If you're dining in the area, you can choose to skip the restaurant dessert and come here. On my most recent visit, I ended up eating outside due to comfort issues. My Overall Rating - 3 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Heads up! The shopping strip is very busy, and parking can be a challenge. In the front there are many crêpes behind glass cases. It's like a wall of food art. Inside you'll find an open space with a few tables, tons of dark wood, an open kitchen, but on my most recent visit, it was uncomfortably warm. It's was pretty outside (early March), and there were a couple of benches, so I sat outside. 1/2 Star. Service - I think this is the new trend, but you now order through a kiosk. Now, there a lot of positives, because you can take your time and scroll through the selections. But for me, there's something about interacting with someone and asking for opinions. On the other hand, it allows the staff to craft your crêpe in the open, which is cool to watch. 1/2 Star. Food - Full Disclosure - I went with my daughter so I'm basing this review on her opinion. She went with the Chocolate Banana. Now, it was loaded, and the folks at T-Swirl Crêpe do not skimp on the ingredients. Each crêpe is carefully crafted from fresh batter. My daughter gave her approval. When I asked her how did her Chocolate and Banana crêpe taste? "Like chocolate and banana". Thumbs up. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. While the very warm temperature inside made it too uncomfortable for me to stay inside to watch the staff construct the crêpes, my previous visits have been great. Ordering was a breeze. Service was great. The workers switched out their gloves frequently. Overall the establishment was clean. Prices were fair. To-go containers were ingenious. BUT, the flavor of the crepes as a whole was disappointing. We did the ice cream add-on, so we expected the ice cream to be inside the crepe; however, the gelato came in a cup, frozen, with a freezer burn. Having lived in JP for over three years, we've been on the hunt for a truly satisfying crepe. We hadn't found one that compared to those in JP until this place came onto our radar. One of my favorite dessert spots in DFW that consistently delivers! Highly recommend getting the Matcha Chocolate Truffle with either matcha or pistachio ice cream. For all you who don't like matcha, JUST TRUST. I am not a fan of matcha either, but this item is the perfect balance of chocolate, whipped yoghurt and matcha. It also that doesn't let any ingredient overpower the other. Simply top tier. Fair warning, it can get pretty busy on the weekends. It's a simple/straightforward restaurant, you just go up to the counter and order. Or you can use the self service kiosks! I got the Okinawa crepe and the crème beulee crepe. The Okinawa crepe was okay, I didn't really know what to expect but there was a whole bunch of ketchup in it and I am not into ketchup like that. My friend ordered the Thai chicken crepe and that one was really good, just super hard to photograph. And the dessert crepe was really good too! A nice crisp and perfectly sweet creme brûlée crepe. Lol...I wish I ordered the large after I took the first bite. The crepes are made fresh. I had strawberry, granola, blueberry and I think yogurt. Y'all it was an amazing combo. Was craving sugar and ordered the chocolate crepe brûlée with strawberries. What we received was quite underwhelming, with sugar on top that tasted burnt which we removed because the texture and taste were not good (I get that this was to imitate a crème brûlée but it wasn't it). I love t-swirl so much! I can't wait until their Frisco location opens so that I can go more regularly. The menu is large and varied, plus it includes the calorie count (if you're into that sort of thing). The best part is most of the menu comes in two sizes: regular and mini. I tend to choose the mini because it's perfectly portioned and has a great balance of toppings. My favorite crepe fillings are the matcha chocolate truffle and the chicken teriyaki. It's a fun concept and affordable. My main complaints are that while they brag about the menu being celiac-friendly, they aren't doing those with a dairy intolerance/allergy much of a favor. Most of the sweet fillings include dairy such as the "matcha creme/ice cream", the yogurt, and more: you can definitely ask to not have that put in but it would be nice to know exactly what is and isn't dairy-free if they're trying to cater to diet restrictions. While they're not known for their drinks, I find it a problem that the only option available for lattes is whole milk. Not even skim or 2%. I typically get an iced or hot tea, but even those I find too sweet and end up watering them down. Most Asian restaurants/dessert shops accommodate with dairy-free options so this is a disappointment. Overall, the drinks are not enough to dissuade me, the crepes are the star and that's perfectly fine. But to me, doing a little bit more will pay for itself and really help. read more
