This is my full update review (I have removed my prior). TL;DR at bottom…read more I saw Doctor Chimes around one year ago for intense hip and back pain. Right away, it was clear he cares more about his personal time than his patients. He told me he wanted yes or no answers and not explanations to his questions (and wouldn't really let me explain things in full even when it would clarify things). After my MRI, which showed multiple spinal issues (bulging, herniated, parse defect, which is a fracture) and bursitis in the hip, he gave me a shot for the bursitis that had already begun healing on its own. During this time, I continually try to tell him the pain is not in the location of the bursitis anymore. He continually ignores or even speaks over me. At the end, I am again trying to tell him I feel pain elsewhere in my hip even though there is a little reduction after the shot (but I was numbed, so of course it would hurt less). To test my pain, he had me stand up from my chair...once. Worse, when we were done and I was alone in the room, when I tried to get up to put my pants on, the pain was so intense I collapsed. This pain happened again when I got home and tried to take one step up the stairs. During our last appointment, instead of listening to me, he tells me "Your pain doesn't match the MRI", and that tells me I'm about to be dismissed, but then it got worse. He continues with, "In his professional opinion, you just need internal pelvic floor PT". Why? Because I'm a woman...and he asked me 2 or 3 YES or NO questions around sex and did not let me explain the answers... I told him I didn't think so, but he disagreed. Well, after speaking with a Pelvic Floor specialist, she disagreed with his assessment. So, instead of doing that, I went to Evergreen Sports and Spine and met with a new doctor who actually took my pain seriously. With his help and a new PT, another MRI of my hip WITH contrast (he was surprised that Dr. Chimes didn't order contrast as it's needed for specific tears in the hip), we found that I had a CAM Morphology, that should have been showing up on my other X-rays and MRIs, but apparently weren't spotted and/or reported...and that I had a tear in the Labrum of my right hip. Later, they also found I had a small pincer as well. So, a double impingement. I had to have surgery because the surgeon I spoke with next agreed that the tear was too large to not do surgery if I wanted to not be in pain. No arguing. No trying to talk me out of it. They immediately agreed it was the best course of action. I had surgery April 2nd of 2024 to remove my CAM and the Pincer they found, and then repair the labrum. While I'm still in recovery, my pain is down 80% of the time outside of flareups when I over exercise during my strength training. I would never send a woman to him, as she will be dismissed. I was in so much pain that I was crying after collapsing at the office during my last visit. The only reason I am giving this location a 2-star is because the women at the front were incredibly nice. This review is leaving out a lot of other smaller issues I had during my short time there. Maybe if you're a man, it'll be worth it, but if you're a woman, go elsewhere. I cannot, in good faith, recommend this office or Dr. Chimes. TL;DR, Dr. Chimes ignored what I said and then gave a sexist course of action due to my gender. New doctor 2 months later discovered the issue and that I needed hip surgery to remove two bone defects and a tear in my labrum. I have now had surgery and am doing well in recovery with a large reduction in pain.

I haven't had much, if any, neck issues since then. And even if I get some flare ups, I feel confident to resolve that with the exercises he's given me, and it resolves within a week (usually less). I recently started having really bad lower back pain for about the last 1-2 months and I finally made an appt to see him today. Zach gave me such an informative rundown on the root issues and the assessment was spot-on to my bad [posture] habits. He assured me in the way I needed it and again gave me the proper tools and exercises to feel confident that I can tackle this. I left feeling much less stiffness and tension in my lower back bc he spent some time loosening it up and adjusting my back. Can't say enough wonderful things about the guy and his knowledge. At that point in time the pain was bearable and I did not have the money to go for a surgery. The pain gradually got worse and I went to Dr Schuster here in Seattle with the prior diagnosis and tests. Dr Schuster made me undergo multiple more tests which cost me thousands of dollars while my pain increased. Finally when all the tests confirmed that the diagnosis by the Doctor in Phoenix was right , he mentioned that he was not specialized to do the surgery and that he would recommend another doctor who could do this surgery. He assured me that he had great relationship with this doctor and that he would be able to get him to see me quickly. This "Recommended" surgeon who by the way had poor online reviews could only see me after 3 months and when calls and messages to Dr Schuster went unanswered, I went to another doctor to get my surgery. Stay away!! from this guy unless you want to spend a fortune on useless clinical visits and tests.

