Been to T Post before and it was amazing! We ordered off the main menu and it was fantastic! Today we ordered off the happy hour menu. I'm torn but need to review as we have not tried hh menu before. I had the meat sweat platter, let's start with the manhandled chicken. 1. It's looked as if the kitchen staff was playing baseball with this dry under seasoned bird.. if you're going to Serve dry mangled food at least cover it in that bbq sauce... 2. Sausage- the sausage was fine... it was store bought: from a distributor so kudos to the manufacturer! 3. Brisket- to be honest I would have probably enjoyed it had it not been room temperature and solidified fat when it got to my table... 4.ribs- hmmm what to say about the ribs I think they took my advice about the chicken and did that to the ribs... no flavor and just covered in bbq so it's a rib bbq soup! Over all, the whole dish was room temp at best. And of course I'll save the best for last , I was given the option of one side with this food and I went with the Mac and cheese.... One of the biggest mistakes of my entire life... no joke... I have had better Mac and cheese in a nursing home... and that's saying something. Service was mid... once we got Our food it was actually non existent.... There must be a water shortage because my glass was empty empty empty. Hmm I will say the corn bread was the best part.. Service was fantastic! We did have a toddler with our party, a booster chair was available but a high chair would of been preferred. The pickle spears were not what we expected, they were more like pickle fries, surprisingly a little spicy. The Meat Sweats was perfect for sharing. All meats were tender and delicious including the chicken! My recommendation would be to have more bbq sauce options. The sides and appetizers could use a little more flavor enhancement. I cant believe the deceptive busniess practice where they have a 20% service charge listed in fine print on the menu. Not seeing this and tipping the waitress 20% the check is 40% higher. The T-Post Tavern just recently opened and I figured it would be a great idea to try out with my family. I arrived right when they opened at approximately 4 PM. I was happy that I was early so that it wasn't so busy. The service was organized and fast and we were quickly seated where we pleased. Upon reviewing the menu I was surprised by how little options there were to choose from. However, there is pros and cons to a smaller menu in my opinion. I ended up ordering the burger and it was delicious! The burger was plain due to the fact that it didn't have any vegetables and little condiments. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my meal with the crispy tater totes. After finishing my meal, the waitress asked if we wanted to order dessert. I was too full to eat anything else. The waitress then advised that there was a mandatory 20% tip added to the bill. Although I am not completely opposed to a mandatory tip, it was quite surprising because I didn't consider the T-Post to be a high end restaurant but more of a fun bar and grill. Overall, the experience was pleasant but a bit expensive for what I received. Cold food but that's not the issue. Pay your employees a fair wage, don't make them beg and grovel at the table by pushing the higher priced items that would increase the margin and profit. The 20% surcharge was not mentioned at all until the time to pay. Responding by telling us, it's on the menu or it's online isn't good enough. We read menus for food, not for an explanation why you won't pay normal wages. i.e. We look at food choices, not policy when we open a menu. This 20% policy is not going to be popular. Certainly we won't be back but I hope these employees can find a better, fairer place to work. read more

I was charged an automatic gratuity for my meal. My girlfriend and I split a large meal and they just tack that on there now. This place had kids running around screaming and it had an electric bull you could ride. At no point was this a fine dinning establishment. In spite of all the great reviews I wanted to be honest in mine. The two big factors weighing into the rating are the food and their service policies. So first, be aware that they automatically include a 20% service charge on any purchase. That means even when I walked up to the bar and ordered my own drink I was charged the service charge which was later explained to me as 15% gratuity for the server and 5% for the workers in the back of the house. So in other words customers are automatically billed and charged for services regardless of what level or quality of services you receive. Don't fret though they still give you the opportunity for a "tip" when they bring you the bill on top of the service charge. Also be aware that there isn't any information on this provided before you order. As for the food, our food came out lukewarm which was disappointing as the flavor profile was pretty good. The atmosphere is pretty fun with the mechanical bull and western theme so it will be on my list to perhaps try again and give them a second chance. read more

We had lunch at T-Post a couple of weeks ago. It was our first time there. The place is nicely done in a western theme. The service was fine. I want to address the elephant in the room. No, I'm not talking about the mechanical bull, but the added 20% to the bill. This restaurant is owned by the same company as the Walla Walla Steak Co and Crossbuck Brewery. We ate at Crossbuck in 2021 and when the bill came there was a notice with it that there was a 20% service charge added to the bill for the employees benefits and health coverage. It seems there is some misunderstanding on the some of the T- Post reviews about the 20% service charge. Some said it was a mandatory tip and implies that additional tipping isn't necessary, unless you want to. However it's clearly stated on the bottom of the menu that the 20% goes towards health benefits and training. So that means it isn't a tip. If you tip 20% for the server and pay the 20% service charge you're adding 40% on top of your food and drink. That's a lot!! I think the employees benefits should be taken care of through the company like other businesses, and not dump it on the customer who is already paying expensive prices. On to the food, the lunch menu didn't have very many choices of entrees. I did look at the dinner menu and there were a few more entrees. However, I expected a bbq place would have pulled pork and bbq chicken in addition to beef. They do have a chopped pork sandwich but I didn't try it. I was really hoping for either bbq chicken or pulled pork and served in a more traditional way. I settled on the brisket sandwich. The beef was ok, but very little smoke taste and I didn't care for the red pepper and arugula in it. The cowboy beans were just so-so. Too sweet. My husband got a hamburger that was raw in the center. The server asked him he he wanted it rare or just pink inside and he asked for the latter but got a very rare one. Really fun country bar with high-end food and drinks. The service is fantastic no matter how busy the place is. There's a mechanical bull, pool table, darts, juke box, and live music on the weekends.
