Over time I have watched T-Mobile in store support/customer service degrade so severely I was strongly considering switching providers. We happily switched to TMobile about 5 years ago. We used to go to the nice little store on Wm. Cannon and 290. Unfortunately they closed a while back. So we've used this store when we've needed to see someone. TMobile has given use FAR superior service than we ever received with AT&T, Verizon and Sprint (now part of TMobile). Recently upgraded our phones and stopped in here turn in the two old phones for an excellent trade-in value. Although this store can be busy, it wasn't too bad the evening I went. I now have Consumer Cellular because I refuse to deal with these three companies! So far so good about Consumer Cellular but when I saw an ad for t-Mobile, where you get two lines plus monthly service for $30 each , I had to find out if it was going to be 60 or $90 ... seems like a reasonable question right? Anyway, after trying the store I found a number for sales and I realized oh they'll answer this! They did but the man I spoke to was so rude that I ended up telling him I would never do business with T-Mobile and I hung up! So, I wanted to upgrade my iPhone 13 mini to an iPhone 13. Went to the store and they told me I had to payoff the remaining balance on my mini to be able to get the 13. I have insurance on it and after 50% of the payments I am able to upgrade WITHOUT PAYING THE REMAINING BALANCE (found this out after talking w/ a CSR agent by phone). After visiting THIS STORE TWICE, they told me I had to pay it off both times. The CSR on the phone was able to process my transaction and get me a new phone by mail in under 20 minutes. Just had the most bizarre and upleasant experience. We went in to ask about upgrading our phones. Kristian asked for the account PIN which neither of us could remember and then my partner's ID. When he handed him the ID, Kristian said, "I can see it coming. I see that attitude." Neither of us had any idea whatsoever what he was talking about. We hadn't had ANY indication of anything wrong or come in with a complaint. My partner said, "Just give me my ID back," and Kristian threw his hands up, stepped back and proclaimed, "You've got to give respect to get it." I watched all this and was just shocked. I mean. There was nothing, NOTHING that had happened to elicit this kind of response. Kristian created this whole situation out of thin air. He called after my husband something like, "Go on then." We called and got the manager who dismissed it out of hand. Both of us have YEARS of customer service experience. Let me be absolutely clear. NO ONE had copped attitude or had shown Kristian any disrespect prior to his outburst. Whether he misheard something or just had attitude from an earlier experience in the day, showing US the respect of just asking if there was a problem (there wasn't !!) would have diffused the entire situation. Unhelpful. Unprofessional. Unfriendly. And disrespectful. There is NO excuse for this kind of shocking, chip on the shoulder behavior toward customers. It is huge so all of the phones are well spaced; you can see an actual, powered-on phone for almost every model, which is a lot more helpful than the cheap models that sometimes don't even have real buttons. The one-star aspect of this review refers to one manager at one location of a T-Mobile store. Apart from bad reception in rural areas, T-Mobile is cool in my book. I bought an iPhone with a screen protector at this store two days ago and after several hours of customer service and tech support, nobody could fix the broken GPS so they instructed me to come back to the store to replace it under warranty. Jacob, the Retail Associate Manager, would not replace the overpriced screen protector with a new one, and told me he was "doing me a favor" by not charging me a $50 restocking fee to replace my defective phone. So, thanks a lot Jacob. Here's a 1-star review for your crappy customer service. The only solace I took in the encounter was when my wife and two kids (under three) came in to see what was taking so long and my toddler had a screaming fit in Jacob's general direction. Also, hi Jacob! (I told him I was leaving this review right after I wrote in front of him at the store). The guy who sold me the phone two days ago was cool. The guy who began my customer service experience at the store before Jacob took over was cool. The guys over at the 41st street T-Mobile were always cool. The only reason you pay so much for that overpriced screen protector at the actual store is to be able to put the brand new protector on a brand new screen. As soon as you take it off and reapply it it gets dusty, the edges become less crisp, and in Jacob's case of reapplying it it's not centered. Jacob, as the manager of the store, had flexibility in the matter and chose not to make an effort. At the 41st street location I've negotiated prices before. At one point, Jacob actually had the gall to tell me that T-Mobile was losing $250 by me returning my phone because after I return it can only be sold as refurbished. Oh, I'm sorry one of the hundred million phones you guys sold was a piece of junk and your multi-billion dollar company is going to have to shuffle a couple pennies around on a spread sheet! My bad! And thanks again for "doing me a favor" by honoring your contract and taking my defective phone back in under 14 days. Everyone, T-Mobile is fine (as long as you don't live in the middle of nowhere), but avoid Jacob at the T-Mobile store on the corner of MoPac and William Cannon. Update: My new replacement iPhone's data kept reverting to No Service a few times an hour requiring a restart each time. I stopped by the store to see if Jacob had sabotaged my phone (just kidding), really to get a new SIM card, and a guy named John helped me and was super cool and knowledgable. Thanks John. read more

