Would I drive an hour out just for salt bread? Yes. I love salt bread so much even before it was trending lol had it in Korea and it was unforgettable. This place did it pretty well. The truffle flavor was my favorite and I do like that their salt breads were very buttery. I did try other flavors like injeolmi, cheese, and cream too but didn't like them as much. The cheese one wasn't too cheesy enough and cheese was a bit too hardened. I took 6 truffle salt breads back home as souvenirs for my siblings (but mostly myself). I was looking for the trending Korean salt bread and this place looked promising. We even planned to have dinner nearby just so we can have an excuse to stop in this bakery afterwards. The interior is small but cute with a cool 2D design. The original salt bread is clearly the most popular flavor but there's a few additional flavors such a Bischoff, Dubai chocolate, truffle, injeolmi and red bean. They offer a few options for coffee as well as matcha. I also saw the Dubai mochi here as well. The staff warmed up our breads, except for the sweet ones, which was dangerous because now how could you not eat warm buttery bread in the car on the way home? The salt bread was dripping with butter inside and crispy on the outside. It was not overly salty like a pretzel so we very much enjoyed it. However, the truffle one was divine. I almost went back in to get more of that one. I regret not doing it. We tried one sweet one which was the Bischoff which was also very delicious if you like sweet/salty combo like I do. The only thing I didn't find pleasant was the customer service. Very dry greeting and absolutely no warmth. It was later in the evening but not any time close to closing. There were even quite a few people inside and just hanging out. Perhaps they had a long day but it killed the mood a little, which is why we opted to get the bread to go. This is a beautiful bakery decorated like a black and white sketch. I was worried it was just going to be a gimmick. But the food is very good. We got the prosciutto sandwich, a cheese bread, a jamon sandwich, and a strawberry matcha. These were excellent. I really appreciated the bread and the dressing. When I saw Dallas was finally getting a salt bread bakery I was super excited! I tried Childish Bakery once right after they opened and unfortunately wasnt too impressed with the service but I decided to give them a few months to settle in before trying them again to write a review :") I think their salt bread is okay, not quite like the ones in Korea but it tastes the best when you eat it right after you buy it! Otherwise it gets a bit soggy and not as crispy/buttery and tends to lose flavor when you take it home or let it sit out for too long. The coffee was also pretty watery and bitter when I had it during my first visit ( i believe i got the banana coffee/latte ) so id probably skip their coffee and either try their other drinks which i havent tried, or just get the bread! I stopped by today for the dubai chocolate cookie since we were in the area. It is pretty expensive ($4-5) for one small regular dubai cookie -- but i will say it is quiite yummy so worth if youre craving it!! We also asked if they had the butter tteok/mochi since i saw it advertised on their instagram and they were very confused by my question and slightly rude to us stating they didnt know what that was and bluntly said they didnt have it ( we stopped by around 12:30pm ) so it pretty much turned me off from being interested in buying more stuff not sure if they were sold out or just didnt have it despite advertising it but i was like oh!!! after they bluntly responded to us TT Not a big deal but both visits being subpar makes me think i likely wont be back to this bakery But! Childish was on my bakery list for awhile, it was okay but maybe got so hyped up that I had a higher expectation? But I really think it was just "meh". We got there shortly after they opened, maybe one couple in front of us & another girl came in shortly after. There's a screen to order & a register, we weren't sure where to order and weren't really acknowledged by staff or anything. We ended up ordering on the screen, then grabbed a seat. It's small but a decent amount of seating provided. The walls are white with decor "drawn" on it, which adds a lot of brightness to the atmosphere. I think we had a Yuzu Matcha (I think that's what it was) & a Black Sesame Latte. The matcha was refreshing, while the black sesame latte seemed to have too many "bits" in it. I love black sesame drinks, yes, I stirred it but there were so many particles in it that that it was almost like coffee bits got into the drink. If that's the case & it wasn't black sesame like I assumed, it was noticeable when the drinks were prepared. We had a regular salted butter croissant, a garlic cream cheese one, a honey one, & a chocolate one. The honey one was delicious, probably my fave, and not to sweet. Chocolate was chocolate, not bad but nothing special. I liked the garlic cream cheese croissant better than the regular salted butter one. Both had the perfect crispy bottom! The regular one I wasn't much of a fan, like I mentioned we had just gotten there & they were not cold but perhaps not fresh? It was kind of waxy. $40 for four pastries & two drinks, that's actually a pretty good price. I wish the customer service was better, there had been things I saw online or through the counter window that I wanted to ask about but they were just busy talking to themselves & not customers. We got the salt bread, a taiyaki, and the matcha cream salt bread. They all tasted pretty good. The salt bread has a nice crunch on the exterior and the salt/butter flavor hits you right away. It was really enjoyable to eat but there is a lot of melted butter inside. I felt like the butter coated my throat after eating it. The taiyaki was huge and had red bean in it which was nice. Made fresh so pretty hot. Our favorite was definitely the matcha cream salt bread because it had a nice balance of flavors. Matcha quality seemed pretty good and had a strong flavor. My friend took us here for salt bread. I have never heard of it, but was excited to try them. There was a kiosk to order. The menu was not very large. We shared the matcha and strawberry salt bread. The matcha did not taste like matcha flavor at all. The strawberry was much better. The salt bread was a little too salty. I'm not sure what the hype is but it's okay. Nothing too special about it. The tables and floors were really dirty. It didn't look like they cleaned the floors or tables throughout the day. The staff looked very unhappy and did not like their job. Original Salt Bread - Salt taste was very minimal but there was too much butter. The amount of butter was clear when you bite into the bread, the