I've been stopping by T. Pot most of the time when I'm in Calgary. It is one of the better Dim Sum places in Alberta. In terms of food, their siu mai (with truffles), shrimp dumpling, congee, beef meatballs, and rice rolls are all worth trying. Overall, I'd give it 8.3/10

This is an excellent Chinese food restaurant. My Chinese wife and I both enjoy a wonderful variety of food on their menu. The staff were very attentive. The prices, even at today's high prices everywhere, is surprisingly reasonable.

We were craving for dim sum and porridge. (It's my first time having dim sum in Calgary.) One of my local friends recommended this place. This place is nice and have decent interior. We ordered 15 items and out of all that, few things tasted very good; deep fried eggplant with shrimp paste, the salted egg yolk tart and the truffle siu mai. (Note: the eggplant didn't have much shrimp paste, so really just eggplant.) The rest of the food wasn't bad. As for the service, it was a bit rude. The staff at the front won't be able to tell us how the estimated wait time nor could let us know how many parties ahead of us until someone leave. If so, then what was the queuing list for?! Other than that, the rest of the server were rough, but this is totally understandable. Also, this place do get crowded. I got there at around 10:30am (Saturday) and waited for 10mins. However, by the time we finished, we saw a huge line. We estimated that would be over an hour wait. If you have a party of 6 or more, you can call in to make a reservation. As an overall, this place is average, about 3.5 stars. However, I gave a 4 star because of the salted egg yolk tart and the interior. Try this tart if you go. ;)

I finally found something that I like here in Calgary! Salted egg tart! Soo good!!! We arrived at about 10:45 and waited for 10 mins for our seat. Right when we got in we saw bunch of people came in and by the time we left there was a long line! We ordered 15 items! Yes 15 because we wanted to try everything here and compare it to what we have in Los Angeles (see my comment on the pic below) Come out everything was not bad although LA a bit better but consider its Calgary we just happy that we found a dim sum place. Price was a bit expensive but the taste was better than Phoenix kitchen. I think I would come here again.

Dim sum in Calgary! 2 yrs. ago when we were in town we were already pretty impressed with the quality, this time around we tried this dim sum place that is also attached to a HK Style Cafe, and we are totally impressed!! As you can see all the dim sum in the photos looks totally authentic, some even I dare say is better then in Vancouver! I am glad that all these N. American cities are getting improved ethnic food and the standard keeps moving up.

This place is not bad. The restaurants has two sides to it. One side is Chinese dishes and the other side is HK café style. Depending what you feel like. So came here for the HK Café side and I got the Korean Style cheese beef pot dish which came with drinks and for an extra $2 you can add chicken wings (3) or gyoza (4) to it. I like their chicken wings and gyoza. The gyoza outside has a nice and crispy bottom. The chicken wings are pan fried and has a pretty good flavor to it. I personally like it. The Korean Cheese beef pot is not bad. I feel that its a dish made up by them and not really authentic. But Its ok. Only issue I have is that it takes a long time to eat because its super hot and comes in a really hot bowl that cooks nonstop. But anything with cheese is yummy. I like it. Not WOW that is for sure. The drink I got was a HK style milk tea. Nothing special from what I usually get at other HK style restaurants. Décor is not bad. Its interesting and clean. Nice chandeliers. Overall, its not bad. Maybe one of the better HK style café in Calgary. I don't have much high expectations in terms of Chinese food here.

Authentic Chinese food in NW suburban Calgary. Huge menu with hundred of items and food comes out fresh and delicious. Dim sum offered here as well as Hong Kong style cafe food. Pricing is decent as well as portions are big. Large restaurant with lots of booths and of course round tables with lazy Susan's. Overall service is very good.

I've been coming to T.Pot for years now. The food is always consistent, fresh, and delicious. My favourite dish from here is the tobiko and dried scallop fried rice - it's a must try if you come here. The food may be scrumptious, but be prepared for below average service. The waiters will not be coming to your table to see how your doing, or to give you refills. If you want something here you need to ask for it.

What a surprise to find such a good Chinese seafood in Calgary. It was totally unexpected. Both the quality and quantity are amazing. We had the Peking duck and it is absolutely delicious. We ordered a soup with the duck meat for a minimal of additional CAD$10. The baby bean leaf is cooked to perfection. We absolutely love that place.

We had been eating overly heavy dinners over the past few days, so we decided to be relatively gentle with our order this time. Here is a breakdown of what we tried: Xiao Long Bao (小籠包 - Soup Dumplings): This is my daughter's favorite, so we ordered two baskets for her. They were executed beautifully. They were well-steamed on a clean sheet, and thankfully, there was no grayish blood seeping out of the meat. The wrapper (麵 皮) was right on the spot--not too hard or soft, not too thick or thin, and it didn't have that rubbery "chewing gum" or mushy "play dough" texture you get at lesser places. The pork filling tasted clean with no funky pork smell. Very nice. Beef and Tendon Noodle Soup: This was just okay, but to be fair, I don't expect a flawless bowl of beef noodle soup from a restaurant that doesn't strictly specialize in it (especially at a Dim Sum-focused spot). The broth was a bit plain and served lukewarm. The tendon, however, was well-cooked and well-marinated with a pleasant taste; it was a bit on the firmer side, which didn't bother me. The noodles were on the softer, sparser side rather than dense and chewy. I personally prefer a firmer noodle, but again, I can't complain too much given the venue. Spicy Tofu and Preserved Egg (麻辣皮蛋豆腐): I really liked this dish. The tofu had a fantastic, fresh soy taste, the preserved egg was delicious, and the chili oil and soy sauce dressing was perfectly balanced. If you are wondering what these "black eggs" are and feel a bit hesitant or concerned about trying them, I highly recommend giving them a shot here. This dish will easily fix those concerns! Overall, it was a great meal. I will definitely return, and next time we have the appetite, I'll dive deeper into the dishes they truly specialize in.

However, second day we thought getting a quick bite before we head over to the airport back to LA. But holy crap the service was rude as F. We first went in and the front desk lady took us to a window desk which was nice but she hesitated and give us another seat. We asked her so we can't sit at window seat? She responded "no" without given a reason. Guess what?! The next thing you notice she lets a nice looking Caucasian family sit at the window seat. Hey that's fine! but we are now trying to order some food now, but guess what? Waiter just ignores us and kept going to the window seat with his passionate services he was providing. While I was trying to ask for a tea... he didn't even ask what kind of tea and just throw me a random tea... I was furious cause this never happened in California at least not to me. He kept going to the window seat and ignoring us. So we just got up and left. 0 tips required to give in this restaurant. Very rude service and plays FAVORITE on which customer they decide to treat well. RUDE SERVICE and please stop discriminating!!!
