Thank you so much to the bike shop for installing my cleats!!! :)))
    Megan F.

I walked into REI on N. Lamar for the first time in my life feeling completely out of place. I lived in Seattle for 9 years so I know I am not a hippie or mountaineer of any kind. Believe me when I insist I GLAMP. I do not camp. I didn't buy my cycling shoes or cleats here, as the Northwest-y clothing sold at REI is not my style. But I'm so happy I came in. Here's why: Determined to get my cleats installed on my new cycling shoes, I took them to the REI bike shop at the recommendation of my trainer. Then I discovered the bike shop and saw that there are bikes... and fell in love. It totally made my day! Sean is super cool and efficient, and so is the gal who installed my cleats on my cycling shoes (I so regret not getting her name!). They turned out beautifully. I am so excited to clip into my bike tomorrow and ride! :D I walked out the door with a $30 REI life time membership, which includes complimentary cleat installation. So essentially the install was free with my membership. As I browsed the store after my cleats were taken care of, a friendly sales associate approached me and we had a very nice conversation! I quickly explained my lack of granola vibes and he welcomed & accepted me regardless. I felt so seen. :))) I am soooo looking forward to buying more cycling stuff here! Who knows, maybe I'll give in and go on a granola adventure with my Seattle friends when I visit the mountains soon. Thanks y'all! :)))

REI is outdoor gear mecca. I have been a member here forever. I always come to REI for shoes and yoga gear. I also love cargo pants. Some things can be price yet the proof is in the pudding. You get what you pay for and the gear is some of the best there is. Quality that lasts.

    Way too crowded here

Understaffed and overcrowded. The line has 15 or more customers and you'll be waiting half an hour just to get into the part that snakes in.

Great items! Shocked they don't allow dogs. I have taken our dog to other REI locations.

The young man at the register also gave us excellent service and informed us of all the benefits of being an REI member (We got the membership).

Everything there was something I could buy online or at a store back home. Parking was annoying, as it was paid street parking or you could get your parking comp'd at the hotel next door if you made a purchase at the yet store. There was a bar at the front/outside portion of the entrance where some patrons were purchasing beverages and hanging out on the deck. To me it was a little random, since the parking situation sucked and the view wasn't anything special besides the busy street. They had cool displays and a wide selection to shop from. They also had a customization area for yeti water bottles/tumblers. We left empty handed, but they do have large bathrooms for patron use which is a plus. I do love my Yeti products, but this experience was a little disappointing.

They had people in giant coolers doing cold plunges, free coffee outside, ice sculptures, a band playing, oysters, etc! It was awesome. That was my first time browsing the store. I took my fiance recently to check it out and pick up a couple Christmas gifts. You can customize almost anything right on the screen and then wait for it or go back to pick it up. The wait time was 3 hours, so we went back the next day. They have a bar on the patio so I imagine those people having drinks were probably waiting for their orders. Friendly customer service, and clean and organized store.

We had formerly tried the customer service corporate line and no luck with replacement seat. By happenstance, we were rebooked on our vacation to stay to Austin and driving around spotted the Bote sign! It's a fantastic store with so many different models and accessories. The actual seat we need for our Deus's isn't available for some reason, but amazing Ben was able to find a different seat that absolutely works. He had our model in the store and took the time to show us the other seat, blow it up and latch it to make sure it would work. SOLD! I bought 2 seats and 2 paddles then, took his suggestion to get 2 cup holders to see about rigging them as possible pole holders. Really happy with the customer service and great showroom. PS - this is the only store outside of Florida at this time. Now I'm not so pissed about being rebooked in Austin when the AC gave out on my hotel in San Antonio. Everything happens for a reason. Problem solved. Happy customer.
