I went to this store for the first time and was greeted by Liz. I told her that since Covid I have put on a couple of pounds and not quite sure how to shop for my body now. She was absolutely amazing. She brought me clothes she told me what would look good on me I felt like I had my own personal shopper in the store. I am very grateful for her for making a difficult experience a much better one. Their clothes are cute and contemporary and fit well. And they are not nearly as expensive as Lane Bryant and have clothes for the modern day woman not clothes that were designed 50 years ago for fat people. This store is always clean and the employees are very helpful and they have a fair amount of clearance items to save you quite a bit of money. They run regular sales that can get you 1-2 items for free with the purchase of a certain amount of the same type and one of the their greatest aspects is the fact that many items are marked down more than their tags advertise. You won't know how great the deals are until they scan the items, but this store is definitely a big girl banger. read more

May 1, 2017 visit. Don't you just love it when a Customer Service rep of a retailer actually provides quality customer service? I know I do. That's what happened for me when I went into this Torrid at the Eastridge Mall. The weekend before a trip, I decided to do a little shopping. I brought in the circular that I had received, so I had a clear idea of what I wanted. After a couple of tours around the store without seeing the blouse I wanted, I decided it was time to enlist the cashier for my next mission. She too could not find it. Then she remembered that a new shipment had arrived, but was yet to be unloaded. She suggested that she would go back and search for it. But before she headed towards the back, another associate approached and commented that there were a lot of boxes. I told Caitlyn that I didn't want her to go through all that trouble. And without hesitation, she said it would be no bother. Since there was only one other customer in the store, I said ok. Then I just smiled at the other associate. Caitlyn was back in less than five minutes. So either there weren't but a couple of small box shipments or she was lucky on the first box. Thanks Caitlyn. I hope Torrid appreciates you. I know I do. Prices are reasonable - extra material equals extra cost. At least that's how I view the issue. I am in need of a dress to go to a friend's wedding in September. I shop at various locations and have been unable to find one I like. Torrid had a great sale online and I was able to purchase a dress to pick up at a store. Unfortunately, Oakridge Mall was their only location available. This past Thursday, I receive the email saying my dress is ready for pickup and that I have 7 days to pick up my item or it will be returned and I will receive a refund. Flash forward to today (Saturday) and I receive another email reminding me to pickup my item by 8/08 (Monday!) or they'll return the item and issue a refund. I have Tuesday off and was planning on picking it up then because it's well within the 7 days from the initial email. I try calling the store to see if they can hold it until I can pickup Tuesday, but it kept going to voicemail. The voicemail prompt is in French too. I tried to call about 6 times before calling the mall and seeing if they could patch me through. The same number they had on file is the same one I had and I still kept getting a French voicemail prompt. I spent over 50 minutes trying to get hold of customer service from the company website for them to also fail reaching this location. I would understand not being able to pick up by the first two calls, but in total I attempted to call 8 times directly, 1 time through the mall, and another through Torrid customer service. At this point, return and refund me for my item because I ordered the same dress to ship home for the same amount. For any accessories that I may want to purchase, I can just go to the Coleman or Great Mall location! read more

I love this store! I always go straight to the clearance shelves/racks. LOL. Why? First of all, I'm an odd sized clothes wearer type person. Big boobs, smaller lower area. So when I shop at stores like H&M or Forever 21... They fit my waist & my hips... but my boobs are busting outta the top, orrrrrr they are not zipping up or buttoning up at the chest area. Torrid to the rescue! The smallest size is a 0 ... but it's actually big on me. I love that I like the flowy top look. And the fact that I don't care about what's in season or not and to wear clothes for the right season? I actually don't care, I only care that it fits and looks pretty. Clothes here are pretty damn expensive at regular price. I don't want to pay $80 for a dress that only fits me partially and that I'll have to alter a top that fits me in the right spot but I have to find a cinch belt to add my hips to the shapeless ensemble. :) That's why on lovely holiday weekends if I'm at a mall, you can bet I am heading into Torrid to look through the clearance rack :) You have no idea how often I've left the expensive store with 6 tops, a dress and a pair of bottoms for less than $70. :) I especially love the way a skinny friend would say "I love that outfit!" and I especially love the way they look at me when I tell them how much I got it for :) read more

