Went in a few days later and purchased a charger, phone case, and screen protector WITH the protection plan. My charger didn't work from the get. Went back to the store to exchange it for a working charger and was told bc I didn't have my receipt they couldn't do anything AND Joe was no longer with the company. A young lady with a bad attitude, name starting with an A, told me to give her 48hrs to try to locate my receipt in their system. I gave "A" three days before I called up there and was told their system had been down. They've had no luck. Give them some more time and they'd call. The next week, still no word from anyone, so I popped back in. There, I was told "A" was no longer with the company (I can't even make this stuff up) manager, we'll call "P", said he'd personally be on it. Took my name and number down, STILL not replacing my damaged charger AND I needed a new screen protector put on due to a cracked screen. Nothing was done that day bc THEIR employees didn't put it into their system under my account?? Left very upset but tried to be patient and trust that "P" would make things right. After two days I tried to contact "P" bc he clearly forgot about me or hoped I'd go away. Went back up to the store at 10:30am to be told from a worker in the parking lot that they couldn't get into their building, "you'll have to come back". So I did later that afternoon. A different lady "helped" me as she made me wait for 20 min (there was no one else in the store) to tell me "P" was in a meeting. He never came out to help me. She handed me a new charger and screen protector and says, "P" ate this for you, just know if anything happens to these it's on you". Being a customer with AT&T for 10+ yrs and paying them more than enough money each month, you'd think things would have been handled differently. Absolutely disgusted. One star bc I had to.

He immediately told me they were currently running a sale for BOGO on the Apple Watches and proceeded to tell me about them and the options he had available for me at the store. I picked two watching under the pretext that they were part of the BOGO sale. The man even told me how great of a sale it was at he was sad that he was single and didn't have someone else to give the second watch to. I went through with the sale and that was it. I usually just pay my bill online and kept it moving. I happen to actually look at my bill and realize I'm being charged for the second watch, I call AT&T and they tell me that the watches I picked were never part of that sale and since it's outside of the return window. Not a big box chain…read more Just owned and operated by guys who lived in the Triad and shared in the passion of video games and, to a lesser extent, anime and that kind of stuff. Player's Choice was ahead of its time and I'm not sure the City of High Point's population/economy was big nor "advanced" enough to sustain it. I think a store like Player's Choice was better-suited for bigger cities and metropolitan areas with larger gaming communities that had more disposable income. New and rare video games, consoles, and anime weren't cheap! Gaming can be an expensive hobby. I visited this Player's Choice store in High Point multiple times in the late 90s. My mom used to drive me over 30 minutes just to get to the flagship store in Winston-Salem on Robinhood Road: https://www.yelp.com/biz/game-on-winston-salem. However, around the time this location opened, circa 1998, I was old enough to drive. I'd either come here by myself or bring my friends. As high schoolers, we couldn't afford much here, but it was still fun to visit and browse. This location was only five minutes from our house so needless to say, I was very happy it opened. Player's Choice had game rental plans well before services like GameFly. I got some great deals on used anime OVAs on VHS. Even in the late 90s, I could tell this store was struggling. During my visits, business in the store couldn't compare to the business I saw at the Robinhood location. Across the country, video game shops like this have been closing in droves because the demand for physical media isn't what it used to be. The Robinhood store, which eventually changed its name to Game On, officially closed on January 4, 2020. This used to be the Staples shopping center, but Harbor Freight is now the anchor in Staples' old space. And today, a Boost Mobile store is where Player's Choice used to be. Thanks for the memories, Player's Choice of High Point. Gone, but never forgotten.