This is the worst doctor experience I have ever had! When I walked into his office and sat in a…read morechair, he told me it was the wrong chair and pointed to the chair I had to sit in. He started off the conversation by telling me that he was sure that I wanted to hear his credentials. I said no, I just wanted to get started. He proceeded to take over 5 minutes to list his own accomplishments. During the conversation he would ask me a question. I would start to answer and get about 3 or 4 words out and he would hold out his hand in a "stop" position and tell me to stop. At one point I kept talking to finish my sentence. He yelled at me to stop. He talked me in a condescending manner, like I had no idea about my own thoughts. Most of the discussion was him talking to himself as he typed on his computer. I told him at the beginning of the discussion that I had anxiety and needed him to just tell me the necessary things I needed to know. He began listing all of the things that could be wrong with me. When I asked him to stop because of my anxiety he barked at me to stop talking and continued to talk to himself about additional things that could be wrong. Using outdated lab results, He became fixated on the idea that I had a autoimmune disorder without any current testing. When I told him that these results had been remedied and there were more current lab tests, he told me to stop talking. Instead of taking the time to wait to get new lab tests, He actually put an autoimmune disorder on my medical chart right then, without any concrete evidence. Later, with another doctor, it was determined that I did not have a disorder at all! It is a dangerous thing to diagnose and report without evidence. My friend had come with me to the appointment and I texted her to come back into the office because he was scaring me. He told her to sit down and not talk. When she tried to ask a question on my behalf, he barked at her to stop talking! He ordered unnecessary tets that uktimately showed he was wrong. I did not go back to him, but other doctors were able to tell me the good news. They were shocked that the diagnosis was already on my record and it was wrong! I have dealt with other arrogant doctors and I can bite my tongue if there is progress. There was no progress, only unnecessary worry and money. I feel this man is dangerous! On another note, when my friend was sitting in the waiting room, the office staff was having a loud debate about whether fingernails or toenails grow faster, then they started playing tag in the waiting room. A woman came in to buy supplements. When she left they openly mocked her.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I actually have never left a review before but as a health…read morecare professional myself I seriously want to warn others (especially women) about this doctor. I went in for an initial intake and spent $450 for one of the worst medical experiences of my life. His manner was cold, dismissive and arrogant. He asked questions and then would talk over me before I even finished answering. He scoffed at a treatment I stated I was interested in for PTSD. I made it clear I was a mental health professional and nutritionist which I was hopeful would give him some perspective on my knowledge level about health and trauma. Needless to say, it did not. But it did apparently give him permission to talk about his trauma and his experiences throughout the entire appointment. I would say I learned more about him than he did about me. In addition, I got a lecture on ibuprofen with absolutely no compassion for the 42 years of chronic pain I've lived with. I also got scolded for the way I took my socks off because it was contaminating the air (huh??). To be honest, as a middle age woman who has 4 children and an extensive history in the healthcare field, I am so completely and utterly sick of being talked to as if I don't know a damn thing about my own health and my own body. White male doctors are the bane of the healthcare field and it is time for them to get over themself...gah! The amount of mansplaining during this appointment was next level! I mentioned multiple times during the initial verbal intake process I had PTSD and trauma. He made no attempt to recognize this nor did it inform his physical exam of me at all. His examination was rough and haphazard. He made clear he wasn't trying to hurt me but it was necessary to "know what's going on". He is absolutely 100% is NOT trauma informed. He repeatedly touted that he knew what he was doing which I NEVER take as a good sign. When a doctor continues to talk about what he knows and how others don't know what they are doing it is a huge red flag. He also has no respect for others time which at the tune of $360 per hour does nothing but pad his own pocketbook. I came in with all my paperwork filled out (easily an hour and a half of my time) and he barely looked at it. At the end of session he stated (in a very grandiose manner) he had spent 90 minutes with me but would only charge me for 75. This felt like a way to cover up the fact that during the session he left the room three times to attend to other clients. From the time I arrived, I easily spent 45 minutes just sitting around waiting. If I charged him my professional hourly rate for my time and for listening to his trauma story, we would be just about even! Nothing he did during that appointment felt methodical or focused. It was all over the map and I was just dying to get out of there. My biggest regret is not just walking out of there after the first five minutes...a complete waste of my time and money.