For a plus size lady, I do wish that the clothing are somewhat affordable. It's way beyond pricey for someone who hardly makes a decent income. I only purchase clothing whenever they have a clearance or a coupon with more than 10%. Other than that, clothing is cute and chic. Pretty much good fabric just a tad bit pricey for me. I be much more happier if prices are around forever21 prices. Much more affordable especially for the economy we are living in these days. Costumer service here isn't that great, hardly any work employees ever greet you while you enter in the store and also never ask if you needed any assistance with the clothing. P.S when ordering online remember if you ever use a third party payment such as PayPal, you're unable to make a return at the store but you may return by mail. It may cost you a bit more and there's no refunds on shipment either. You may do store credit/ exchanges if you use PayPal at store. That's about it. Letting y'all know that it's a bit tad cheaper online than in stores. The bad news is that you cannot try your purchases till the day you receive them. Short story: Bad experience!! Unprofessional. Shop at Lane Bryant instead in this mall for great service or a different Torrid like COLEMAN! I usually love the staff here but yesterday they made my sister feel insecure and I personally felt judged at this location. I got time this morning Long Story Timeee: My sister and I are shopping to go to Vegas for our birthdays trying on things left and right to get the right fits and look for her to feel confident and cute; An employee that works there, probably a manager, offers us an ugly dress- She was trying to be shady because of how my sister was dressed coming in there- A graphic hoodie with a dress and some overused slippers and messy hair, but as an employee it is not your job to judge, I worked in retail, actually hot topic a sister company, and I could tell they were being unprofessional and were not taking us serious because of how we looked. I speak fluent in shade so I told her the dress she offered was not flattering for Vegas, "you're not gonna have my sister looking like she is churning butter" after that they kinda left us alone because I was letting them know we are not the ones to be dealt with like that, I speak shade fluently. I go around the store and pick out things that made my sister feel nice. Some new slippers, silver heels, a popping white dress, some accessories for her and some for me- the fashion was having my sister feel immaculate and excited for our birthday trip. We spend probably about two hours getting everything finally fitting and my sister feels nice. We ask the employees to put our girthy pile on hold so we could get a fitting bra for my sister so she can really make sure the dress fits correctly because she's been losing weight recently and she loves Lane Bryant's bras. We leave for about an hour and I have to mention this because the experience and customer service we had at OAKRIDGE LANE BRYANT was the best service ever it was sooo day and night from the experience at Oakridge Torrid- the employee at LB didn't make my sister feel judged for what she is wearing and tried to find all the things and asked questions and was caring for my sister and we got the perfect fitting bra- literally how customer service is done!!! We rush back to Torrid about an hour later and when we get there my sister notices the last pair of silver heels that fit perfect that we asked to be on hold were placed back on the sales floor. We ask the manager if they put our hold away and they say some other employee put it away.. lol as a manager blaming it on a possible manager/ other employee, that's not team work ‍ ... we got there 40 mins before they closed and they put all our stuff back on the sale floor with no reasoning why. I don't see why they would do that, except for not believing us as real customers. UNPROFESSIONAL. I don't know if this Torrid just hire employees to make people feel bad or didn't want our money because of how we looked or just don't care about sales because of the pandemic or what?! But they got my sister sooo livid, emotional, and questioning by putting our stuff back we just ended up leaving without anything- if they kept our stuff on hold we would have thrown racks down. ENDING THOUGHTS: THIS LOCATION IS A NEGATIVE ENVIRONMENT IF YOU, YOURSELF ARE LOOKING A CERTAIN WAY. I was quite disappointed in my first and ONLY experience at this location. I purchased an intimate article mid august. The item fit just fine and was cute. However, it was defective and basically rubbed by skin raw after a couple of hours of use. I went back to the shop to return as I didn't want to exchange.... I was kindly greeted by a clerk who indicated returns for such items are not possible, only exchanges. I explained that although I understand, this should be considered an exception as the item was defective and basically injured me.... She called her supervisor over whom I repeated my story to. The whole time, this supervisor was looking at me with disgust and basically not backing down. I got irritated and