butter dripped from the inside and was all over our hands. OVerall, I wasnt a huge fan Truffle Salt Butter Bread - Reallllly enjoyed this flavor! If you like truffle, i highly recommend trying this. Holy smokes! I have never felt so light after eating bread. I really want to gatekeep this location but I can't. My top breads are: Sea Salt, Truffle, Garlic, Cookies n Cream, & the one with Nutella & condensed milk on top Their bread is light, airy, and fluffy. I recommend eating them there as they don't taste the same the next day. Their bread is so good I brought 4 togo and my husband & I ate all 4 on our 8 minute ride home. I'm surprised this bakery is rated so poorly! It's a small shop located in the H-Mart area, a bit past Pink Box and across from Sing Box Karaoke. We went on Black Friday around noon and the bakery was packed with customers enjoying their pastries. There's a kiosk where you can place your order. It looks like someone can physically take your order as well, but I'm not 100% sure since the place was pretty busy. We ordered 3 salt breads and 1 truffle salt bread and we got our order in less than 5 minutes. The breads were fresh and warm and we loved the buttery center! It tastes like the combination of a croissant and a dinner roll, but much richer and fluffier. The truffle had a nice subtle flavor. The bread itself is a bit oily, but what can you expect! I didn't have to wait as long as most people when I went to this bakery because I showed up right when they opened. I mean at 11AM I was inside. Although a line did form 5 mins after I entered. The salt bread was pretty good. Just right out of the oven when I went so very soft on the inside. They used A LOT of butter on these things because my fingers were glistening after holding it. These things would go well with a Vietnamese Coffee. I also ordered one of the premade "Basil Prosciutto" sandwiches and liked it too. While the food was good, they need to better optimize how the shop operates. There's only ONE kiosk where you can place your order. That won't work at all especially when a bunch of people are waiting. One of the staff members didn't seem like she wanted to take orders from the counter but directed people towards the ONE kiosk... From what I assume, the salt bread runs out very quickly so I hope they are ready with the next batch without making customers wait too long. read more

I had no expectations for what salt bread should taste like, but this bakery exceeded expectations. My go-to is the regular salt bread - classic, beautifully crisp bottom, ever-so-buttery overall flavor. I unabashedly inhaled my first one, and when I returned the second time, it was served WARM, and I couldn't control myself again. It's delicious! I also ordered the injeolmi and found it way too messy to be eaten without cutlery (which they didn't provide). I stopped by Childish bakery this morning since I was around the area when they opened for the day. I figured that it was the perfect time to check this place out after seeing it all over social media. There was a short line forming 5 minutes before they opened but nothing crazy. The way you order at the bakery is through the kiosk and not the counter. It's good to note that after you scan your card you have to sign, I noticed several people accidentally walking away from the kiosk without signing and grabbing their receipt. I ordered the truffle salt bread, regular salt bread, and the pistachio taiyaki. The salt bread is delicious I really like the truffle one! The truffle flavor is prominent and the salt bread is soft and crispy on the outside. As for the taiyaki I think I had the wrong idea on what goes in it, I was thinking it would be filled with pistachio and not red bean. Good to note that all the taiyakis have red bean with them. I think the real star of their bakery is the salt bread so I will stick to that next time. One thing I wanted to point out that I noticed during my visit was that I noticed that the disposable cups and boxes were stored open and close to the ground. This made me feel a little nervous thinking about how close they were to where people walked and that put me off of trying the drinks there in the future. A brand new spot in Carrollton! I feel like salt bread is all the craze right now, so it's very fitting that the most popular K-Town in the DFW area would also get a salt bread bakery. I came by on Thanksgiving, so they were already sold out of almost everything. I really wanted to try their salt bread with fruit cream, but they didn't have that available. I ordered their red bean taiyaki, one salt bread, and a strawberry matcha latte instead. The strawberry matcha latte was REALLY good. It had a great matcha color, and the syrup was made out of real strawberries. I actually am not the biggest fan of salt bread, but it tasted like how other salt bread I've tried tastes like. I came with my family because apparently the pastries sell out often. I ordered the black sesame latte, mochi bun, Dubai chocolate pastry, and their plain salt bread and cream pastry. The sesame latte was the best thing because I did taste the sesame flavor that was nutty and blended well with the oat milk. I'm a bit disappointed though because the best tasting pastry was actually their plain bread that just had butter in it and the cream bread pastry. The Dubai chocolate was not very chocolatey in flavor and had hints of coconut which threw off the authentic "Dubai chocolate" flavor, the mochi bread one with brown powder was very plain and extremely dry-The powder on top was so excessive and dries out your mouth it almost made you cough or choke. Korean salt breads have been the hype lately and Dallas now has a bakery that specializes in them. I went to Childish Bakery in Carrollton and tried the original salt bread. They have other flavors available as well such as strawberry and matcha, but I've read that everyone still likes the original one the best. Each one is $3.55 so it's a little pricey for the size. It's basically a hollow croissant with butter on the inside and salt on top. I liked the bread itself, it was pretty flaky and warm. There was no butter at the end though, it's all in the middle. So you basically only have 3 bites with the salt and butter combo, which is not a lot.. but I will say it's actually really good. I think it's good to try but I don't think I will be coming often read more

Checked this place out after seeing it trend on social media! We went to around 7pm on a Sunday evening, and it wasn't crowded. We tried a couple drinks and breads. Had to try the original salt bread of course, which reminded me of a pretzel, but fluffier and not as salty! The matcha bread was good too - loved the matcha cream inside although the matcha powder on top was a little overpowering.
