I went to the store because I needed some winter clothing and I really hate to shop. So I went in and grabbed a few things, probably seven or eight items and paid for them and took them home. All but the three of them fit and were something that I liked so I brought the rest back. I had to wait in the cashier line to return things but it was quick and easy and all in all it was a very good shopping experience. I did notice that it was October and they had Christmas stuff next to Halloween stuff but I guess that's to be expected.

I have been a loyal TJ Maxx shopper my entire life but I will not be coming back to this location. I bought a $65 suitcase for a short flight. I check it, and it came out smashed on the first flight. No one else had smashed luggage- this was just a piece of crap. I explain this to the store manager when I very politely went to return it, assuming they would be apologetic. The store manager refused to take it back (and I did have a receipt from two weeks prior) and pointed out that the airline people must have "dragged" it because of a wear mark. I explained I was the one who dragged it (around JFK airport) because the damn wheel cracked off. She wouldn't listen. I would expect that TJ Maxx would encourage their store managers to take responsibility for obviously defective merchandise. What kind of luggage cracks on one short flight? What kind of store doesn't take responsibility for the products they choose to sell?

looks like my 4yr old played with this and put it back ...

soo i recently started to go to tj max in search of high end make up and hair products for half the price. First time i came it was during a weekday early afternoon and it wasnt that busy at all so i was able to search through the ( thrown together ; messy ) make up section without interruptions. The I stopped in on a Saturday and it was packed!! narrow isles its hard to look through without bumping into someone ( def was an issue while i walked with my carriage) However after i did a deep dive into the make up and skincare section i was fortunate to find two high end foundations ( luckily just a tad shade off my usual color, its always a hit or miss) anyway only issue i ended up having was that both times i went the cashier ended up calling over the manager ( both two different women) but they were both almost equally miserable. First time my question was if i purchased a foundation but it wasnt my color can i return it? which ended with a short rude no, so the box was taped and i asked if i could see the color before purchasing it and was told once itry it on i have to buy it. second time was on the weekend.. the cashier was having an issue working the apple pay. when the manager comes over her only thing to me was "well it worked before " ..kind of implying that i my account must not have money in it,,, she could of at least offered to ring me up on another computer but luckily i had cash on me so i didnt have to walk out with my tail between my legs. ( side note i went to petco right after and my apple pay worked just fine!!) anyway when i got home i was excited to try out the make up i purchased and when i opened the box I found a mess, and noticed that half the bottle was empty.. so much for not being able to open the box to test try.. seems like everyone was doing it anyway

I had the opportunity to visit on Sunday, September 14th. Garden City Center's historic gazebo green transforms into a vibrant, open-air Farmers Market. The Farmers Market is every Sunday from May 18 through September 28 from 10 AM to 2 PM. I wandered and checked out the local vendors. There were a great variety of them. I purchased a really cute coaster from The Book Emporium RI. The Book Emporium RI sells books that are wrapped and you have a blind date with a book. I also purchased a lavender sachet from 15 Lavender Place. I spoke with the owner and she told me all of the lavender is lovingly home-grown and hand-harvested, ensuring the highest quality and care go into every product. There were soothing lavender eye pillows, relaxing neck wraps, sprays, and bundles of dried lavender. I also went to Fully Rooted to purchase two bottles of freshly pressed juices-Watermelon Slice and Golden Greens. There were also local food trucks, farm booths, and local makers. The Garden City Center Farmers Market is a market for everyone. Either if you just want to stop for coffee, get produce for the week, flowers, dog treats, see alpacas, and so much more.

I've been inside the store quite a few times and while it's generally clean it can be a chaotic mess. I was looking for something specific and I couldn't find it to save my life. I went over to the area where I could request an employee, which they did come but they were pretty useless they told me they had a quantity of 2 of the items I needed but she couldn't help me find the second one (it was a toy) because the whole toy section I was in was a horrendous mess, instead of helping me look for it she took one look for maybe all of 1 minute shrugged and said I'm sorry I couldn't find it, and went on about her day. I found this very disheartening because her job is customer service and I feel like a minute of "looking" wasn't looking at all. I indeed did not find the item and just got it somewhere else. There's nothing special going on here. I wasted my time actually. But I'm also not a target person really, so no stress.

Located in an unoccupied storefront there is plenty of space and it was almost full of vendors. The market was well attended during our visit around 11:30 with lines cueing up at some of the vendor tables. I did not see any produce vendors, and I suppose there is not much fresh veg growing in RI in February. Many of the vendors have socials accounts, websites and business cards. Definitely stop by and see if there is anything of interest. We found several vendors that would make good resources for gift giving in the future. An item will say, for instance, $2.99 on the shelf sticker and will ring up for $3.49. This wasn't on one occasion or on one item, it happened to me on four visits on multiple items. I had to start taking pics of the shelf stickers with my iPhone to show the cashier's the discrepancies. When I noticed it in the beginning after looking at my receipt, they would correct it my giving me my money and and then some--Like a dollar or two for the inconvenience. But the final straw for me is they emailed a rewards coupon for $10.00 off an order. I've gotten these coupons before and used them no problem. At my final visit to the Seekonk location, saw only $4.25 was discounted instead of $10.00. So, the cashier called for assistance and I thought this woman who came up front was a manager. She looked at my coupon, looked at the receipt and said, "Well, will you look at that? Oh well, if you want the $10 discount, you need to call corporate." I was like "Call corporate? Why? For some reason it didn't take off the right amount. Can't you just give me the difference?" "Nope" she said, "We don't give you coupons here, so you need to call corporate to see if they'll give you the money." So I suggested, "Well, can't we reverse the order and re-ring it to try and see if the coupon will take the correct amount off?" She said "Nope. The coupon was already scanned and used--when it's gone IT'S GONE!" I was like "Why are you refusing to help me? You see I have a coupon for ten dollars and can see on my receipt it only took off $4.25?" She starts yelling "BECAUSE WE DON'T GIVE YOU COUPONS HERE, ITS FROM CORPORATE!" I'm like "Am I not standing here at a location of Big Lots, which is part of the corporation? An error of some sort occurred. It's not my fault" Then she starts yelling "THE CASHIER DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!" I replied, "I didn't say she did. It's not her fault the coupon didn't deduct the correct amount. But this needs to be corrected HERE! It happened at this location and it should be rectified HERE!" (note: two items rang up at higher prices than listed on the shelf stickers and when ringing me out, she corrected it no problem). She said "We're not doing it". I said, because I assumed she was one "This is absolutely abysmal customer service and you have poor management skills". She said "I'm not a manager". I said "Well I can see why!" Then, at the top of the lungs, screamed GET OUT!!! Like she was Ralph on the Honeymooners. I left saying "You want me to call corporate? I will and it WON'T be just about this coupon". So, I contact corporate and guess what? The coupon they sent me was encoded incorrectly deducting only 20% off the order instead of $10. I gave them this wicked woman's name (I won't disclose it here, but she has long grey hair like Brunhilda) and told them about the wretched experience I had with this woman. All they did was give me what I was supposed to get in the first place--an email with just another $10 coupon. I got nothing more for the inconvenience or abusive treatment. I got no contact from a real manager at that store apologizing, I got no notice if the situation was addressed at the store. So, I took my coupon to the Swansea location, purchased enough up to $10, paid the remainder of 34 cents on the bill and left. I went home, threw my Big Lots card away and removed myself from their emails. Ollie's is now the store I shop for for great discounts. This Big Lots in Seekonk gets a zero stars rating from me--along with their corporate office!
