    rode, arrogant and disorganized service. we walked in with no signs indicating where to order and waited around for five minutes with no server to sit us down, resulting in us ordering from the product cashier instead. We asked TWICE to confirm if we could sit the the dinner area to enjoy our meal and the cashier repeated confirmed. However, when we sat down, the sever abruptly interrupted us and asked us to move. Basically kicking their own customers out to make space for other customers. is that not clear discrimination? we payed the same amount, more effort and was even willing to tip, yet the store deem and treat us less than other customers. They dared to blame us for not knowing even though there were no signs or other informations written. worst experience dinning out. ruined our day with their shit attitude.

    Variety of baked sweets open on display on shelves. There are bagels to select in the back and basic sandwiches, salads and drinks to order at the cash. We got half a dozen of mix bagels and they literally were just scooped out of the oven... so fresh! There were only 2 people in front of us in line, but it was a long wait to cash out. The lady doesn't seem very happy but was just doing her job. I was surprised that the bagels had sprinkled salt on top, I found that strange and it made it more like a pretzel. The texture was more like bread; fluffy and bun like instead of a chewy dense Montreal-style bagel. But the cheese boureka was delicious and flaky! Quality: average Service: sub average Ambiance: eh

    Rainbow bagel with lox and jalepeno cream cheese;

    Back at it again for my rainbow bagel! It was quite business in store around 8:30 am. I mean, the dining area was pretty empty with only one couple sitting in, but the small area for grab n' go was buzzing! I walked into the store to see at least 2-3 customers and after requesting my bagel, I look behind me to see another 2-3 people had come in after me. I did appreciate that everyone tried to keep their distance though. The man behind me was actually 1-2 m away + to be honest, I find that doesn't always happen around this area. Thankfully, with the busy store, staff and were quite efficient. The lady who made my bagel into a sandwich with jalepeno cream cheese + lox was clearly very new but this also meant she had more attention to detail. I actually got the right cream cheese this time! Which tends to be missed every other visit.

    What a Bagel's Bagel is A-OK.. better than Tim Horton. There are 2 areas, one is set up like a bakery with cookies, bread, bagels and made to order sandwiches to go. The other area is more like a sit down restaurant serving light sandwiches for lunches and breakfasts. The Breakfast Bagel ($6.99) with home fries was quite good.. bagel toasted crispy on the outside and soft and chewy inside. Coffee ($1.99) was not fresh... doesn't matter how many cream I add in, it is still bittery dark... hmmmmm The decoration is quite comfortable and overlooking the parking lot... But why that 1 star?? The waitress is one of the rudest one I have... after I asked for my bill.. I just want to finish my coffee.. and then she trying to make me leave so a group of 5 ladies can use my single table while half of the tables in the restaurant is empty.. I asked are you trying to kick me out.. she told me yes... WTF is this?

    $11 - Mushroom omelette with goat cheese, salad, and bagel with cream cheese. Very tasty.

    I think it's implied that these guys have very tasty bagels. Especially, when they're toasted with cream cheese...mmm They offer a decent breakfast menu, perfect for those lazy Saturday mornings when you want to go out for breakfast. This morning, I tried their mushroom omelette with goat cheese, salad, and toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese. While the vinegar salad dressing was rather unpleasant, everything else was tasty. I wish they used portobello mushrooms instead of white cremini mushrooms in their omelettes though. Service was good too. No complaints in that department. Overall, I like their breakfast/brunch selection, as well as their wide selection of pastries and cookies. There's plenty of competition on this plaza with Aroma and Cafe Landwer - both great alternatives for breakfast and brunch. What a Bagel holds up to these other places quite well IMHO. I definitely recommend this What a Bagel location as a breakfast venue, but Aroma and Cafe Landwer are also great options.

    The best bagels in town! Very fresh, fluffy, soft, warm, and tasty! These are nothing like the packaged ones in supermarkets, it's a must try! This location doesn't have a lot of selection, however, unlike the old yonge street location (closed down recently). My personal favourites are the onion and cheese bagels, but this location had neither. They have more of the classics like sesame, plain, everything, etc. The service here is TERRIBLE. I went to checkout and I asked the cashier how much a loaf of bread was, she told me it was $4. I went to the tray to get a loaf and when I came back, she told me it's $4.49. She said it as if I wanted to not pay the extra $0.49. You tell me the wrong price and make it seem like it's my fault? 5/5 for bagel quality 2.5/5 for selection 0/5 for service

    My perfect breakfast - flat everything bagel with cream cheese (a little extra $), home fries and scrambled eggs with nana (mint) tea.

