I love this TJ Maxx store! No matter how swamped they are, and naturally they do get lines all the time, the cashiers are always super friendly and helpful. One patient cashier suggested that I tried to pull up my credit card because I would get a bigger savings. And she dealt with hassles on my end lol. It's relatively clean and unlike Marshalls in Campbell, the clothes aren't all jammed on the racks, so it makes browsing easier and more pleasant. The dressing room procedure is annoying and cumbersome, because I always feel like I'm sus. It's not their fault I guess, It's a delicate balance of being in a high theft area, while ensuring that every consumer isn't assumed as a thief. I love their HomeGoods plenty of storage bins always finding unique items. I've saved - spent so much money and time here but it's a fun time suck. read more

Stopped by TJ Maxx to look for some holiday placemats. I was surprised that they still had quite a selection. I found three different ones that were very nice quality and the prices were good too. There were a lot of people shopping in there today. It was a bit crowded but I was able to get where I needed to. The shelves were stocked up really nice for Christmas and they had so many great gift ideas. I found some really nice decorative Christmas boxes for putting gifts in. They had so many different kinds. It was hard to pick. The check out line moved very fast and the customer service was excellent. I enjoyed my shopping trip today. I look forward to coming back again in the future. read more

This TJ Maxx HomeGoods location is consistently impressive. Despite how busy it gets, the store is always well-stocked and organized--which says a lot considering the high traffic. I love that the layout separates the HomeGoods section from the clothing and accessories, making it easy to focus on what you came for (and, let's be honest, discover a few things you didn't plan on buying). There's also an upstairs area I haven't explored yet, but even just the main floor is packed with great finds. I rarely walk out empty-handed--more often, I leave with exactly what I was looking for and something unexpected. Between the variety, organization, and overall shopping experience, this has easily become one of my favorite TJ Maxx HomeGoods locations in the Bay Area. I was years old when I found out this TJMaxx has 2 aisles dedicated to Korean beauty! I bought 10 sheet masks for $10 and 3 products (elizavecca and skinfood) for a total of $35! The prices were more affordable than at Korean beauty stores. Will be coming here for all skincare and beauty. And the expiration dates are long, not short. read more

I went to the TJMaxx on Hillsdale today 11/16/24. I witnessed an older female store worker by the name of Janin, and I saw her speaking to a younger store worker in a very condescending tone. I was not able to hear the entire conversation, but I saw that the older employee cornered the younger girl and seemed very demeaning, and the younger worker was clearly upset. She did this in front of several other customers, which all seemed to be very uncomfortable with the situation. i'm not sure if the older female employee was a manager, but if she is, she should be more respectful, courteous, and kind to her fellow colleagues. very unprofessional. read more

My mother and I came here to both return and shop today. We were helped at the front by a young gentleman, I think the name tag said something like Marco or Mario. He was extremely helpful in managing our returns and purchases. He was polite, patient, and friendly and definitely amplified our shopping experience. read more

This location is a TJ Maxx and Home Goods combo spot. Depending on what you need, this place could have it (clothes, cooking utensils, furniture, etc.)! I have driven past this location multiple times and just stopped by today to check it out because I have been looking for Christmas decor at other locations and wanted to see what this one had offered. The store is divided by clothing (right/straight towards the back) and furniture/decor (left). I had higher expectations for this location because of how larger it was, but it felt pretty picked through and messy. It was hard to know where things were at exactly since people place objects that don't belong in aisles, which makes it misleading. I didn't see anything for Christmas that 'stood out' exactly, but I got a couple of nutcracker dolls that were unique to this location. When it comes to large decorations, this location doesn't have a huge selection. You'll see table top and hosting decorations that are on brand for the holidays, but nothing that truly makes a statement. At other locations you can find outdoor decorations, tall statues, Christmas trees, but since this is a combo store that could take away from its ability to carry that kind of stock. It reminds me a lot of Marshall's with its miscellaneous home selection, clothing, luggage, and shoes, but it didn't scream 'Home Goods' before, during, and after I had left. I think if you're not particularly expecting anything, this location does have a lot to offer. I knew there was a Home Goods nearby, but the selection is overrun by the TJ Maxx side. It could be a good fit for someone else, but it just didn't fit what I had needed for the day. There are also a lot of cashiers open and operating at this location which helped a lot, but there is a long line problem here compared to other locations. I think they had 3 or 4 registers but the line wouldn't end and it would snake towards the luggage section. I'd say I was probably in line for 10-15 min maximum. This might be too long if you're short on time (I absolutely was) so be prepared for that. Something else I had noticed was they were selling some products at retail value and not at their usual discounted price. I really liked a headband I had seen, but it was $15 retail, and they tried selling it for the same price. Even though, it shouldn't have been. Is this a trend with Tj Maxx I haven't seen before? Overall, this location had a couple of cute things I ended up taking with me, but with its busy parking lot and line, I probably won't return. Some further organizing would really make it feel less overwhelming, along with safer to navigate through with a cart. If you prepare yourself with my advice and still find the time to head over, then you may be better prepared than I was. Or, trying a different location overall. read more

