable, and for my Pelham Parkway locals, here's a solid move--grab some bánh mì to go on your way to a Yankees game. Whether you're craving a great slice or some legit Vietnamese food, this spot delivers. And don't forget to say hello to my guy Miguel, the local pizza legend.

I wish my pho broth was filled to the top, that is the reason for the four and not five stars. I do think I would have enjoyed it had I stayed in to eat. Next time I will because I will be back for that sandwich I forgot to purchase. Overall this spot gets a thumbs up and I would recommend. Happy Yelping!

This place is incredibly easy to miss unless you're intentionally looking for it. I've gone past it…read moreso many times without a clue this establishment was even there. I loved the ambiance of the place, it was so cozy, warm and relaxing. The music they were playing matched perfectly with the vibe and aesthetics of the place, it was soft and romantic in a way. There are plenty of tables available for groups or solo dates. This is a perfect place to sit down and journal or get some work done. I literally only waited 10 minutes from start to finish to get my takeout, I sat down on one of the available tables and immediately started reading my Bible app, truly relaxing. Half of the tablets were occupied but everyone appeared to be relaxed and just enjoying their meals so the noise level was low. If you're waiting for takeout they give you a ticket and then bring your takeout to the table you're at. If you ordered in advance for a pick up you just walk to the counter and they hand over your food. The staff were friendly and graceful. While I was ordering my food at the counter, I was able to see the staff handling some of the food. They were plating, and I was pleasantly surprised with the fact that all of them were wearing gloves even while they were taking the prepared food to the tables. You get 5% off your bill if you pay with cash. There are no atms inside. Now let's talk about the actual food, the star of the show. I ordered the claypot braised pork belly and I was notttt disappointed! This meal was such a unique experience. I am used to eating very flavorful and well seasoned dishes overall so I've tasted plenty of dishes that had more flavor than this. However, I have never enjoyed a dish that was so intentional with all of its textures and tastes. The rice was soft and light, and the vegetables had the perfect amount of crunch and spice, while the pork had a mild sweetness to it. The egg was a perfect add on to put it all together. This is the kind of plate that you have to truly eat everything it's served with to fully enjoy all of the different textures and flavors that it brings. If any of the spices or flavors would've been overwhelming, it would take away from the other flavors every item on the plate has to offer. I put a little of everything with each bite, yummm. The only flaw with the dish unfortunately is that the larger portions of the pork were chewy and a bit dry, which based on other reviews seems to be a thing. The smaller pieces were very tender and delicious. I will definitely order again from here. I'm excited to try their homemade soda, coffees and their summer/spring roles Happy yelping and enjoy

Overall though it's a small space, well lit, clean with a nice ambiance. Food? In this instance I ordered two dishes which are what I consider mainstays of any Vietnamese restaurant... I ordered a Bahn Mi and Pho. I have to say, on both counts they scored hits with the food. Both were well done and tasty and there are no complaints there. I would recommend them for people liking good Vietnamese. I'd even say it wouldn't be a bad place to dine in, I think they had a radio and TVs going and I'd be a little reluctant only because of noise level but I did like the bright space and the layout and color design of the restaurant. It's a modern and very compelling space to be in for a meal.

District Saigon, a Vietnamese restaurant, was a nice surprise in Astoria. I am pleased to say this…read moreplace had a great "perfect pair" lunch deal for $16. You get your choice of pho: vegan, beef, or chicken and half a sandwich of your choice. We both got the round steak pho and one traditional banh mi and one chicken banh mi. Honestly, having a half sandwich and a small bowl of pho really hit the spot and was surprisingly filling. Traditional Banh Mi: (4/5) sandwich was tasty and had the cold cuts with the pickled carrots. If they toasted the bread then I think it would make it even better. Chicken Banh Mi: (3/5) chicken had a nice lemongrass flavor but overall was just okay. The traditional one was much better. Round Steak Pho: (4/5) the broth was nice and lighter than my usual beef pho but still tasty. I like my pho with a wedge of lime, fresh basil and bean sprouts. So if they forget to give it to you, just ask for it. Although the restaurant may seem narrow but it's long and has plenty of tables in the back. The music is a little loud and club like but otherwise, I had a great experience here. So if you're in Astoria, I would highly suggest this place for their great lunch deal. Can't be beat!

This place feels like a hidden gem you almost want to keep secret... but it's just too good not to share. What makes Pho Metro stand out right away is how authentic it feels. You can tell this is truly a labor of love. One guy runs the show and somehow manages to do it all, from cooking to serving, and the care he puts into the food absolutely shows in every single bite. It has that comforting, homemade quality that makes you feel like you've stepped into a small family kitchen rather than just another restaurant. The food itself is outstanding. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, from the herbs to the broth. I highly recommend the thin noodles with the spicy lemongrass broth (you can request this if it's not listed). It's bursting with flavor, slightly tangy, perfectly spicy, and deeply savory in a way that warms you from the inside out. Every spoonful feels like a cozy blanket on a cold day. The summer rolls are another must-order. They're fresh, light, and packed with flavor, and the peanut sauce that comes with them is absolutely delicious. It's rich, savory, and addictive enough that you'll find yourself scraping the cup to get every last drop. Another detail I really appreciated is how everything you need is right at your fingertips. All the sauces are readily available at the table, so you can customize your bowl exactly how you like it without having to ask or wait. It makes the whole experience feel easy, comfortable, and welcoming. And don't skip the Thai iced tea. It's perfectly sweet, creamy, and refreshing, especially alongside the bold flavors of the pho. It's the kind of drink that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. Overall, this place delivers on flavor, authenticity, and heart. It's rare to find a spot where you can truly taste the effort and pride in every dish, but Pho Metro does exactly that. I will absolutely be returning again and again. If you're in the area, make the stop. You won't be disappointed.
