An organization I am a part of needed matching dresses and hawaiian shirts. We chose the style and material. Everyone just needed to get measured. We got put outfits and I was so happy with the the design. It even had pockets! For a custom made dress it was definitely worth the value. The seamstress has to cut the material then sew and the quality check. That is like 5 to 8 hours of work! I spent extra for pockets, so it was under $195. Ya we could have gone to Macys and picked matching dresses, but honestly the quality and design here will last longer. We have worn our dresses multiple times and have come back for more custom work for years. Overall I love the service and the selection. I bought two beautiful long muʻumuʻu, as that is the dress code to be a volunteer at ʻIolani Palace, and I didn't have any. They were not busy that weekday morning when we visited, so we waited about 15 minutes while one was hemmed up. I am short (5'1") so dresses and muʻumuʻu are often too long on me off the rack. I was looking for a dress for a work event and browsed the store looking for something in red. I asked her if I should try the size I normally wear and she told me to go up one size. I tried on a red dress- it was pretty. She pulled a green dress for me to try- also very pretty. Then she pulled a style and color I would never have even considered. I tried it on & I loved it! I've been to the original location on Kapiolani Boulevard and got a fabulous floor length dress at a good price! I wore it to my cousin's wedding, a Yelp event, and an alumni event at my high school. The dress style, color, and design got many compliments! I knew that the shop was moving. I had read my friend, Ward's review about the new location on Cooke Street. Yay! Just in time for the Dinner En Blanc! Yes... Every year, the Dinner En Blanc (Dinner in White) has a secret location. All participants are to wear white clothing. I had tried to attend in the past, but seats always fill up quickly. This year, the Dinner En Blanc would be virtual - many more people were able to attend. I had even won Champagne and Caviar through an Instagram Contest sponsored by Yelp Hawaii and Chef Mavro! Woot woot! And now I needed a white outfit... I looked at two Ross stores. They had white, short dresses - nothing outstanding. In my heart, I knew I wanted a mu'umu'u. I could do the local thing and wear white plumeria earrings to match! LOL! Plus, with a long dress, no one really looks at your footwear! (I couldn't find my white sandals anyway.) The new location of T&L Muumuu Factory (in Kaka'ako) is better because there's more free parking (even though the interior seems smaller). There's still a lot of selection and everything is organized well according to size and color. I had a choice between two white, floor length mu'umu'u. I took the one with the plain skirt because the fabric was softer, flowed better, and draped nicely. The cashier offered me different sizes and styles, but I stuck with my gut instinct. I showed my new white mu'umu'u to my mom, neighbor, niece, and a couple of friends. They all approved. A stranger even approached me and asked if I was going to dance hula. I laughed and told her that she probably wouldn't want to see me stumble around with two left feet! Haha! Note: right now, T&L Muumuu Factory is having a sale! The nice cashier gave me 15 percent off! P.S. the service here is attentive! While I was in the dressing room, the told me to take my time. My better half was looking for aloha wear (mumu's) for our next adventure. She remembered this place when it used to be located on Kapiolani Blvd. They have tons of dresses in many different styles. They also have men's and children's clothing as well. There is limited free parking right in front of the store and on the side of the building. I randomly found this place during a walk and was intrigued. I was very excited because I was interested in some affordable local Aloha wear and wanted to look around for something. I was respectful, kind, and asked the seamstress if i could leave my bag behind her register so that they wont assume that i was a theif. The customer service was ghetto!!! I told the seamstress that I wanted to look around and she walked off back to her sewing table and started gossiping about me to another seamstress. "she want to look aROoUunD. She waste my time. Why she want waste my time? I nO have time. You buy and you go!" She said something else in her own language. I would give them 0 stars for the nasty attitude but I can't. They did have great aloha wear and the prices were good but I'm not spending money with hateful, stinky, disrectful services. Maybe she had a bad day. Maybe she's the only one there that has that dismissive attitude. I was literally going to look around with the intent to buy. It's called shopping. The store is on a close out sale since Covid happened but I believe they are still open to sell whatever they have in store. I love this shop! It's my go to whenever there's a church big event going on. Their muumuus are tailored perfectly for the price they charge. They also provide couple sets but the options are limited so best of luck if you want matching outfits. My fiancé and I got ours for a little over $100 but we know aloha dresses and shirts are pricey currently and T&L Muumuu factory charges reasonably. I have always wanted a traditional long muumuu and never liked shopping online since I'm petite. This trip I finally went shopping in search of one and found it here. I tried one on that was a bit long, and the lady was willing to remove the bottom ruffle and hem then replace the ruffle. That is service! I ended up getting one that didn't need hemming. Due to COVID19, we all need to have some type of masks. I'm not talented, so I ordered one mask (Shelter in Place). The web site had a warning said they couldn't tell when they can ship it due to high volume of orders. I waited for several days, then I contacted T&L. They responded me right away said according to my order date, they should be able to send me a mask in a day or so. I received a package next day. And noticed I received 2 masks instead of 1. I contacted them again, and they said because I paid quite a bit shipping charge for one mask, so they gave me another one. I really thank you for their generous gesture and kindness. I came in with my daughter looking for a mu'u for an upcoming performance and trying to find something that was "me" and yet was long enough (I am 6') I found a beautiful dress in aqua with a kapa cloth print and fell in love.