    Came here for Saturday morning breakfast with some family. Our server was very friendly and great with the kids. I had their breakfast special - bagel with house potatoes or salad and eggs of your choice My fave bagel there is the flat everything bagel Also had the nana (mint) tea A few at our table got the shakshuka, which is very tasty there One of the entrees (cheese blintzes) needed a little more time so she brought the child some small bourkeas so they could start eating too, which was very nice and our server brought a small birthday treat for me

    two pieces of french toast on a plate

    The French Toast was cold and tasted like egg. Would not recommend whatsoever. Asked for a side of fries and did not get that either.

    I know it sounds snobby, but I am usually not impressed by chains. Chains just seem so "fake" and "uncreative" to me. Yet, a friend of mine could not stop talking about an amazing breakfast she had at What A Bagel in Vaughn. What a Bagel? Seriously? I was so confused, that it actually piqued my curiosity, and just had to check out their breakfast for myself. So I made the trek to the burbs to determine whether my friend was full of shit. First thought: Damn this menu is huge! Second thought: Ok, it all does sound delicious! Dammit! Our order I ordered two scrambled eggs with home fries, and twister bagel (twister bagel is extra) and a side of avocado. I am shocked that I did not order bacon! Total was $6.99 plus an extra 0.75 for the twister bagel and $1.50 for the avocado. Grand total of $9.24 before tax and tip. If I could do it again, I would have ordered sweet potato fries instead. The home fries were fine, but not memorable. My friend ordered the breakfast wrap with a croissant with a 2 egg omelet, cream cheese, tomatoes and lettuce for $6.99 and a side of soup (a side of soup would have been $3.99 but it must have been less if she was upgrading it from a regular side - can't remember the price for the upgrade). And OMG, the soup was ridiculously good! It was a carrot and ginger soup that I found so impressive, that I had to buy some to go. In fact, it was SO good, that I bought a special blender just to try to make it at home! Overall, I found that the portions were excellent, and our coffee was consistently refilled, and near the end of our meal we were given mini-chocolate croissant-like pastries on the house. Once we paid, I had a blast sticking around watching the bagels being made! Argh! I hate to admit it, but I really did like the brunch at What a Bagel, and I would return in a heart beat. The only unfortunate thing about chains is that they are not all the same when it comes to service and quality. A What a Bagel just opened near my office, and so far it has failed to meet my expectations. But I am optimistic that they will be able to work out the kinks over the next few months. And if they don't, I will cry.

    Service is very slow. I got the cheese blintzes and they weren't very hot, just warm. A lady beside me also had the cheese blintzes and the same thing with her. She even had to send them back to be warmed up more.

I recently ate my entire stash of bagels from both trips. The good news is that Kettleman's is coming to Etobicoke this fall. I still needed bagels, though. I headed to my local grocery store recently to get some. They weren't and aren't the same. On Saturday, I visited St. Urbain bakery and cafe, which makes a variety of Montreal-style bagels. I was in heaven looking at roughly a dozen different bagel flavours at the back of the store. A older woman asked what I'd like. She didn't come across as being warm. I asked for six sesame and six cheddar bagels. She said that it was $0.25 more for each cheddar bagel. I was good with that, although she didn't wait for me to acknowledge that I was good with it. I got all bagels in a paper bag. Yay! I thanked her. I was so happy. I felt like I had won the lottery, except that I had to pay for my goods. This bakery offers cakes, cookies, flatbreads, and more. I decided to simply get my bagels before I cleaned my entire chequing account out at this store. The woman at the counter was much more personable. She put my goodies in a plastic bag and threw in a couple of bagel bags. I used my debit card to pay. Credit cards aren't accepted. You can pay with cash, too. I have had both bagel varieties since my visit. They are soft and chewy where they should be. The cheddar is brilliant and yummy. I've never had a cheddar one before until now. It's worth shelling out a bit to have one. There is something about crispy, oven-melted cheddar that tastes delicious. I made myself an egg salad sandwich today. Some like celery in it. I do, but changed it up with green onion. It's so good with the sesame bagel. This bakery is in a plaza with parking all around it. There's a huge Starbucks cafe a couple of doors down, so it does get busy. I parked on the opposite side of where this bakery is and walked over. I'm glad that I can get my fix without doing a huge road trip out east. I am thrilled that I have found this bagel place. I am a happy Montreal-style bagel fan. (374)