basically told her I would need to complain and call their corporate office if she didn't provide me with a full refund. So she did..... then.... While I was still standing at the counter: She proceeded to pick up the returned item with 2 fingers and tissue paper as if it was complete filth or about to burst into flames... She then spoke up loudly telling all staff (and basically customers around) "do not touch, it's dirty and used!" Although I could have felt humiliated (and I'm certain that was her intent), I looked at her and told her I'm probably cleaner than her, seeing how her attitude leaves much to be desired on the outside.... I thanked the clerk smiling and said I would never shop here again. I'm sure most people have positive experiences in that location. However, she was rude, unprofessional and completely out of line. Decent alternative clothing store. I'm more of a Macys, Coldwater Creek, and Talbots type of girl, but I'm also in my late 30s and look silly if I dress too "young." I did shop here recently before I went on a cruise because they had a cute dress and shrug and a summer top that I liked. You definitely have to look past the goth and punk stuff if you're more conservative, but it's a nice alternative store to browse through every now and then. I didn't find the prices too bad. Note: It's not for skinny girls. I wear anything from a size 10 to size 14. If you're smaller than that, you won't fit in anything in here. read more

In general, I'm a fan of Torrid clothing. I can usually find something I like, and they fit me really nicely. I also love how inclusive Torrid is.... usually. This location? Not so much. I've gone in twice now, and both times I felt unwelcome. I'm mid-sized, so I'm on the smaller side of the customer-base for this retailer. I'm not sure if that has something to do with it, but there's a woman who works there who just looks at me like she hates me. I'm a friendly, smiley person, and I can't think of anything that might come off as suspicious about me. The only thing I can think is that maybe she doesn't think I should be shopping there when I could shop at straight-size clothing stores. The first time I went there, my husband was with me. I don't remember her saying anything rude exactly, it was more her tone and the way she was looking at me. When we left, my husband was like "Wow, that was weird. She was really hostile." I thought maybe I was just being sensitive and picking up on something that wasn't really there, but nope! He noticed too! I went again a couple of days ago. It was mid-day and mid-week, so there were only a couple of customers in the store. The other people shopping were greeted and helped, but I was completely ignored. I went to the counter, where two women were both working at cash registers. One woman was ahead of me making a large purchase so I went and stood behind her in line, as the woman at the open register seemed to be doing... something. But she wouldn't even acknowledge me. Neither did the other woman working there, who was the one who spoke to me with such hostility last time. When it was my turn to go up, I was treated very curtly. There was none of the usual polite inquisitiveness I get at other stores (especially stores for plus-size women, which I consider to be much more friendly in general). She didn't ask me if I'd found everything okay. She didn't even say hi. She just rang up my return and told me she was done. I'm sorry to this woman if I have offended her in some way, but if my being a size 12-14 is what she doesn't like, she needs to find another place to work, because Torrid caters to mid-size women too. I've shopped there when I was 100 lbs heavier and I've continued to shop there because I felt welcomed and comfortable. Not at this location though. read more

This Torrid store was amazing, which is saying a lot because I Love my Torrid back in Buffalo, NY. But this one takes a nice second place. One star for great fashions. Being plus-sized, it's difficult to find cute and fashionable things that flatter me in all the right places (especially skirts, which I Love to wear). One star for selection. At almost every Torrid I go to, it's next-to-impossible to find my size (I guess many Torrid shoppers wear 18). This one even had size 18s *gasp* on the clearance rack. I seriously did a double-take to make sure I was seeing correctly. I'm used to having to pay full-price for my clothes. One star for being organized and clean. The layout was nice, not cramped. Jeans were folded nicely. An array of cute, sexy, business-like, and punky outfit displays were around. Clearly, they focus on the presentation of their store. One star for the GREAT SALE they were having! An additional 50% off of anything in the clearance section! I got a whole outfit, some jewelry, and tights for under $50. Amazing. Yes, I'm aware that this was a nationwide sale, but it still made my shopping experience a nice one. They don't get five stars, however, because the staff wasn't particularly friendly. Maybe I'm just lucky with the store back in New York, all of the workers are super friendly and like to talk about fashion, or comment on items you picked out. This worker just kinda put my stuff in the bag, swiped my card, and