This is one of the more convenient gas stations off I 78 (Exit 7). We almost always make this gas stop on our trip from PA to NYC and back. The gas prices can be seen from the interstate for Pilot gas station but the prices are almost always identical at TA. I prefer TA over Pilot for a few reasons: 1. Parking lot is much less congested 2. The food mart is bigger 3. There are more amenities 4. There's Burger King and a diner 5. There is the Exxon loyalty program Since this is a hub for truckers there are showers and recreation like billiard table. One con is that several times especially early in the morning the gas attendant is no where to be found. We've had to go inside and have the cashier summon one, we have also helped ourselves at the pump a few times. read more

Really decent spot here! Food/Drink: Plenty of snacks, chips, jerky, sweets, taquitos, and fountain drinks. Dinning Area: None. Prices: Relatively inexpensive, minus the big ticket items. Parking: Plenty of space, side and back private lots. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Stock: Plenty of items, all stocked well. Clearly priced, and placed in correct areas. Checked in and received instant attitude from female employee because I gave her the information for trailer instead of tractor, no biggie and from there her attitude was horrible, I explained to her after she ASKED how would you be paying check cash or card that my company had an account but she still checked me in, no problem, the mechanic was awesome and my repair was done within a hour, I come back in to check out and she still has a problem when she handed me the bill and I stated that we had an account, you didn't tell me that...yes I did and then just nasty the entire time, I wasn't in the mood so I let that huzzy just be miserable on her on, I sat there quietly and I her her telling my company it wasn't her mistake when they told her we had a account and then when she had to get a override she still tell them it's my fault? Once you cross into NJ on I-78 eastbound and you are in need of a pit stop, this is it---meaning that you will never find another one again on that stretch of road. So...keep this in mind, when you see Exit 7, that's where you get off. You will see it once you reach the end of the exit ramp. Depending on local traffic, it may take awhile until you can make a left turn. Even more confusing, next to it is a Pilot gas station and a Subway sandwich shop. It's easy to get confused and go there first. We've never eaten a meal here. We stop here to use the bathroom and to pick up some bottled water for the hotel fridge plus, if we are hungry, we'll buy a snack. The bathrooms are clean. For quite a long time, they smelled of sewage. The first time I encountered that smell, I was reluctant to go in there. In recent times, that smell isn't there. I guess they did something to correct that. For truckers, there are showers. Sometimes when you're there, you can hear announcements telling someone who reserved a shower that their shower is now ready. We've never had any problems with people who work here as they've been polite and efficient, if not overly friendly. Parking here has never been a problem. Just make sure that you don't end up entering where the truck parking is because if you do that, it isn't very easy to get out of there. We've gotten gas here a few times and never have had a long wait. For those who aren't familiar with NJ, there is no self service at gas stations so an attendant is the one who pumps your gas. Over all, it's an A-Okay place to stop. It's not as easy to get in and out of as an interstate rest stop but if you gotta go, it's your only option on I-78 eastbound in NJ. This place is nothing but a money pit. 12 free spots and the rest is paid. Food is way over priced and very sub par food sevice food. Outback steak house is cheaper and better quality. And now since bp has takin over it's gotten really bad. A gallon of oil ( rotella) is 46.00 plus tax are you kidding me. The competition doesn't even charge that. This is my go to gas station and pit stop when headed across PA going to NY. Don't buy gas in PA if you can avoid it and definitely fill up before NY. There prices are crazy. If youre traveling through route 78 either going or coming from PA, you know there arent too many options for restrooms stops/quick shops. TA comes in handy as its right in the middle of getting off of 287 and the NJ/PA border. Love the big restrooms and its always clean and well stocked. The travel center has everything from big fountain drinks to beef jerky, NJ souvenirs and trucking devices. They also have plenty of showers and an arcade including a beyond rigged stuffed animal crane game that I always get a laugh at. I do agree with some reviewers about the snappy clerks. Guess it depends on what day and time you visit. Last time I visited saturday night around 11 and overheard two coworkers arguing. Only bought a soft drink and the clerk snapped at me before I could get my wallet out saying have a good night. Got my drink for free! For the truckers there are limited amount of truck spots. So they have no choice but to park on the side of the road or under the overpass. Makes it dangerous for them and the other drivers. read more