So this review is about Matt. He deserves several stars. He takes his time and breaks everything down for you in a way that you will understand. We were interested in the WHITE Samsung Galaxy Note 2's but he said they only had black. He checked around and we understood. However, we actually found white phones elsewhere through impromptu research of our own. Matt is excellent at what he does. He tries hard, he is focused, and all he cares about is that the bottom line is fulfilled. We could not ask for a better T-Mo representative. He truly represents, so thanks, Matt!! The worst customer service I have ever gotten I the 12 years I have been their customer. I went in to habe the Netflix added to my account. I was helped by a young lady for a half hour who didn't know how to do it. She asked another guy that was there and he kept insulting android phones for not being as good as Apple. He said that he always went through the app and it was easy. Fast forward and he couldn't figure it out. He said we should just go home and try to figure it out on our computer or call customer service. I was there almost a hour with no resolve and told to figure it out myself. I will never go back to that store, I will figure it out myself. This is really bad because I have always gotten the best customer service from T-mobile. Have a biz contract w T-Mobile & converted to their new plan. Switched to new plan today getting 5 new phones. All said & done, the thing that keeps me with T-Mobile is their service, period! Liz was the representative that assisted me today and she was AMAZING! She worked her tail off to help me get the best plan, the best combo of phones and data. In addition she set up each phone, put the screen protection on my phone & switched out the SIM cards. My only complaint is that TMobile requires the reps to check out biz plans differently than normal plans. When changing plans for biz, the reps must process each exchange as a separate transaction. I was required to sign 14 times as I cked out. Liz actually seemed apologetic & remorseful that she was required to take so long to complete the process. T-Mobile, please help her! This review is for the t-mob stores on William Canon/Mopac and Westgate. Just switched over on 7/4 from ATT ONLY bec. of price. Guess what! You get what you pay for: GARBAGE service, garbage quality and and overall lackadaisical attitude to helping the CUSTOMER! The stores are staffed with high school kids who only care about COMMISSIONS and making a quick buck. The minute you have an issue you get the run around. Cell reception is bad and all you get is 100's of text messages about past due balances even though you never get an email with an invoice. Amazing Just a horrible experience! I switched to T-Mobile yesterday. Disappointed by setup process with customer support over the phone several times, I decided to go a local store at 6611 S Mo Pac Expy Ste 300, Austin, TX 78749. Even though my 1st experience with T-Mobile customer support was disappointing yesterday, but at least they were all courteous and professional. I don't know if the mistakes made were T-Mobile overall process or by individual. But, at least I wasn't angry. However, after visiting the store today, I was angry with how I was treated as customer by a T-Mobile employee, even worse a supervisor. Walking into the store, I was greeted by a customer rep named Shanee. She was polite and helpful, but there was some sort of system slow down, and she told me the info was slow showing on my account and system might be frozen. Then the supervisor named Mike came by and told me I wasn't allowed to see info on my account, citing some policy. What couldn't I look at my account info to confirm my concern? Without understanding my situation, he was just blatantly rude to a new customer, and treated me if I committed a cardinal sin. Getting wrong account setup yesterday, having to call customer support several times, and having to wait for slow T-Mobile system to put my account info was nothing compared to a rude supervisor who wasn't there to help but was just there to aggravate customer. He continued arguing with me until Shanee managed to get the info I needed from my account. Being a supervisor is to resolve difficult situation, not aggravating it. Mike's behavior and attribute was totally unbecoming of a supervisor. He was very unprofessional and unpleasant to interact with. In my opinion, he needs training on how to interface with customer. I don't know how on earth he became a supervisor of T-Mobile, but this was the worst treatment I had ever experienced as a new customer. If this is any representation of treatment by T-Mobile, I can't image what sort of customer service I would receive from T-Mobile for the next 2 years. P.S. Initially, I was planning to send my complaint online on T-Mobile website, hopefully being read by a VP and maybe would receive a response. Surprisingly, there wasn't any link to do so online under "Contact us", even on http://my.t-mobile.com/ , to feedback about bad customer service. I switched to T-Mobile and bought a brand new iPhone 7 and straight out of the box the volume down button didn't work, I took it in and tried to exchange it (which they said they would over the phone no problem) and they wouldn't do it because I was under my moms plan and wasn't an "authorized user". After calling my mother in the middle of work in another city and having to make her call customer service in India, they told me they couldn't exchange it without the box.