sent me on my way. Not mean at all, just indifferent. Probably bored at work, which I understand, but I at least enjoy a smile. Well, I guess I should have known this was coming since Torrid IS owned by Hot Topic. The clothing style is getting more and more teen in nature which for me isn't going to cut it. I mean, I like different and alternative clothes.... but I am NOT going to go around wearing a Twilight T-Shirt or ironically unironic t-shirts that say "I love my gigantic tatas" or "I know I'm fabulous." When this Torrid first went in, I was a frequent shopper, but now their prices are just too high, their denim is unflattering on ANY figure (only boot cut or super skinny... what?), and the accessories are cheaply made for the price. Well it just so happens Oakridge is on my ex's turf and I missed my favorite Torrid. I missed it because they have a great selection of the stuff Torrid carries. And guess what? They even have my size here (some Torrids run out of 1x and 2x or 16s and 18s). I sometimes find hot jeans and a cute top here that fit close to perfect. Their clearance is the bomb too; they have some great stuff in those cramped up racks. I don't always find something to try on but if I needed something hot in my size I know that this Torrid has it. The staff is always helpful and won't let you linger in the store for more than 2-3 minutes without asking how you are and if you need help. Parking is pain though, so prepare and steer clear come the holidays. read more

Cheap quality clothing. Torrid used to have edgy clothes back in the day. My friends and I used to call it FAT TOPIC because it was similar styled clothing as hot topic but for fat girls like me. Now they carry a bunch of bohemian, preppy, trendy crap. WTF? And its sooooo overpriced but then again fat girls dont have many other options :/ Service here is ok. I usually have great experiences whenever shopping at torrid, my usual location is the one in downtown San Jose on Coleman. I recently made a call to this location to inquire about an item and the sizing of the item, it was a beautiful gemstone ring that came with a diamond band ($14.50) I originally bought this item online and wanted to exchange it for a size up. When I called I spoke with a sales associate named Erica, initially she was seemed like she wanted to help, but as I explained my situation she seemed flustered and in a hurry to get off the phone, as I was waiting for her to search for the item she was distracted and talking with co workers, Once she found that I was looking for a ring she rustled through the bin of rings while saying to me " yeah it doesn't look like we have it" I then described the ring that I purchased online and explain that I was told that this location would have the ring in a size 11. She then rudely interrupted me as I was mid-sentence and said "I don't have the ring that your talking about" I gave her the SKU number again and just asked her if she can put it on hold for me.. Again she rudely interrupted me as I was midsentence to ask her nicely to put it on hold and to explain that I would pick it up tomorrow but she hung up as I was talking. Absolutely horrible Customer services!!!!!!! I work in retail as well and I know the number one thing is customer service! I understand how to give perfect customer service, how to listen to the customer and how to take care of the customer, I do not appreciate when people are don't know how to give good customer service, I especially do not like that she was not only unhelpful, but rude as well. You don't have to be an expert at customer service you just need to be kind and listen to customers needs that's all! It doesn't take a Genius to figure that out! It also reflects badly on the company when their associates are not being professional and not giving customers what the need. All in all I would say I will not be shopping at this location, I am really disappointed, I really like the selection Torrid has but it's a huge turn off when there is sales associates who are rude, part of their job is to help make your visit be pleasant and that hasn't been happening at either locations. I went into this store on Wednesday of last week and I had a great experience! I've been shopping at torrid for many years now. I think they offer great options for us plus sized girls and almost my whole wardrobe comes from their store. I used to really like shopping at the Oakbridge location because the staff was really helpful and friendly but a few years ago the staff started changing and the whole vibe of the store changed. I was still shopping there because again, I like their clothes, but I stopped going as frequently and it wasn't my 1st option anymore. This last visit I had completely changed my mind! As soon as I walked in the manager Erika greeted me warmly and let me know about their promotions. She asked if I was looking for something in particular and helped me find styles of jeans that she thought I would like. The whole time i was there she was super attentive and kept checking in on me. When ever I do shop here the staff has been very courteous and is eager to assist you as well as letting you know about deals that are presently active or soon to be upcoming ones such as haut cash.
