One of my favorite stores at Garden City Center, and a must visit every time we are here. I love the bohemian-chic vibes of the clothing and home accessories, and can never leave without buying (ahem) several items. During this visit in particular, I was looking for a fun outfit for my company holiday party, and went into the fitting room with many options in tow. The dressing room attendants were friendly and offered great feedback, even running back into the store to get different colors and sizes, and also pieces they thought would compliment the look I was going for. I ended up leaving not only with a great outfit for the event, but also with a few other pieces to wear to work. Even though Anthropologie is known as a clothing retailer what attracted us to come into the store was the nice Home Decor window they had....it was really inviting to see the beautiful home accessories they had. They had a variety of things like candles, pillows, table accent decor, etc. Anthropologie has approximately 200 stores across the U.S., Canada, and the UK that offers an assortment of clothing, jewelry, home furniture, decoration, beauty products, and gifts. Was in there today 10/22/23 I was in the dressing room, trying on jeans. I happened to drop two things that were valuable to me out of my pocket. The girl in the dressing room came running out. Said "Yvette. You dropped. These are the rooms" I said, "Oh my gosh, thank you so much for giving that back These days, as we all know, sadly, most people would have taken it. I went up to the front desk to ask for the manager to tell her how nice it was of that girl to give that back to me. I was a little perplexed with what the manager said to me. Well, that's our policy.. I only really wanted the girl to be recognized by management. I really don't care what your policy is. The girl still did not have to give that back. The moral of the story is that the manager was very flippant about it. I'm just hoping the girl in the dressing room got recognized for being so honest The manager, on the other hand, in that store could use a little customer service skills The people that work beneath her surpass her I left scratching my head, wondering why she is the manager. The perfect aesthetic and customer focused experience! I've been an anthro lover for 10+years. Each store has its own vibe, but the Cranston location and team is top notch. Super friendly and helpful! Gorgeous displays, and well organized. Higher price points for goods but it's quality stuff that will last so IMHO it's worth it. Loving it. Where else can you go and pick out a perfectly quirky and whimsical cocktail dress, a demure cardi and kitchy measuring cups all at once? Nowhere. And that's why I love Anthropologie. Yes, it's pricey - but if you know that going in you can prepare yourself. Honestly, I tend to avoid the t-shirts and sweaters because I can find them elsewhere for less. What I go for are the dresses (you can find a large assortment for under $200) and designer jeans (AG, anyone? Citizens? Yes.). And as I mentioned, the home section is to die. They have the most adorable wares and books and blankets... if I could take all of it home, I would. Now, this store in particular has an amazing staff. One girl spent about and hour... yes, and HOUR... with me selecting the perfect cocktail dress for an upcoming event. She gave me her honest opinion, which I truly treasure. When the one we decided on was unavailable in my size, she ordered it for me and it's being shipped directly to my home - free of charge! Imagine. I may have picked up a few other things while I was there, too... They have a great sale room, too - it's a little space off the back of the store to keep the mess in order. The store itself is absolutely gorgeous - laid out well, spacious and airy. It smells good, too - all those fancy candles! I love, love Anthropologie. Amazingly beautiful, feminine cocktail dresses, rustic chic comfy sweaters, floaty cardigans and crisp plaid shirts sprinkled between GORGEOUS leather bags, sparkly jewelry and kitschy home decor. .....What's not to friggin' love? Shopping here is kinda' like a field trip to a foreign country. Yup. Specifically the tiny foreign country in my mind where everything is an ethereal, sea foam green and glittered with salmon pink tulle. I have to wander about touching every nook and cranny, inspecting every piece of jewelry and trying every beauty tester. If I had a lack of restraint I could literally spend a month's salary here. Granted they may be a bit pricier than other stores but honestly, in the scheme of mid-level boutiques, it's really not that expensive. I found some awesome deals littered throughout including a mind blowingly perfect, oversized leather bag for under $200 and a BEAUTIFUL jeweled barrette set for $18. HAHAHHA! You want HOW much for a plain cotton tissue cardigan?! $88 you say? This place is good for; The aesthetic experience, it's clean and really pretty. Everything is laid out very nicely. The staff; They will greet you and ask if you need help in a pleasant way. Tchotchkies/gifts/accessories, if you're willing to splurge. And just Browsing. Not so good for; Outfitting yourself. Even in the sale closet you won't come away with a cotton t-shirt for less than $30. I went down the way to Cohoes and fulfilled my shopping urge by scoring a Free People (one of Anthro's prevalent brands) dress for $30. Original price-$128. Not on my watch. read more

