This place has everything you need to start your culinary journey into Thai cooking. It's located in a busy area. Parking here is tough, there's meters but its not a nice neighborhood, lots of shady characters about. I went during the day & after going around a couple of times found a meter in front. They speak English & offer help if you tell them what you need. They don't want any photography inside, I think it's because they have a collection of every bootleg Thai movie covering one wall. But over all they carry fresh Thai items that are hard to find. I bought fresh Thai basil, galangal, chilies & lemongrass. I'm happy I found this place. Happy Yelping!

Nice change of pace from 99% of the other markets in the area. That bucket of tofu in water in the back fridge looks a little sketchy, but y'know: live a little. Nice selection of juices and canned items you're not likely to find elsewhere nearby; you'll find me here copping canned jackfruit when I'm about that vegan "pulled pork" life. This and the Vietnamese spot over on Jerome make a fine pair. This place sports the more plentiful produce overall, but the other tends to have a wider herb selection (lemon basil, wuttttttt).

Amazing Khmer market with hard to find SE Asian ingredients like finger root and fresh mint.

The interior of Joe's is awesome, with the walls stocked with a great supply of Italian cooking fare. As you journey towards the deli counter you're immediately greeted with an offer to sample the fresh, house made mozzarella. Captain obvious pro tip: SAMPLE THE MOZZ To put it plainly, this was the best mozzarella I have ever had in my life, and I am someone who enjoys his mozz. It had a delicious milky flavor, was extremely smooth, and had a wonderful salt profile that took it to another level. It was truly amazing. I could go on about it forever, but in the essence of time... Our intent was to order 2 chicken parm heroes, but the man at the counter who gave us the mozz sample recommended the 'Brontese' and after reading the ingredients (Prosciutto diParma, fresh mozz, wild arugula, Sicilian pistachio cream, evoo, cracked pepper) I went for it. Needless to say it may have been the best deli sandwich I've ever had. The way the pistachio combined with the prosciutto and mozzarella-but didn't overtake it, was amazing. So to go along with my Brontese, we ordered a Chicken Parm, and a Bronx Bee (crispy chicken cutlet, hot honey drizzle, fresh mozz, sweet soppressata, hot cherry peppers, baby arugula) and loved them all. Outrageous value as sandwich prices are extremely reasonable. Awesome experience at Joe's. The staff was incredible...helpful, kind, and went out of their way to talk food with us. The location and atmosphere were perfect. And the food....you have to try it to believe it.

All in all, it's a great spot, and I can definitely see us coming back the next time we're in the area. The interior is classic Italian deli market, lined with shelves fully stocked with great Italian cooking staples. It's a classic, perfect neighborhood deli setup that gives you that local little Italy vibe. The Italian sandwich was really good--packed with ham, cotto salami, and mortadella, with incredible, well-balanced flavors. All on a tasty sesame seed soft roll. Even my daughter, who isn't usually a sandwich person, took a few bites! Prices are fair for what you get. The sandwich was so large, we saved 1/2 to eat in the Zoo later in the day. The staff was solid--helpful and kind. I was a little sad we didn't get the fresh mozzarella samples that a lot of Yelp reviews mentioned. The other minor downside was the wait: it took nearly 15 minutes to get our sandwich, which is probably the longest I've ever waited for an Italian sub. Still, a great overall experience. More importantly, the price to value "mathed!"

It was an amazing sandwich--the mozzarella was so fresh and all the flavors melded well together. Great crunch of the ciabatta crust and the bread was fluffy inside. Portion size was also great for a $12 sandwich. Highly highly recommend. The shop has a lot of Italian imported goods and it was fun to look at the variety of things too.

From the moment we walked in, it was all that I wanted- reminiscent of the Italian shops and delis my parents would take me to when I was a kid. The ambiance told me right away that the sandwich I sought (the 'Casa') was going to be good....as did the two guys in line ahead of me, one who went so far as to say it would be life changing. Service was great- super helpful and patient as we perused the counter. Wanting to be thorough () we ordered two Casa's....one on Ciabatta, and one on a hero. First off....both bread vehicles were incredible. The hero was crunchy on the outside, perfectly soft on the inside, while the ciabatta was perfectly thin (allowing you to fully enjoy all of the fresh, delicious ingredients), with a golden crust. Just perfect. Oh yeah- the ingredients.... The Casa is filled with perfectly sliced prosciutto, house made mozzarella, sun dried peppers, and balsamic glaze. The balsamic tied everything together beautifully and was a wonderful touch to the sandwich, while the mozz....well...I'll say this... If you ask 10 people on Arthur Ave who makes the best Mozzarella around, and a good number of people are going to tell you it's Casa Della. And I'm here to tell you that their Mozzarella is the truth. It's delicious, creamy, flavorful...it's the kind of stuff that will have you standing in front of the establishment, Casa in hand (and mouth) without a care in the world, or whether or not people are staring at you while you scarf or down. It's that good. Also- prices are extremely reasonable, and you receive a ton of value for your dollar. Casa Della Mozzarella is not just the Casa. They are a fully loaded market and deli, loaded with everything you need, whether for a quick lunch on the go, or to supply dinner or your fridge at home. Definitely a can't miss, must check out spot.

The Neighbourhood is chock, full of restaurants, pastry shops, meat markets, seafood shops, but the center of it all, is the Arthur Avenue retail market. It's a fantastic place. All of your shopping in one indoor space. You can get your groceries, your Italian meats, your veggies, you can stop in and have a beer, you can buy cigars, they had the only T-shirt shop that I saw up here, when Mulberry Street is full of them. You can get gelato, you can have a good glass of wine, you can have dessert, etc..... I stopped into Mike's deli (separate review) and tried the veal Parm that went up against Bobby Flay. It was excellent. I also stopped in at the end of my visit, to O'ccaffe, (separate review ) the pastry and coffee place right at the entrance to the market. The cappuccino was amazing, but the cannoli was a little bit different. I've always had my cannolis with a crisp shell. This cannoli, had a soft shell. The filling was excellent, but I just would've preferred a hard shell. Other than that, everything was fantastic. This place is worth a visit. Thank you.
