The man checking me out (a Hispanic guy who they said was the manager) didn't bag a single thing. He handed me each item to throw back into the cart--which you can't even take outside. When I asked if he could bag them, he said no, claiming he didn't have bags... even though they were right there and I had just seen him use them for other people. I bought over 10 items and had to bag everything myself while he just stood there watching. It was honestly humiliating doing that in front of everyone. Another employee came to help, but when I asked to speak to the manager, they said it was him--and he just ignored me completely, talking to someone behind the counter like I wasn't even there. I've worked in customer service before, and this was just not okay. When I asked for names to report what happened, they said they couldn't give them out "due to policy." I left feeling disrespected and embarrassed. Not the kind of experience anyone should have.

I found it interesting my usual UPS Store didn't come up. Rather, Kohls at Redd Rock Shopping Center was my only "free return" option. I was going to be at that side of town so I decided to click "Return at Kohls." I checked their hours and I was positively impressed to see that on Sundays they are open all the way til 11pm, it was then when I knew I had made the right choice. When arrived their parking lot was roomy. Inside Kohls was nicely decorated for the Holidays, not crazy full and clean. I headed to their front registers and they were busy, I took a moment to make eye contact with an employee and asked where costumer service was at. The employee naturally saw me with my amazon package and explained where in the store is their amazon returns kiosk. The amazon returns Kiosk is all the way in the back of the store, while walking there I was able to eye ball cute items at great discounts, when arrived at the kiosk no one was there and it is not a self serve kiosk so I had to walk all the way to the front of the store to tell an employee that I needed help, then to walk all the way to the back of the store to wait on someone when someone else was now in line. Bummer... Kohls was genius to create this kiosk and allure you in their store. Once I completed my return I was give a coupon for 25% any item in their store for the next 10 days. It all makes sense now. I cannot deny I loved what I saw in Kohls, and with their store hours I will very likely come back. Yup, yup, yup, yup!!!

That said, I'm writing in hopes that corporate will see this, as their worker hygiene is absolutely horrible. My cashier repeatedly HACK-coughed into his right hand while checking our groceries, then proceeding to touch all of our lemons, avocados, cilantro bunches, etc. individually. I was absolutely horrified - during flu season, in a post-Covid world, no less. Thought about confronting him, or just leaving my groceries at the register and walking out, but the damage was quite literally already done, as within about 36 hours I developed congestion and a cough. Aside from it being gross, inconsiderate and unprofessional, I've got two little ones (a toddler and newborn, both of whom were right in front of him). He didn't seem like a bad person, just completely unaware, but that really isn't acceptable in this day and age. Good to know that shopping here may well be a super spreader event for whatever nasty virus is floating around, and God knows how many other shoppers he is infecting, but management really needs to do a Hygiene 101 for their workers.

I just can't hate Wal-Mart for the mere fact that their buying power is so large they can offer the lowest prices in the nation and price match absolutely anything, but I do hate Wal-Mart (or at least EP Wal-Marts) for their sickly looking produce section, cheap and uninspired deli meats, and generally going-through-the-motions employees. But the prices, man! Okay, so they're not that different from Albertsons, but a penny saved is definitely a penny earned. Sodas are almost always on sale, Caprisuns and the like are usually comparable to Albertsons sales price, canned goods are under a dollar (but can we get those Chunky Campbell's soups under $2?), cereals are at a decent enough price that I almost always upgrade to Family Size, chips have their days (but for the most part Wal-Mart doesn't appear to have any hold on Frito Lays), and breads are regular bread prices. Again, not impressed by the produce or deli selection although both are rather inexpensive. The fruits and veggies are always past their peak (especially the tomatoes) and the deli has too small of a selection for you to find anything more than Hormel turkey. But the prices, man! This packed Wal-Mart stays clean which is no easy feat, I'm sure. The isles may have gotten smaller over the years like Mark E. said. But I do like the fact that useless junk isn't crammed down your throat here while trying to go grocery shopping because they don't sell TVs and clothes and towels and trashcans and kitchen utensils and ponies and hay and tractors and astronaut suits and law books and small one room schoolhouses here.

I am complimented on my clothing/jewelry more times than I can count when dressing in Dos Femmes', especially when traveling. I've also never had a problem looking the same as other event-goers. The owners go above and beyond to answer all my questions and meet my several needs. They truly make me feel special. I've even purchased several items through Direct Message, making purchases even faster. The staff treat the business as their own too, so it's easy to say that customer service is absolutely the best I've ever received compared with any other clothing/jewelry stores. This store is close to where I live but when I can't pickup, I LOVE getting orders shipped because they come with the cutest wrapping, including a sweet, hand-written note.