Yes, it's overpriced, but you kind of expect that going in. I love that Anthro finally opened a store in Little Rhody so I don't have to make the trek to Boston to try on something I ogled on their website. This is a great location, spacious, uncluttered, and well-stocked. It can get hectic on the weekends and I've definitely spent more that a couple minutes waiting in line to get a fitting room, but it's worth it to me. I love coming just to check out their kitchen wares and scope out their always fabulously-styled window displays. Plus, they carry Capri Blue candles (my fav) and the whole store just smells good. If I close my eyes, it almost feels as if I'm shopping in Georgetown. And that, my friends, makes it worth the trip. They do have a decent sale selection, but you have to dig a little bit (which makes a good score that much better). It's a great place for picking up little trinkets for your girlfriend's birthday or to give as a hostess gift. They've also recently started a customer rewards type program, although it sounds like it's more about tracking recent purchases than offering actual discounts. I have been a die-hard Anthro fan for over a decade at this point and it used to be that I'd only be able to step into a real live store if I ventured out of my RI bubble and visited Boston or New York. Not any more!! And it's in Garden City, which is such a calm, classy shopping experience in contrast with the malls and their food court/movie theater/herds of young girls going to Forever 21 crowds. ::deep breath:: EXPENSIVE but let me just say that when I make a mental inventory of the most gorgeous, unique, and well-made items in my wardrobe, they are all from here. The best part is their DRESS SELECTION. Sososo gorgeous. The kind of dresses you will feel cute/beautiful/sexy in, always receive compliments on, and wear for years and years. Worth it! This store is spacious, arranged nicely into distinct sections, and very easy to scope out and find what you're looking for. There's a sale room tucked into the back, so don't miss that! It's never been too crowded whenever I've gone and there's usually parking right out front. Be sure to hit up the housewares section...yeah, you might not want to spend $35 on the hedgehog measuring cups, but they have a good mix of items under $10 like mugs or glasses that make unique, cute gifts. I also love their collection of loose door knobs and cabinet/drawer handles. I fantasize about finding a vintage bureau on the side of the road that I refinish and then adorn with mismatched hardware from those fabulous bins. If I didn't live with a man who has a modern minimalist style, I would fill my home with all the dishes, glasses, tea pots, utensils, tablecloths, curtains, pillows, throws, rugs, and ottomans from this company that I could possibly fit! Tip: Go towards the right side of the store (and take a left turn once you hit the back of the store) to check out their sale room. Cute dresses, gifts, kitchenware for very low cost at times. Have to keep coming back to search for the good deals. The customer service at the GC location is great. They are very attentive, kind, helpful, and give good feedback on clothing/accessories. The store in general is an experience. It is always decorated so beautiful. You could spend a good amount of time just looking at all the details in the store, from ceiling to floor. Disclaimer- I'm basing my review more on the quality of the items at Anthro than the store itself. I've purchased items at Anthro on several occasions. I've returned with a fancy sweatshirt with beading falling off after one wear and a necklace that has fallen apart before wearing. For the the inflated prices of the items, I would expect better quality. Sure the store looks and smells lovely and inviting with it's kitschy decor but after repeated issues with their items, I'm turned off to Anthro. read more

I am a huge Anthropologie freak so whenever I encounter one I get pretty happy. Anthro is not a chain that is everywhere you go so I greet each location like a long lost friend. This location is very spacious and as several other Yelpers have advised if you are put off by the full retail (which I admit the mark up can be high and some of the stuff you could do yourself-like sew buttons on a tank top!) head immediately for the sale section. When I visited with my Mom the last month the sale section was pretty picked over so unfortunately I did not find any gems. I'm so thrilled that this shop came to RI several years back. It's one of my very favorite stores. Although the bohemian clothing is most likely designed for the younger (and slimmer!) woman, I'm still able to find enough cool pieces there that I always ask for Anthro gift certificates from folks who ask what I want for my birthday. I'm no Skinny Minnie but find many many tops and a few bottoms there. I've always loved Anthro and you can find me in the Garden City (RI) store a few times a month. Frequently they will not stock my size so I have to order online, but the nice salespeople will place the order from the store, thus bypassing the cost of postage. If it doesn't fit, the article can be returned to the local store. All Anthro stores are just a bit different, and some carry more stock than others. They all carry a few home goods, jewelry, nightgowns and pj's, bedding, etc., but some have more than others. When I lived in DC the selections were much wider, in RI not so much. Nonetheless, I adore the Boho vibe of everything in the store from coats to planters to dish towels to blouses. I highly recommend Anthropologie if you don't want to see your outfit being worn by others everywhere you go! 5 stars to Anthro! read more
