They gave me a nice drive and it was not terrible to get there or home from the shore to the New Braunfels area. The store itself is in the end of a strip mall. Inside the store. It is fairly spacious and what I would describe as well organized. I browsed around some of the items just to see what they had and it seemed like everything was in really good condition. The item we got my wife called ahead for and asked if they can hold it for a day and they were willing to do that. Which was very nice because when you have a newborn it reminds me of the Steinbeck quote. The plans of mice and Men often go awry and we just couldn't make it there the day she saw the items she wanted. The woman behind the counter was super friendly and a pleasure to interact with. All in all we really like the store for a number of reasons. Outside of getting a great deal, another big concern of ours is the textile waste and product plastic waste from getting new toys, clothing and baby items. They often outgrow them quickly and while the items may be small when you're constantly buying new contribute to landfills. Shopping at consignment shops like this are a great way to help combat that by making sure gently used goods don't end up in the garbage. We really appreciate the store and will likely be shopping here for years to come

If you are mad because they wouldn't take your stuff, one of two things is likely true. One, your stuff is not as good as you think it is. Two, you did not read ahead to find out what items they are currently taking. Remember, you are giving them things you do not want. Don't be so arrogant to assume that anyone else will, let alone someone who would like to sell them. The truth is that this is a great store, particularly for sports related items and winter gear.

So I was ready to be disappointed when I walked into the retail store that took its place. But, that store is called Moxie, it kicks ass, and the people who own it and work there are wonderful. They have tons of great housewares. I walked in with a designer friend and she was impressed. Cool plates, tea kettles, cookware - all sorts of stuff. And then I went back before this last Christmas... I found all sorts of gifts for the modern baby. Great clothes from Wry Baby, like t-shirt that had sayings like "I Eat Dirt" and "Not a Girl". And the best sellers in Asbury Park, "I Love My Moms" and "I Love My Dads". (That's right, San Francisco, you don't have a monopoly on progressiveness - in fact you could learn a thing or two from Asbury Park). And there are great toys from Zolo, like the Kooshies Stacrobats. And the Huggy Buggy line of soft toys. Parents of the recipients of these toys are likely to thank you for getting toys that are cool and attractive to children without making obnoxious noises or flashing lights. This place is a great addition to the fantastic shopping on Cookman Ave. And they have an online store so you can order from anywhere.
