On top of that, our server forgot to bring out the dipping sauce, and we had to flag him down to ask for it. The best Bun Bo Hue that I've had in the NY/NJ area! Tastes super authentic! The broth is perfectly seasoned- Not too sweet and just the right amount of spiciness. Short wait time as they were busy on a Sunday. Staff mixed of friendly and pushy. One waitress literally watched over my shoulder 2 mins after giving me the menu. This has quickly become my go-to spot for pho whenever I'm in the area. The Short Rib Pho by far contains the most meat I've ever seen come in a single order of food, period. They also bring out the huge bone as proof to where all of the meat came from. However, the pho itself is not the star of the show, rather it's the bahn mi! In my opinion, it's probably the best bahn mi in the area, which comes out extra warm, toasty and delectable. Came here to eat with a friend and the place was disgusting. Flies all over our table/food area, couldn't get any photos of the flies as they were too fast. I got a visit by a cockroach however, killed it as it ran near my table, absolutely disgusting. If there are flies and roaches near us, who knows what the kitchen looks like. I got the Bunh Bo Hue expecting to get a nice spicy broth. My soup looked like a pho, very difficult to differentiate the pho broth from this Bunh Bo Hue. I prefer this Pho Today location over the Rutherford one - and to be honest, this is probably the best pho spot in North Jersey. While the quality can be inconsistent, the broth is decent and the amount of protein is generous. I always get the Special Pho - a pho with diverse protein sources that always hits a spot. And for those who are adventurous - the pork banh me is a fantastic alternative to pho. The service can also be inconsistent but usually adequate. Some of the best casual, low-cost Vietnamese food we've had in NJ so far. Pho Today is part of a chain of Vietnamese restaurants in NJ and, so far, it's on our list of repeat go-to restaurants since we moved to the state. The food here is as delicious as it gets for your everyday Vietnamese restaurant. You will find your pho, vermicelli and rice plates here, but it seems that they have just a bit more variety than I typically see at Vietnamese restaurants. Since it was our 1st time at Pho Today, we decided to splurge a little bit more than we normally do and ordered for a table of 3 adults, even though in reality we were a table 2.5. I will be the first to admit that we've all been there where we wanted to try more than we can eat. Our wallets might not like it, but our stomachs sureeeee do. Being that we knew we were going to order 3 entrees, we decided to skip on the appetizers. I know, how could we???? What type of foodies are we? This is where our conscious stepped in and limited us to 3 entrees because we already knew 3 full entrees were too much. We ended up ordering the following 3 dishes: C1. Com Tam Today - Grilled pork chop, shredded pork, egg quiche, spring roll, fried shrimp tofu and omelet on rice. Most grilled meats are marinated in sesame oil. B1. Bun Dac Biet - Special bun grilled pork, grilled shrimp, grilled beef and spring roll on rice vermicelli. P11. Create your own Pho - Gau, Nam, Chin (Fat Brisket, Well Done Flank, Well Done Brisket) First, ALL 3 dishes were delicious! We ordered the pho for our son, but we had some of it and the broth was really, really tasty. So much so that I ended up slurping the whole thing up (BURP). We asked for the brisket and flank to be well done and, despite that, it was STILL tender and had good flavors. As for the Bun, one of the best buns I ever had, seriously! The rice vermicelli was perfect and there was an ample amount of meat. The spring roll was not your typical Vietnamese spring roll, in my opinion, but it fit well still and was super crunchy. Maybe we could have used 1 more shrimp since there were only 2, but small gripe. The pork chop rice plate was also fantastic. We loved the portioning and, once again, all of the meats were excellent. To top it off, my wife and I ordered a Thai Tea and Iced Salt Lemonade. First, my wife loved her Iced Salt Lemonade. I had a few sips of it and, if you're wondering what it is, well, it's literally like drinking a salty lemonade. I know, not much of a description. As for the Thai Tea --- freakin' good! Absolutely get it! It wasn't a Thai Iced Tea, nor did it taste like it. If I could relate it to one thing, I would say it was like a refreshing JASMINE Thai Iced Tea. Overall, the food here was great, but service was rather blah in terms of attitude. Also, since the restaurant is part of the Washington Bridge Plaza Strip Mall, there is a parking lot connected, so no circling for parking! Fortunately, for those planning on coming here, Kura Revolving Sushi Bar gets most of the attention in the strip mall, which was fine by me. I came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with my family. I usually go to Saigon Kitchen but thought I should check this place out since I've never been before. We ordered the filet mignon pho and the combo bun dac biet (grilled pork, grilled shrimp, spring roll vermicelli bowl). The pho was large and there's a lot of meat. The broth was a bit bland though. The combo bun was huge and the pork was grilled perfectly. The portions were larger but the dishes were more expensive than other Vietnamese places in the area. Service was fast and friendly.