What stands out with this store is corn bagels. I have not seen this variety at any other bagel store. If you have been following me for even the last two months, you know that I have an healthy affection for bagels. After having a late lunch at The Corned Beef House, I noticed this Bagel Nash two doors down. Should I go in? It wasn't even a question. My feet automatically walked me into the store. Sugar-free cookies greeted me. Customers are interesting. Apparently, I was blocking a woman who was in a serious hurry on a Saturday afternoon. I stood in front of the bagel section for what seemed to be ten minutes. The corn ones were there. I saw these huge sesame ones. There are Montreal-style bagels that have poppy and sesame seeds on them. There was also cinnamon and a bunch more. Bagels are cheap here. A dozen go for $7. I went for it. I got four each of corn, Montreal, and jalapeno. This place also had a wonderful selection of baked goods and breads. I want to get a croissant next time. You can also get a deli sandwich. I liked looking at all the cream cheese spreads. The challah looked amazing. I can see making a bread pudding with it in my cards. I walked over to the cashout area. I let the woman know that I had a dozen bagels. She took me for my word, without even looking into my bag. Nice! She asked if I needed freezer bags. Even though I can inhale a dozen bagels in a few days, I asked for them. I paid using my debit card. The woman was friendly and wished me a nice day. I reciprocated. The freezer bags are wide. They aren't like the narrow ones that you typically get. They do the job. I have had the Montreal and corn bagels already. The Montreal one is a bit thin, but is delicious. The corn bagel is larger and it's just how I remember it to be. It's chewy with a hint of sweetness. I like this store. I'd come back. Staff are friendly and I love how fresh their bagels are. (455)

Rather than having businesses throw out food and have it go to waste at the end of the day, they sell it at reduced prices through the app. I decided to expand my search radius, which has been wonderful. I found Bravo Baklava and Bagels. I bought a surprise bag for $6. My pickup time was between noon and 7 pm yesterday. I took my time getting there on a Saturday, eventually arriving well before 2 pm. Bravo is in a plaza with a bunch of other stores, diagonally across from Canada's Wonderland. I found a parking spot and backed into it. I didn't do any research about Bravo before I headed over. I was delighted to see a sign saying that it's a Turkish bakery. I was in Istanbul several years ago. I absolutely loved hitting bakeries. I walked through the door and saw a fridge with fizzy drinks. I have not seen them since I was in Istanbul. It threw me back and I was incredibly happy. A lovely woman behind the counter said hi. I reciprocated. I looked at all the baklava in the display case. Wow! I was mesmerized. I let her know that it felt like being back in Istanbul. It felt so comfortable. I then indicated that I had a Too Good to Go order. I showed her my code and she started packing stuff for me. I liked that she described what I was getting. I was shocked at how much she was giving me. She showed me a generous slice of mango cake. She gave me two containers. She also gave me two bags of simits, which are Turkish bagels. These ones were huge and fully covered in sesame seeds. Each bag had four simits. I was so shocked to get so much food. She indicated that I should freeze the simits and take one out whenever I wanted one. She was so helpful. I looked at the puddings and desserts. I couldn't take my eyes off a baked good with a honey glaze, with some sesame seeds on it. She was so kind to put one in a bag and give it to me. It was such a kind gesture. She was so generous. I thanked her for everything and wished her a great day. I walked out and put everything in my car before I drove off. I ate the honey-glazed baked good in the car. It was so fresh. It had a touch of sweetness. It was chewy and still warm. I loved the sesame seeds on top. I ate it plain, but I'm sure that it would be yummy with a spread of your choice. I had one of the mango cakes for dessert last night. The cake was moist and yummy. The mango puree on top wasn't overly sugary. It tasted like ripe, fresh mangoes. This morning, I had a simit for breakfast with a couple of fried eggs. There is something enjoyable breaking up a simit and dipping it into runny egg yolks. Delicious! Each simit is generously covered in sesame seeds. It's chewy and so perfect. I love bagels, but simits are special. I remember having one every day while in Istanbul, thanks to the lounge area that offered them any time of day. I'm so glad that I can get my fix here and be transported back to Turkey. Bravo makes authentic simits and I am thrilled to have seven more to enjoy before I head back there for more. It was such an unexpected, cool find. I will go back and get a carbonated imported drink from Turkey, along with some baklava next time. This place also has Turkish delight. It was another weakness that I had developed while in Istanbul. Bravo is so deadly, but so good for Turkish pastries and desserts. (126)

I've never been disappointed with this deli, the food is always delicious and tasty, the cuts of meat are fantastic, thick and juicy, and the fries are golden and crisp. It's a good deal for a good portion of food. The service is always friendly, with servers who are attentive, chatty and friendly. My only comment would be that because this Deli has been around for so long (as have I), I remember when I was little and the paint was fresh. But now it's been worn down and it's noticeable from the doorways to the chairs and tables. This staple of Thornhill is still delivering great food, but the restaurant itself needs some love and upkeep. A fresh coat of paint will go a long way. Even the washrooms (while very clean) have a smell to them. I believe it's time to give Centre Street Deli some love and freshen it up a bit for the younger generation.
