Fantastic place to stop in for breakfast if your passing through or in the area. We stopped in for breakfast and it was great!! Also trried a blueberry Danish as well and it didn't disappoint! Cozy little diner on Main Street Markham. As per other yelpers reviews, I can contest that this is a classic diner stuck in the early 80s. The decor is old. Tables and chairs are limited. Very busy, almost always. You have to pre pay for your food and there is no table service. Moving onto the food. It can be hit and miss. I've had great breakfast here, nothing spectacular, as you would expect since it's so cheap. Service is whatever. Again, can't expect much from a place like this. I love this place. I think this place was an old truck stop. It has the greatest breakfasts. I enjoy the specials on the board. You can't go wrong. It takes a bit of time to get your food but, it is home cooked for you. It is probably one of my favourite places in Markham. The atmosphere is so welcoming. You could sit inside or (now outside). They have complimentary news papers (pre-covid) and they always serve you with a smile. They even give you a coffee refills for free. I feel this place makes me stop and smell the roses. T&T Bakery is a surviving piece of old Markham. The owner Sebastien took over from his parents and continues with the delicious home style food. The decor hasn't changed in decades. Some call it dated, but it's part of the charm for long time customers. Sebastien catered our Markham Kiwanis Club meetings for years. Since the club wound up, he continues to provide delicious food for our Christmas reunions. The desserts, especially the butter tarts and chocolate eclairs are out of this world. If you're looking for wifi or the latest fashions, you can always go somewhere else, but for good food and friendly service in the old Town of Markham, T&T is my choice. read more

This place has been in Markham for ages. I only visited recently because I moved in the area. The food was really good - I got the bagel BLT which was really really good. The bagel was similar to a twister bagel you'd get at other places. They were also not cheap on bacon (which is always a good thing). My husband got the breakfast with poached eggs and was very satisfied. The service was good. What others said in the reviews is true - you have to get used to the idea of self service (ie picking up your own utensils, butter, etc). Also, you have to get up and pay for coffee refills. Also note, It's CASH ONLY. My only improvement point on this place is the cleanliness and decor. It's very old and outdated. I usually quite like this little family run bakery. While the establishment is dated, the fare is home cooked and usually quite pleasant. Yesterday, they really shit the bed though. We placed our breakfast order and waited with coffees. During our almost hour-long wait, others arrived and were served straight away (with essentially the same order). What was supposed to be a nice family (birthday) breakfast, turned into an acrimonious ordeal. We ended up leaving without a meal or an apology. I don't think i'll be going back. I love this place. My daughter and I eat here all the time and I always bring friends. Portions are very generous. We need more home cooked food like this in Markham and less chain restaurants. They also do sandwich and desert trays here for evens (I have ordered 2 times, once for a funeral and once for a birthday). They helped me load my car. Everyone at both event complimented them too. I love this place! T & T is my go to for breakfast or lunch. I haven't had anything I don't like, but my favourite is the BLT on a bagel (home made twist bagels mmmmm) or their French toast... I can't decide which I like more. Also, their quiches are great for cheap, quick lunch. It can be a long wait during busy times, but if you call ahead for pick up, it'll save a ton a time. Wait time was long, the female owner does not apologize and even has the audacity to tell me no one has ever waited for that long. Oh they also charged us extra for coffee refills despite our complaint. And the food? Nothing special. My poached egg was more on the cooked side than runny. T & T is great if you like a 'diner breakfast' experience, but a little better. T & T is not about being upscale or trendy, at ALL. It's a family-run place with outdated decor and basic, fresh food which is almost always delicious and is consistent. Yummy breakfasts and sandwiches, delicious quiche and salad combo every day (I don't know how they keep their salad so fresh!), and many delish desserts, some of which are made in house. They do take out and also pre-orders for parties and such. Because it has become a mainstay for those who are regulars, it is ALWAYS busy, but we seem to get a table even so. Sometimes the family and employees are a little harangued but it's always a good meal. T&T has long been one of my favourite cafes in Markham. My parents used to take me here as a child, and I have continued to go back on a regular basis whenever I am back in town from school. While the staff can be a little impatient, the service is great overall, and the food is fantastic. Their homemade pies and soups are my favourite things to order. Everything is homemade from scratch (from what I know) and you can really tell. Plus, the prices are fantastic for what you get! I recommend this place to everyone. My family and I waited for 40mins after we ordered, so we got up to ask for an update politely but was rudely told that "nobody waits for 40mins". I get that it's a small family run business, I wasn't expecting top notch service and expected to wait but not to be accused of lying about wait time. I am going to say however that there is an undertone of racism emanating in the staff. Maybe it's in my mind but I have noticed they are super friendly to certain people that are regulars and I would consider myself a regular. They know them by name and greet them. I'm always excited to go there for breakfast! Everything looks and tastes OH SO GOOD. My favourite is their waffles with strawberries, whipped cream and bacon, definitely better than cora's waffles in quality and price (sorry to all the cora fanatics out there). Besides the waffles, I would highly recommend their cheese danishes, milkshakes, turkey pies, bagels, cheesecake, grilled cheese, scones, and soup. Re-reviewing this restaurant after our last 2 visits were a bust out of 5 visits --- terrible customer service after we waited 30min for our pancakes and bacon. The paunchier waitress with the blond ponytail nearly accused us of being bad customers by saying "I said it's coming out....I said I think I see your order in the kitchen..." ..........no apologies or "sorry for the wait"....as if it was our fault. I think Public Health should also be called in to take a look at this greasy spoon because if they saw the state of their washrooms, peeling wallpaper, and poor ventilation anybody would lose their appetite. read more

