After speaking with 4 other vendors, Scott Porter, Estimator / Project Manager / Superintendent by far was the expert in the field. The knowledge and experience Scott brings to the table could not be touched by any of the other contractors. Our experience with the other contractors seemed to be just sales people just trying to make a quota. With Fred Shearer & Sons you will not only find experience, you will also find architectural details being adhered to during the process. Chris, the plasterer worked each area of our home to perfection. There is not an area where you can see any signs of patches. With experience comes higher expenses. You will pay for the quality. I don't want to fool you, this is not an easy task and it's not for the faint at heart. Watching your home being torn apart and rebuilt. We had water damage repaired externally and our fireplace finished in Venetian plaster. With any major work during a pandemic, expect minor delays and problems. We did not experience any. Chris showed up every time with masks and safety items. Not only caring for his safety but also respecting ours. Our project was massive, we have three buildings on our property and all three were being repaired to new. Stucco in the PNW is not common or wise. thought fred shearer was based in tigard, or, but couldn't find a yelp in that region, and chose…read morethis one.....we had a re-piping done at a 1920 duplex, and were in need of a plasterer...we did some research and came across local 82, the plasterer's union, who were real nice and informative ....they referred to a plasterer with fred shearer and sons, named chris haynes, who had a lot of experience...a voice mail was left on his phone, and he called right back.....he set up an appt to view the work, and submitted the info to brittany park, the estimator at fred shearer and sons...she quickly gave us the estimate, and after signing the contract, chris called back to schedule....he could begin the work promptly and work at 0700, yay, for 3 days, plus an hr on the 4th day....he was superb, communicated what was needed, cleaned up, and did a amazing professional job..he worked real well with the tenant too......this was one of the most pleasant experiences with a project....thx so much

When they first said Pumpkin Ridge was coming out I asked if they were bringing FALL and a scented candle. Just the name made me feel FALL lol We had a shower that needed caulking. A broken bathroom sink. And a toilet paper holder that we kept forgetting to ask about. FIXED. Ernesto was WONDERFUL. He was SO friendly. So courteous. Our dogs both loved him. It was so quiet while he worked we barely noticed him here. He was SO courteous and friendly. I appreciated the company rescheduling the first time because my husband forgot NOT to use the shower (we had to get it caulked), and so we went from Friday to Monday for our appointment. Monday we got a call to ask if they could reschedule for today since their tech was running late with a plumbing issue. I said NO problem since the first reschedule was my fault. Ignacio (who did the communication and scheduling), was so accommodating. So fast forward to today - Tuesday. We had to have five smoke detectors replaced. Wouldn't you know that TODAY at around 8:30am they started beeping. Lol. All good. EXCEPT my small dog thinks that is as stressful as fireworks. SO I had a very TALL friend's husband come and take them down because we went from 1/5 beeping to 3/5 beeping. Then while my friend's husb was here, the downstairs detector went full on alarm. Ha ha ha. So I called Ignacio and asked if there was any way that someone could come earlier for the smoke detectors. Look - if I did scheduling I'd have said no unfortunately sorry yada yada but NO. Ignacio said I can have someone there to do JUST the smoke detectors between 11-1. And they were here. In the earlier side. Cody came out (former Floridian as well!) and was wonderful. Installed all 5 of our new 10 year (WHAT) smoke detectors between for us. Cody was also super professional and kind. I CANNOT recommend them highly enough. Great people great work. A month rolled by and I called back to see when they would get back to me and never heard from them , typical Bend contractor with to much work but let me give them and others a tip, if you are overburdened with to much work just don't pick up the phone or make commitments you don't intend on keeping because one day, think 2008 you may not have any work and may be knocking on doors begging for some. Now, I am very hard to impress but Dave and Blue Star are amazing! They always arrive in time as scheduled, they do perfect work, clean up after themselves, and ensure a complicated system is working safely. Then Dave and Adam show up to install the tank and they negotiate a huge dual-wheel truck with a crane between my garden and my grape vines! They literally had about 2" clearance on either side of the truck and didn't damage a thing! Fantastic! These guys are awesome!

I kept all the records and was watching them over charge and I just so wanted away from this company. I stupidly paid for the gas they delivered and they came in after my house burned and took the full bottle and I didn't get a dime back. I hate this company. $380 they STOLE from me. Bad bad bad. This is after my house burned with everything I owned in int including my three dogs.and the woman skag manager thing knew that my records burned so I couldn't prove that I paid so she wouldn't let me deal with the woman employee that knew I had paid. She just told me that they didn't owe me anything. I really hate this company. Check your billings people this company is nasty.
