Price/quality (2/4): I ordered a sirloin burrito. While it was flavorful, there were lots of chewy bits in the meat, which shouldn't have been there. Maybe my experience would have been different if I ordered something else, but the sirloin burrito was quite lackluster. The meat should have been better. OH M G ! Let me start with 1O/1O. I would recommend for a quick bite to eat and I will definitely be back! This may look like a whole in the wall and it is lol but this joint has the best tacos and quesilldas, ever. HANDS DOWN. I mean this is coming from someone that travels the world for work and eats out weekly around the world ( I am a flight attendant ) Anyway, the menu is small but every single bite burst with freshness and flavor - truly like any other tacos I have ever eaten. Tacos here are amazinggggg! Come for the al pastor. This place is in close proximity to all the happening clubs in "Zona Hoteleria". They are mainly patio seating, so you can people watch while munching down on some tacos! The price points are very reasonable, especially considering that you are right in one of the most touristy areas of Cancun. Takito doesn't open up until late, and as a result you can get a pretty... drunk crowd. That's neither here nor there, but just be on the lookout. Once you get yourself comfortable everything is gravy, and the tacos can flow freely. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? The tacos at Takito are very small, very very small, as in, you can easily put away ten if you're hungry, but they're only $0.80 each, which is a pretty good deal for this part of town. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? The pastor tacos are the only ones you should be getting. Don't bother with anything else and you'll be very impressed with the quality of the pastor, the peripherals, and especially the salsas. I had to get the menu and add it up in front of him on my phone before he would admit I was right. I will never eat here again. Go to Tacos Rigos instead. We ate here twice on our vacation.The gentleman that seemed to be the owner was very nice and chatted with us both times more the second visit since we got there right when they opened. They were very attentive to our needs and explained the hot sauces and gave their recommendations for the menu. Very authentic little stand right across from Coco Bongo so lots of people watching to do while you eat. My recommendation get an Al Pastor Burrito add fresh onion cilantro and pineapple to it and use both hot saucesxif you can take a little heat. This is actually a really nice "al pastor" taco stand right in the middle of the Cancun strip. The seating area is small and the wait sometimes long, but besides that, the food is quite good, especially for being sandwiched between a bunch of American chains. 1) Even if you are doing takeaway, be prepared to wait. We waited 15 minutes for a table and then almost 20 minutes more for our food. The seating area is small, but there are also a lot of "to-go" orders, and they can only make everything so quickly. However, we took it as a good sign that the place was packed, including with people that were likely locals such as taxi drivers and hotel workers. Be aware, the seating is all outside, and not covered, so if it rains, you will likely get wet! 2) There are quite a few choices on the menu, but you would really be missing out if you didn't order the main attraction, pork tacos (al pastor) from the rotating spit near the front of the patio. The tacos were very good: not the absolute best I have had in all of Mexico, but, so far, the best I've had in Cancun. The sauces were also quite enjoyable (the red sauce is smoky-sweet and the green pretty spicy). 3) Prices for the tacos were good, but be aware, drinks are a bit of a rip-off, and they will add a tip (propina) to your bill, so don't tip twice! Stay away if you don't want to be ripped off..... had dinner there, it was ok - nothing special. When it came time to pay (cash only btw), I paid with US dollars and the extremely shady waiter brought me pesos as change. I asked him for USD bc I knew he was trying to steal money from me. By giving me the incorrect change in pesos, it left me without enough cash without having to give him another $20 only for him to bring me back more incorrect change. So, i refused to do that. He threw a fit and still wouldn't give me change in pesos. I should add that the check has a "total amount" and then a "suggested amount" which is the amount if you leave a tip. He actually forced us to pay the suggested amount. Anyway, he then told some old {grumpy} lady who i guess is the manager or his mom, i don't really know honestly. She was just as shady. She was being aggressive and rude saying we need to pay more money. She then says "we don't take US money here"..... with a confused look on my face, i say "we just paid in USD". She then tried to tell the also corrupt police that we left without paying. I stood my ground and refused to give them more USD and be stolen from.... soooo, then I say that I will go to the currency exchange ladies to exchange it for pesos. I'm told by the ladies that they can't because I left my passport in my hotel room. Lol, so to add more on to the corruption, the shady waiter walks over to them and then magically I am allowed to exchange money. This last part is the best.... THEY GIVE ME 4 OF THE FAKEST $2 BILLS THAT HAVE EVER EXISTED....... so, i gave one to him for the little amount of money we {didn't actually} owe. From the restaurant to the police to the currency exchange ladies are all corrupt. It's ridiculous. And, I have informed the US Consulate of this already. read more

Do not eat at this place!!! The food was not good, the salsa was gross. It was more sweet than spicy and when I asked one of the staff for a different salsa he told me that's all he had and walked off when I saw bottles of a different salsa being used. We were looking for a good street tacos and we landed here. I actually thought we checked into Señor frog's because it's right outside, adjacent to the sign (see photo). Nevertheless, it was not a disappointment. Their beef tacos are great but the chicken gringa is even better. Their hamburger is not really a wow but it's satisfying. This place has aaaamazing tacos al pastor!! The service is good but the tacos make up for some of the servers lack of service. They only accept cash so be prepared with US dollars or MX pesos. I would not suggestion any of the agua frescas since they come in water bottles that are already open. Either bring your own beverage or order a canned drink. Their food in general is really good!! The way they season their Meats is out of this world!! The food is the only reason I'm giving this business a 5 star. They are in the heart of downtown Cancun (zona hotelera) and are open all day everyday. Some of the restaurants/bars say they can take the tacos to you, but you pay more, beat to eat there and then go bar hopping. A must try when in downtown Cancun!! read more

I really liked the tacos here. They are authentic mexian tacos. The pastor was so good. We ordered 3 tacos each and because we were drinking we had to order 3 more. They are small so even though it seems like a lot it really wasn't. They serve you really fast, it's outdoor and they're not open early. I think they cater to the night crowd. Really good! This is a street side outlet right across the street from Hard Rock Cafe in hotel zone. While eating a burrito, a filled water bottle was thrown on us with full force that smashed on our plate and missed the face. The outlet staff, then played it down by trying to make us look like liars, and not even apologized or offered anything to clean all the mess on our hairs and clothes. We no longer feel safe eating at that outlet, and specially when the staff has no decency to at least stand with us, rather than portraying us as liars. Food was pretty bad too. read more