This is the best place to go for breakfast in Markham. It is a family-owned, homey kind of place that is always busy. They have the very best blueberry pancakes and bacon, made fresh, which is my favourite thing to order, but everything on the board is tasty and fresh. They also have daily lunch specials such as pierogies and polish sausage with sauerkraut and pretty good sandwiches as well. A popular item they have is homemade quiche, different ones each day and they are definitely worth trying for lunch. The prices are very reasonable but it gets quite busy at lunchtime and on weekends so finding a table can be difficult, especially with a bigger group. The treats and desserts are also very yummy. They make cookies, squares and tarts and sometimes there is even homemade bread pudding which is de-lish! I most definitely recommend this place. The breakfast is very good but it takes FOREVER to get your food. The kitchen cooks up one order at a time so if there are 15 tables (not to mention takeout), they cook each order individually - no multi-tasking here! So for example, we arrived for breakfast at 10:30 am, it wasn't until 11:20 am that we got our food and that's after asking for it twice. The decor dates back to the 70's - it's actually a throwback to a 'Shwa diner - staff & all. They can really use some new cutlery and dishes and a thorough wall/vent cleaning. Actually I remember going in on one of the rare occasions and they served breakfast on paper plates - WTF!!! So if you can overlook the dumpy decor & slow service - the food is good. read more

So a few of my family and I were in t & t bakery for breakfast ,I noticed it was not to busy ordered our food sat down waited about 30 plus min asked waitress if it was going to be much longer she said no another 15 to 20 min go buy still nothing!! So I noticed that all the other 5 tables had gotten there food. So I asked her again what was taking so long she said that our omelettes were taking longer than they should so I pointed out that the other tables that ordered after us had omelettes and pancakes and we simple just wanted our food. I think by this point she was just trying to give us any excuse just to keep us quiet. So about 45 min in time we get our food. The cook came out which we did notice he was the owner. We asked him why is it that our food was out last and the 5 tables after us got there food. And that's when he went to being defensive and rude towards a little kid and his family it was clear. He did not wanna hear about why we we asking and clearly upset about our food. He outright was talking down to us making us feel uncomfortable while being in his place. Telling us if we did not like it to go else where. This is a place that we go and eat in every weekend spend our hard earned money in and simple we were not happy with this day. We have been going there for a 5 years. This man was talking to us this way in front of all the costumers not caring the whole time that all we were asking was why it was talking so long. He could have simply came to us and said sorry!!! This guy did not give 2 shits about why we were upset and simply just asking about our order. We always tip the staff very well when we go into this pace. I have noticed in the past that he had talked to other paying costumers that way never knowing why always thinking maybe they were just upset over whatever. Now I really know why. We will be going to the news paper and posting and add about this guy and how he treated us. He was outright in the wrong to act the way he did. That's part of the charm of this old, breakfast diner type place. I'm actually shocked to see people comment on decor and lack of wifi. Are you kidding me? You're here to have a cheap breakfast while supporting a small business that's been around for years. I didn't realize you needed Internet access for that. The sandwiches are amazing. I'm addicted to the bacon and pea meal bacon sandwiches! The only cons I can think of is the wait time can be long during peak hours but again it's a small place and unfortunately that can be the case. Also I find the homefries could be cooked longer! Nice to have a more classic, mom-and-pop style diner on Main St, but needs a little TLC re: cleanliness, ventilation, and overall layout. I haven't eaten here much for those reasons. Recently stopped in and ordered take-away decaf coffee and raisin tea biscuit. Coffee was fine. Tea biscuit? Not so much. Had only four raisins in it, and they were gritty with stems. Also had a strange taste, almost as though the dough was rolled out on a board that had remnants of meat or perhaps garlic or onions on it.
