We went to the Verizon store in New London at 4 PM today (February 5, 2023) to purchase a 4 mobile…read morephone plan. While the sign on the door indicated that store is opened until 6 PM on Sundays, the place was closed and locked up. There was no sign to indicate why it had closed at least two hours before the time specified on the door. This is just one of several troubling events that have occurred for us at this location. A few months ago we tried to buy a phone plan and submitted all the required information, but then were told that the forms could not be processed that day and we should come back the next day. We did. But the person working that day, who we learned was the manager, could not find the paperwork. Even a phone call to the sales person who had been working the previous day proved fruitless. A huge waste of time. Then, during this past week, when one of us stopped at the store in mid-afternoon to ask a question, the store was closed and locked up. We found a blue post-it note on the door saying the the sales person would return at 5PM. It is great that some people have done well at this store, but our experience has shown that its manager and its sales staff are unprofessional and incompetent. We had hoped to do business locally by trying to get phones for our family at this location, but we now are persuaded that we must go out of town to do so.

My Customer pick up item was not in the bin when I arrived and we were assisted by this young man who looked through every single bin in the hopes of finding it and when he could not, he refunded the order with a merchandise credit and helped me locate the items that were on that order, even looking "on the dock" for one of the items when my size was not on the racks. This young man was friendly, apologetic and eager to help and made this bad experience better. I did speak to Manager Chris about this employees excellent service, so I do hope he was acknowledged as he deserves it.

We went through the toy section and were pleasantly surprised at seeing Leggos on sale with a table on which several unicorn Lego toys were placed next to a 30% off placard. We got several among other toys. Got to the register and the cashier rang one at full price. Upon our challenge, he started "apparently it depends on the unicorn". Take out or leave it. To put items on a table marked 30% off and then ring the item at full price is horrible ethics. Sadly, we have been assiduous Kohls customers, especially during holiday season.

The experience couldn't have been easier or more professional: the guys in the store were helpful and proactive over the phone, the furniture came exactly on time, the delivery guys were great, and when our furniture finally arrived and the rented stuff got sent back, there wasn't even any paperwork to fill out. The only hiccup was that their truck couldn't make it up our (very steep and snowy) driveway at the end of the rental and so we paid the movers who were bringing our new furniture to bring the rental furniture back to Rent-A-Center, but even there the store was incredibly easy to work with. What a great experience.

The sneaky/shady part is the day you pick it out is the day your contract starts which they didn't disclose so the first weeks "rent" was for 2 days of use. Lost 5 days of $$$.

I know that in Hanover there's virtually no competition so people don't care about basic customer service, but the internet exists now too so there's really no reason to wait around hoping to be helped by people who couldn't care less.

Jeff was helping someone, but he greeted me right away and within minutes was giving a sympathetic ear to my tale of woe. The fix took over an hour, so I went shopping. When I returned, there were a couple of steps we had to do to complete the job, so I got to hang out and learn a little about Apple, the Cloud, earbuds... Closing time came and went, but he put the final touches on the repair without any negative 'tude at all. I left feeling happy and cared for, a little smarter, and with a tic-free tablet to boot. There's a Vermont one, and a Queechee Gorge patch available. There's a food counter attached to this place with outdoor seating. It's reasonably priced.