A fine location, since it's right off of I-78, and it's easy to get back on. Sometimes when I'm driving back from PA, I stop here to take a restroom break and top off the car with fuel. Aside from having the general necessities that you could find in a convenience store, they also have a small gift section as well. The restroom facilities here are fine. They also have a Burger King and a buffet-type restaurant here as well, should you wish to eat. Staff members here are friendly. Overall a great place to stop. read more

Country Fried restaurant has terrible food and terrible service. This was our second time dining to give them a second chance as our 1st experience was also horrible with cold uncooked food. Husband and I sat down at the same time. We also ordered at the same time. However, the waitress who seemed a bit confused asked husband for his order again as she forgot to write it down and turn it in. After speaking to lead waitress Billie stated that their waitress Maybel stated that we sat down at different times that's why she didn't get both our orders in at the same time. Now I see why Big Bear are taking over most TA's and why their lobby is empty. Both lead and waitress need more training in Promptness, Politeness, Professionalism and Personalization. We got there at 10:00 pm. We were hungry and tired. New York traffic is brutal for an 18 wheeler. The waitress wanted to leave at 10 pm and by God we sat in her section. That was our first strike. I just got gas here and the man pumping fuel and taking my credit card was not wearing a mask. Both my husband and I put our masks on for when we opened the window to give him our cc. I called as we drove out to ask what their protocol is for mask wearing by the fuel attendants and was told that they are supposed to wear masks but that "he" doesn't. I've pretty much filled my car here every weekend for the past 2 years. I don't fill it anywhere else. It's a good spot with an awesome rest stop. Bathroom can get dirty sometimes (which all bathrooms usually is), but they always have someone coming in to clean. Drink selection is great. Price on food and snacks as well as the drinks are pretty low compared to other gas-stations. I drive to and back from NY to PA so this place is on the way for me. They do need more workers for the pumping gas. 1 person running to 4 cars sometime takes too long. There's a Burger King (they don't accept coupons), and they have an american-style buffet (I never tried). But overall it's a good place. read more

We frequently travel from NY to PA on Friday evenings and this is always our stop in both directions. The price of gas is much cheaper than NY (about 40 cents less) so I make sure I fill up! The bathrooms are clean and the quick mart has a good selection of drinks and snacks plus I actually like their coffee which is unusual for this coffee snob ;-) Every now and then they have other odds and ends on sale here and I purchased a gigantic stuffed dog for $20 one Christmas that I absolutely love! Great spot! Got my rig all fixed up in no time what so ever and haven't had a problem since. I have been going here for over 30 years. Nothing has changed much in that time. I do not know who's fuel they are pumping ( used to be exxon/esso ) but my vehicles love it cause i get great mileage on each fill. Stopping at this place was a huge mistake. My AC needed to be fixed so I had them do it. After about 3 days where I had to stay in a motel, I returned to pickup my truck and found out the bill was over $2000.00. I was not happy but I paid and left as I had a schedule to keep in Denver. Their 2000 dollar repair lasted just about a day and a half then the ac shut down and wouldn't work again. I had to finish my trip to Denver in miserably hot conditions. Once there I took it into the TA shop there. They called the Bloomsbury Ta shop, the one that charged me $2000.00 to fix it, and their manager refused to warrantee the work that they did, so I had to pay another $500.00 to fix it again. Worst shop ever and their manager is more like a used car salesman than a shop supervisor. I did eventually get my $500 back but I had to do so through the regional manager, no support or help whatsoever from the Bloomsbury TA shop. Worst shop ever. read more