Horrible customer service. As soon as my boyfriend and I walked in, we were followed throughout the whole store by MULTIPLE employees. One paced our aisle back and fourth to peek at us and once we made eye contact, she put her head down and stopped. Every section we went workers would stay as long as we stayed and then left to the next section we would. I've never had this bad of an experience at a store ever, nor had to ever make a review. I went on 12.10 around 11:45 am to buy some gift wrapping paper. Horrible experience, couldn't even make it discreet that they were following us and communicating on their walkies. read more

I did a lot of my Christmas shopping here this past holiday, because I am impulsive and love to throw things in my cart. There is a wide variety of things here that I want for myself, so it's easy to shop for others. Sometimes I have a hard time not shopping for myself, but I've been good too. I was in need of a few new work shirts for the upcoming warmer weather, so I slipped in a impromptu shopping session and came out with two shirts, loofahs and sunscreen. Also, there's always something that catches my eye in housewares. Finally, they have had amazing jewelry there and I have a lot of that also. Horrible customer service. I bought a suitcase from this store only to have one of the wheels fall off that same evening! Of course I took it back the next day only for them to tell me that they couldn't take it back since it's been "used". I then stated I just wanted another suitcase or at least store credit since I had JUST bought it. The "manager" refus I personally will never shop here again. I love coming to TJ Maxx as I always get the best deals in addition to spending a lot of time in the HomeGoods Department because it is always well-organized. However, I was shopping recently and I was by the front when I heard something really disturbing that is thus resulting in me not coming to this specific TJ Maxx anymore. At the front of the store, I heard what I presume to be a boss, I think her name starts with a D name, maybe Daniella? Anyways, I heard her say "Why would you come to America if you can't speak English" to a fellow worker. This is blatantly disrespectful and the fact that she could say it in the front of the store makes me wonder what other racist things she has said. I really urge the TJ Maxx HR to take control of the situation and rid the establishment of these racist people. read more

My husband and I went to this TJ Maxx location on 1825 Hillsdale Ave to return a men's brass bracelet that was creating a tarnished ring color around my husband's wrist. We bought it here and the lady that was in the jewelry area gave me good service when I bought this on May 29 . It was an additional Father's Day gift for my husband coming from grandson. Well all that nice experienced suddenly changed when I arrived at the store yesterday July 4th at around 3:47 pm. I proceeded to the jewelry section and the lady that is in charge of that jewelry area was trying to explain something to another sale person named Arlene . I approached the glass case and they continued their somewhat argumentative conversation wherein this particular Arlene was talking down to this other sales person regarding an item , a tag --not sure. I was just patiently waiting there to see if I will be acknowledged as a customer. Finally after this Arlene finished her loud conversation with the other sales person -I was finally approached. I brought the receipt, the box the bracelet came in but because it was to be given as a gift and not meant to be returned -the tags were cut. So my issue was not being able to return due to past 30 days due to the fact that when you give a gift - you don;t tell the recipient to wear this right away nor know what adverse effect it will have on his skin on his wrist the moment he wears this, The issue was the way the delivery of the message was by this Arlene person-I felt that I was being accused of something because there was a different skew number on the receipt and there was a confusion regarding her understanding of what was going on with the other sales lady (nice sweet older lady than Arlene) I wanted to just leave at that point but my husband already had purchases on his cart. As we were about to finish paying at the cashier --I just had to ask one more time to speak to a manager which the male cashier told me was in the office doing something . Then another person named Lyn came to the picture and again told me that the numbers don't match with whatever she was looking at on the handheld machine she was looking at. Bottom line- I have exhausted my energy trying to explain but the worst feeling is that the lady Arlene and Lyn were making fun of the situation (overheard Arlene saying -oh -I am going to get fired) and they were making a fist bump as if saying -we both got her -I did not let her return the item. I have never felt so humiliated ever when shopping in any of your stores . Please observe how she talks to her fellow employees which transcends to how she treats your customers. This was a holiday for us ruined by the unhelpful attitude of this Arlene. I never Yelp but this certainly needs to be said and she needs to take extra lessons on customer care and kinder approach. read more

