Randy was an EMT, prior Navy corpsman, and has worked at a Rady's Children Hospital. He was very knowledgeable and I like his method of teaching that is easy to remember and practical. I had to complete CPR training as one of my career requirements and I did not know who to go to. So I found a few companies who offer the class but ended up picking Eagle 1 because I noticed they are veteran friendly and I'm a Vet myself so I went for it. I wasn't expecting nothing too fancy or crazy, or even to learn that much more new things since I was previously certified. But I must say, I was very impressed with the presentation and training! The instructor was really knowledgeable and they way he presented the material mixed with on hand training really gave you a sense and the confidence to perform CPR when and if times call for it. I usually aren't really into classes and such but I was actually very interested in this class, not only because the instructor was able to keep my attention, but that he presented a way in which myself or any individual can learn and retain the information presented. The instructor has great and witty analogies for remembering what to do in emergency situations that you couldn't possibly forget. Also, the instructor was loud enough so I wouldn't ever have to ask him to repeat himself over and over again. Great presentation mixed with strong emotion makes this class really really worthwhile. This class was one of the best learning classes I have ever sat in, and I have collegiate level degrees. The instructor is a expert emergency response attendant and I must say I'm very satisfied with the lessons I've learned and received! He definitely taught this old dog new tricks. And it's a plus when his company has received awards for this type of training! I completely understand why after walking out of that class, why awards are necessary for Eagle 1. I will most definitely come to Eagle 1 for all my emergency response training needs! I would definitely recommend this class and training to anyone who is looking for expert or novice training! read more

AAAA+++++!! A former MEDIC [and I would say a war hero since I believe he not only served in Iraq, but was a medic in the field and performed tons of BLS- which is why he makes everything so understandable and easy. He knows BLS inside and out, what can go right, what can go wrong, and he teaches you this- in an easy practical, common sense memorable way, including multiple experiences he has had.] As a medic- Randy made everything easy-peezy. Everything made sense, the numbers weren't overwhelming - he simplified it! It was easy real life scenarios which made sense, and I laughed and laughed. His sense of humor and energy are unbelievable. He also was kind to every single person. If one of us volunteered an incorrect answer, he would just say the correct answer- without ever embarrassing anyone. He made EVERYONE laugh, not just me. This is Definitely the best class I have ever taken in BLS- yes, better the Red Cross. Things that I found perplexing before, such as "about 2 inches" were explained to me in simple terms that just made sense. Questions I had about murky information- is it 5 seconds or ten that we check the carotid- were clarified with his incredible field experience and ability to teach even the new nurses. Memory tips were shared so that I know I will remember on the spot if I ever need BLS. I hadn't worked as nurse or taken BLS for 18 years. I knew things had changed, and I felt - yes, anxious. I was dreading the class- and now, I wish I could take it again. We had a teacher in the class for the CPR portion, and I could tell he had a blast, too.! This is the place. I will never go anywhere else. It was really easy to find, no traffic, and the parking was plentiful. Best BLS instructor ever...and a hero. He served our country as a medic :-). Cheers! read more

If you're like me, I was anticipating CPR classes to be very long and intimidating due to long hours and practicing CPR in front of people. However, my experience was fantastic! Randy is the greatest instructor I've ever had, even if it was only for four hours. He knew what he was talking about and shared real life experiences. He was engaging, humble, funny and approachable. I learned so much in that small time period and was able to remember most of it from analogies and walking through different situations that I could either relate to or picture myself going through. It wasn't "do this. have a good day" type of deal. Randy went deeper and explain things very thoroughly. He was realistic, practical and logical, which helped me combine common sense with CPR and First Aid protocol. I came into this class not knowing what to expect. I was greeted by Randy, who portrays himself as a very humble guy. He helped me get situated in the classroom, and then BAM. We hired them to do an in home CPR class to our family. My son is 19 months and we have a pool so wanted to learn just in case. We knew if we had to go to a normal class on a Saturday and hire a babysitter, it would never happen. I was happy to find an in home class. Randy taught our class and he did an excellent job!
