If you're a boba lover, this place will absolutely hit the spot. The inside is colorful and chill with plenty of space to sit and unwind. A group of friends and I came here after a special event. I tried to order several items that sounded good from the menu, one by one they were shot down. Nope, "Sorry we are all out," was the repeated response I got. I wanted to try the onion rings, the shrimp cream cheese won tons, and shrimp rolls. I'm pretty sure they were out of egg rolls too. Finally, I was able to order a wrap that sounded good, and I also settled for the shrimp balls (they were not very good in my opinion). I gave the rest to my friend. When it came to my drink, I thought it was odd that they gave me a cup without a lid. I couldn't take it to go. All of my friends had lids. I ordered a water, and received no lid. What the heck? The wrap I ordered was the club crepe and it was pretty good. I would order it again if I happened to go back. I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to go back here. If they were not out of so many items next time I would give them a second chance. Moreover, the crepe was the star of the day that held the show together. The customer service was decent. Milk teas and boba were good, the popcorn chicken tasted good but would've been better if it was crunchier, and the fries tasted old and reheated. I had this random craving for Milk Tea with boba and popcorn chicken, and so being that we were driving through Modesto- I searched Yelp for the most rated and highest star reviewed spot... T-Cups Cafe is located in the heart of Downtown Modesto, adjacent to the Brennen Theaters, neighboring Jamba Juice. Upon walking in, I had to question if they were open or not because the interior looked dark, there wasn't a sign stating "open" plus it didn't look like anyone was inside. I walk in and immediately you're welcomed with a sweet sugary smell, it made me smile, lol. The only lady working the behind the counter greeted me and then continued to work. T-Cup is spacious with a chill spot area that consists of couches and tables throughout. There was a slight eerie vibe tho, cuz it was too quiet between the sounds of frying and blending every now and then. The nice lady took my order which consisted of Black Milk Tea w/ Boba ($2.95) and T-pop Chicken ($5.45). I waiting about 10 minutes then received my order. I had asked for no ice, but she still put ice in it. Oh well, this wasn't a deal breaker for me, but my milk tea had a weird after taste. I still prefer Tapioca Express's Milk Tea. For the T-Pop chicken, these were MEH-ok. They didn't have much of a flavor to them, and since they are basically fried pieces of chicken- you control how spicy since the spicy cayenne power is found to the side with the other condiments. I wished that the chicken was cooked/ fried with basil and the cayenne pepper already. This would add so much more flavor, again I prefer TapEx's chicken. read more

Easy to find and great that they're opened until midnight! The menu was extremely extensive from fried snacks to drinks or just about anything you can think of! I skipped the drinks and ordered the coconut waffle (2.95) and the fried fish balls. Fishballs came first and they were exactly what I imagined. A little bit of salt and pepper and nicely fried. The waffle came next, it was fluffy and thick- I expected a lot less, but it was impressive in size and price! Great little piece of home away from home. Great place to hang out for snacks and desserts if you're craving boba or even for a easy quick dinner. They have combo meals and crepes! Just all their prices are more than beyond reasonable and it's made to order. So it's above your typical Quicklys. Nothing better than support your local business. All I got was one large boba, restaurant was dirty, took my order immediately but then forgot about my order, there was only two other customers waiting btw. I had a mighty craving for some melon tea with pudding and I managed to find this place. The owner(?) at the front was very friendly and funny as she took my order and made my drink. I got the biggest size of honeydew milk tea with both milk pudding and their egg pudding. I come here quite often usually once a month or so. I often order a milk tea with the shrimp rolls. The shrimp rolls are always tasty and crispy. I try to stick to a milk tea as sometimes the green tea I think I need it to be a little sweeter. The owners always are very kind and I usually don't have to wait very long for my food and drinks to be ready. read more

I like their pearl tea so far. The avocado smoothie was good, but I prefer the strawberry. You can adjust the sweetness of your smoothie to your liking. It makes me happy that after they seal the cup with plastic on top, they take the time to thoroughly shake your cup so that the pearls/boba are more evenly distributed throughout the smoothie. The fried chicken was alright. The cold cuts sandwich was also okay. The meats they put in their version of the sandwich are not my favorite. I'm excited to try their fried desserts. I'll have to wait until next time. It's super close to Brenden Theaters downtown so I'll consider stopping here before a movie. The employees here are friendly. It's good to find another good boba shop outside of the Bay Area. Looking around Central Valley cities, I couldn't find many bubble tea shops that were that good but now I've found T-cups! We ordered taro milk tea, strawberry tea with baby pearls, passion fruit tea with rainbow jelly, and the full house crepe (strawberry, kiwi, banana, choice of ice cream, drizzled with syrup). I thoroughly enjoyed the drinks but for the crepe, I could've done without. The fruits were fresh tasting but the kiwi was very tart and there was so much syrup. It made for a messy dessert. I am Bay Area girl born and raised so Pearl tea from the city to the South Bay is a "go to" almost every day and I am THRILLED that I finally checked this place out in down town Modesto! You can go to tons of boba spots in the Bay and keep it real they are fast in getting your order, can be awesome or just okay, but damn they can be kinda rude when you a newbie trying to figure out what you want or if you have a bunch of orders or God forbid wanna try and change an order (talking to you tapioca in downtown MV) I did not in any way feel rushed and all the employees kept flashing smiles, so it was welcoming and I love that! Enough seating areas with two TVs, free wifi and even a spot for games that they have for you to hang out enjoy your food and drinks :-) We ordered Three boba drinks. tai tea, strawberry milk Pearl tea, and my favorite of Tara milk Pearl tea with rainbow jelly and baby pearls. All Three did not have that thick powdery taste (thank god!) With 2 of the drinks we made it a meal and of course had to try their Chicken with French fries and Calamari with their Egg rolls. It's usually the go to late night snack or salty and spicy snacks we always get when we try a Pearl tea place out. I will say that yes it is a little pricey, but with the amount they give you for the food I can understand why. Also it's freshly prepared and has just the right amount of seasoning we enjoy. We paid a little under $25.00 for two meals that included the drinks and one drink separately. So figure 3 meals with drinks about between $25-$35. Meals run at $8.45 with add on extras at $1-$2 I wanted to try their Vietnamese sandwiches but for sure next time! Also once the weather is warmer I bet a lot of people will be going their for those crepes that look BOMB. Can't wait to come back with the whole fam and enjoy the rest of the menu! I came here for a snack after catching a movie next door. I ended up getting the sweet potato fries and popcorn chicken which was decent. The boba however was just mediocre at best. I guess if I really wanted boba in Modesto and I was absolutely desperate I would come here for boba but I just didn't really care for the consistency of it. I wish they had a larger selection of drinks and snow bubbles but their milk teas were okay. The service here was very good, the cashier behind the counter was helpful and enthusiastic. The store itself seemed new and clean, the place was crowded when I went in which was a good sign. Modesto finally has a true Bubble Tea and Boba Cafe As someone who frequents the bay area every weekend and consumes about 1-2 of these drinks every time, this place is downright amazing. As I write this I'm still sipping on my Large Lychee Icy w Lychee Jelly and it is just the perfect amount of sweetness, (unlike the one from Tapioca Express in UC which can be overpowering sweet.) I've tried various shakes from the Viet places in town - they're okay. I've tried One Cup Cafe - would never go back, the drinks are gross. The icing on the cake was how nice and friendly everyone was behind the counter. They greeted us courteously and the lady at the register even chatted with us for a few minutes as we exclaimed our excitement.
