I've visited T-Mobile in Alewife a bunch of times over the last few years. In every case, the staff I spoke with understood what I needed and helped me with my request. Most recently, I came in with an elderly relative a couple of times and received great service from Cyprian and from Savannah. They provided what we requested, explained what was possible with patience, and answered questions accurately and courteously. They made us feel welcome and relaxed, and of course satisfied with their help. In the past I've come in and even when the store was crowded, I was seen when it was my turn and received good, knowledgeable service. The people I've encountered at T-Mobile Alewife are pros and know what they are doing, and are very pleasant to deal with. read more

My 89 year old friend was having trouble with an iphone with a dim screen. He thought the battery was gonzo. I brought the phone in today August 10. After a 5 minute wait a tall Black man took over the phone and solved the problem in less than a minute. The battery was ok. There was no charge. read more

I worked with Naiad, and she was pleasant from the start. We were able to laugh allot with my time being spent there. She worked hard to fulfill my needs of why I was in that store the other day. She even offered me a chair to sit down, and my reply was "Get that chair away, Im not old and dead yet" lol. She smiled the whole time. This is what customer service is about. And there was another guy there that assisted her and I appreciate him too. Even the assistant manager, I did not get her name, but she was good too. incompetent staff who have attitude problems and are seemingly unaware of when management will be present in the shop. I was told to come back the next day when a manager would be present to help me- nope. Returned the next day on to be told that there's never a manager there on that day. The staff member who told me there would be a manager the previous day was standing right there. They need to train their staff better at this location. Very rude staff. We were going to switch to lower cost plan and I think they didn't like that. They tried to convince us that we are making a bad decision by making misleading claims. Once we questioned their statements, they acted like we don't understand what they are saying. We talked to the manager who was also disrespectful and rude and decided we do not want to do business with them and left the store. read more

I was having very unusual issues with my new phone and my account. I tried to solve them myself and by calling customer service, but nothing worked. Jaja Leviner was so patient and thorough. He called Sprint customer service for me and pushed the issue through to Advanced Tech Support. He and his coworker actually stayed late to get my phone working. I went in to buy an Apple !3. All went well. Other customers came in and Junior was the only one on the floor. I said help the man. I wasn't in a hurry. I thought it was going to be one question. It was way more than that. The man was hard of hearing so Junior had to repeat everything more than twice. The man left happy. I felt good about letting him into my work space. I thanked Junior for being so patient with him. I said we were all going to be there some day. Junior was multi tasking with the next customer and me. Do you have anything planned for today? Then you should probably put off your visit to this T-Mobile, because it's going to take a while. Everyone here is extremely friendly and helpful, but man, everything takes SO LONG. The nice thing here is, this is a huge store, so you're never going to feel cramped. You'll have plenty of time to check out all the phones without feeling like you have to dodge customers the whole time. The majority of what there is left to say about this location is the same as any other official T-Mobile location (not necessarily the secondary sellers, who are pretty varied). Same selection of phones and accessories, same plans, etc. You won't find a lot of variety, though given all of that, this is one of the nicest locations around. If you want someone who can really speak knowledgeably about the phones, or do a detailed breakdown of your plan to help you find the best options, or give you advice on how best to use what you already have, the people at this location will do all of that, and do it well. They'll just take a while to get to you. Maybe it's because they're so helpful, or maybe it's because the whole T-Mobile system is just slow, I don't know. But I've very rarely gone in and out quickly when I actually had to deal with a Customer Service person. If you have anything difficult to do, it'll be worth your time to come here, but if you just need to purchase a screen protector, you're probably going to wait. read more

I've been with T-Mobil 6 years now, and I always go to the Cambridge office. They are so helpful and patient, even when I'm not buying anything and just need technical help. Today I opened my purse and my credit card case was missing. I went out to my car to look for it, didn't find it, started to call everyplace I'd been--and they called. It had fallen out in the store. They also gave me some advice about buying a new phone at a lower price--even though they would clearly make more money on the more expensive model. Great service--and thanks, Junior. read more

Great experience for me, a total idiot when it comes to this kind of thing. JAJA LEVINER was amazing: walked me so patiently through the entire process, of buying a new phone and signing up for the new service. He found a great deal on the trade-in of my phone, and a plan that would also save me big bucks. I ended up with a credit on my phone, and was able to spend that money on headphones!! I will return to this T-Mobile, because I was so impressed with JaJa. I had a bad experience with this T-Mobile store. My husband and I went in to ask about switching our phones over from Verizon. The associate asked us some questions and said we qualified for two special promotions: Promotion #1 - He said we could trade in a phone and get a new Samsung phone free. I showed him my old phone, and he looked at it and agreed it was time for a better one. Promotion #2 - Since we have our own small business he said we could use our business tax ID to set up a new business account and get a $200 credit per line. We chose this deal and drove home and came back with our business tax ID. The associate set up the account and I purchased a new phone. He then gave me a phone number to call it to finalize the $400 in credits. I was surprised since, I thought it was automatic. I called the number the next day and was told only employees of certain business qualified. I then went back to the store and saw the same associate. I asked to return the phone I had bought and take promotion #1. The associate then told me I did not qualify for promotion #1, since my old phone was not an iPhone. This was also a surprise, since he had looked at my phone the day before. The associate said he'd talk to his manager about honoring one of the promotions he had told us we qualified for, or put a smaller credit on my account. He said he'd call me back. It's been weeks and he hasn't called. This is not just a misunderstanding. Either the associate was being deceitful, or he's very very incompetent. read more

Even his co-workers know he is a *miracle* worker when it comes to stubborn devices. This is the worst ever T-Mobile store I've been to. Service sucks and the manager is a ditzy clueless lady who should not be managing this type of business!!!.. We subscribed three phones (two Nexus 5s and an iPhone 5S) with Jon W at T-Mobile. Jon was fantastic to work with: he answered all our questions, and told us answers to questions we did not know we had. He worked through canceling our Verizon numbers (so good not to have to talk directly to THEM), copied all the key stuff from old phones to new and kept up a conversation with us while having a phone in his ear to all the various parties involved. I came to this store to replace lost my SIM card on 7/8/18. For starters, sales rep asked me for my PIN, which I didn't remember, then he lied to me that the only way to replace a SIM card was via T-mobile web site and he didn't have access to my PIN, though I replaced my lost SIM card last year at the same office with no problem. I left the store empty handed. Next day I went to T-mobile store in Burlington Mall and voila -- I had my SIM card replaced in no time. Never coming back to Alewife store ever -- unprofessional and ignorant people work there. read more

I was expecting the worst - both retail and tech are usually guaranteed customer service failures waiting to happen, but I had the best experience. Xavier (?) was courteous, professional, and was willing to do as much (or as little) as I wanted.