TJMAXX on Hillsdale has horrible customer service. They seem to have problems with people of color especially African American Women. Every time I buy some and return with tags attached and receipt they look it over say I've never seen that brand. Today I bought a chair when I got it home one of the legs bruised. I didn't put down my purse and returned it. The same woman Joainm who helped me take it to my vehicle said I should get in line..the line was long and o thought I've already been on the line so call your manager. .Meme the manager came and the lady said I can open a register and help her. Why didn't she do this before is crazy..The manager said to people in line will think you cut and they want like thzt..I said that's not my problem I came all the way back because of you product and you are telling me what the people in line think..she went in her ignorance saying you wouldn't think this if you were in line. The worse, most unprofessional manager ever! Needed a price on an very small item (out of an almost $300 shopping visit) because I couldn't find anymore in the store to get a price off and she was extremely rude about it like this is the first time ever one of their items was missing a sticker and looking at me accusingly like I took it off or something. While waiting for a person to try to find a price/similar item on the floor another associate said that she had seen them before and it would be around 9-12. Person on the floor confirms it was the only one left, manager has her tell me (from 3 ft away- couldn't tell me herself) it's going to be $15. I commented that the other associate just priced it lower - original associate confirms the lower price because she specifically remembered the items when they had more. Curly haired manager turns her back to me & starts whispering (again 3 ft from me!) and has the other girl say "No, my manager said it's staying $15". Not a huge price difference, but it was more the principle of it... clearly they have no issues whatsoever losing good customers over a few dollars just to be nasty. read more

You guys take clothes off the rack, carry them around and then decide you do not want them and scatter them wherever it is you feel like it (and this is probably the actions of 98% of the people in the store). This TJ Maxx doesn't has as much clothes as some of the others I've been to but it's overall still pretty decent. I came to get compote bowl-style vases to practice some wedding floral arrangements. I found one for $16 at another location and wanted to go to this location to find more. I ended up finding three more but one was priced at $16 while the other two were in the clearance section for $8 each. I don't know why there was a discrepancy between the costs. I got some Albani sour gummy bears (12 flavors) from here as well. I love that TJ Maxx has tons of sour gummy options. I'm a true sucker for sour candy. Since it's almost October, they are selling a TON of awesome Halloween and thanksgiving decor. You won't find more decorative pumpkins anywhere else. They even have dia de los muertos decor. There is plenty of parking. I will definitely be shopping here for my fall decor in the future when I have my own home. read more

This is an older TJ Maxx but they store layout and organization is AWESOME! My coworker told me this particular location had tons of desk calendars/planners so, off I went. Not only did I find a new planner... I came away with a decorative pineapple, some travel themed wall art and a fake plant in a modern vase for my desk. There's also a great purse and bag selection, luggage, cosmetics, housewares, lingerie.... the list goes on. Customer service was impeccable on my visit. The minimal line was being greeted by who I assume was the store manager. Every associate was extremely friendly and polite. read more

I don't know why this place has so few stars... This is definitely one of the best T J Maxx's around. The shoes and handbag selections are the real stand outs here, followed by their athletic apparel for women. The home decor selection is fairly nice, but the underwear section is usually tore up from the floor up. (Oh yeah, I'm sassy.) I'm gonna agree with Kristina H. on this one. This is T J Maxx, not a high end store. As such, the dressing rooms are poorly lit and a more than a little grubby. The employees aren't really there to help you peruse the merchandise, they are there to stock, tidy up as best they can, and ring you up. They aren't rude though, so as long as you don't mind fending for yourselves among the racks, you'll have no problem with the employees. Also, don't miss the chance to check out the impulse buy candy at the front of the store. They always have fruity licorice, which is one of my many weaknesses. read more

Just plain rude. I try to be extra nice to retail workers this time of year, but when they are RUDE to you, it's a different story. Came here to do some Christmas shopping with my mom. As we were being rung up my mom asked if she can return a gift she had gotten, a ceramic pineapple jar. The jar was defective and the lid did not fit causing it to completely crack when opened. We looked for one to exchange it with but the only other one was broken as well. The girl checking us at the register was very sweet, she asked a fellow employee behind her (long blonde hair blue sweater name tag said Veronica" to excuse her as she reached for a tag maker. "Veronica" asked why and the girl explained to which Veronica says loudly right in front of us "we'll that's not my problem" and her and a employee next to her (AJ or DJ or something like that) laugh without turning around to actually face us and tell us to our face.
