I bought a really nice plant with a glass container as my first one. This was years ago; I wasn't experienced in keeping plants and ended up failing my first one. The staff, mainly Lynn, ended up attempting to revive my plant and kept care for about 2 weeks. I returned and she ended up giving me a new one. She taught me so much about plant food, sun exposure; I learned so much about plant care ever since. The Rosehouse has been featured on numerous websites, articles and they even have their very own Podcast: Up The Plants! Lynn shares what inspired her love of plants and Maurice talks about how one plant in particular ruined his dating life. Unfortunately, I only see about 3 active episodes, but this one can be useful to get in touch with your inner plant. Plus, it's witty and humorous. I love their summary of their podcast, nonetheless: "All Plant Everything. Why we love them? Where do they come from?, How do we take of them? We talk global traditional uses for medicine, spirituality, current trends and environmental implications. Come nerd out with us." The Rosehouse has mainly street parking and close to the Mutiny Information Café! I always made the tradition of visiting those 2 favorite shops of mine. One time I purchased a 50$ gift card and was told that even if I lost the flimsy little paper the credit is written on, my name is on the system and it can be looked up. Months passed and when I went in the store after losing the gift card (again it's on paper) they said it was never a thing that they look up gift card by name. I won't ever go back after these interactions. Yes their selection is nice but it's overpriced and a rip off of someone else's culture or religion.

That was my experience with ordering a pantry from Modern Bungalow. It took a few months to arrive, because Amish master craftsmen took the time to build an absolutely stunning piece of furniture, from carefully chosen pieces of gorgeous maple wood. If the pantry were small enough to fit on a dresser, I'd call it a jewelry box; it's that beautiful. The pantry is amply-sized. Using traditional hand-tooled and mortise-and-tenon joinery techniques, the pantry is meticulously constructed. The substantially deep shelves, which I have already loaded with giant heavy canned goods (like San Marzano tomatoes, for making my famous pasta sauce), and bottles of imported vinegars and California's finest olive oils, not to mention a cartload of baking supplies, provide ample storage for any manner of pantry goods, and the hardware used for the pantry doors is substantial enough to keep them from ever sagging. Turns out the "clearance" cabinet was actually backordered on a container ship overseas. Their own invoice showed the items as B/O at time of sale. When I asked for a fair resolution, the owner: * Repeatedly ignored my requests to communicate via email * Hid behind Terms and Conditions, then contradicted them by threatening to cancel my order * Gave me four different delivery timelines, none of which held * Blamed BDI, the shipping company, and the weather * Offered me a net $50 discount and called it "reasonable and fair" * Gave me 33 minutes via email to accept an offer or he'd cancel The moment I asked him to commit to an actual delivery date with accountability, he cancelled the order and refunded my deposit. Robert held $2,000 hostage for seven weeks for a cabinet that was never coming. Save yourself the headache.

Just one week from the three year anniversary of purchasing it, the chandelier just quit working! The manufacturer, Troy Lighting, simply said, essentially, Too Bad, you've only got a one year warranty. UL, however, stepped up and connected us with a specialist in the lighting repair and restoration field and determined it could be repaired!!! We began purchasing from UL nearly 20 years ago and, today, more than 85% of the fixed and non-fixed lighting, and at least 35% of accessories, in our home are from them. Because of their professionalism to not just helping the customer, but also taking a proactive approach to doing what is right, our future lighting and home decor needs will come from UL!! Worked up a large home package with a known designer in the area, who then parted ways with the client for that. The Designer let me know this when it happened, and I informed the homeowner I would not be able to honor those prices if she was not going through a 'trade entity'. Urban Lights took those trade #'s and sold it all directly to the homeowner for a matching price. Some places will protect that Trade discount, as is only right - this is not one of them, evidently.
