After arriving at the office and being told they had no record of the appointment, I pleaded with the receptionist to allow me to see a doctor due to the size and area of the abscess. They were able to get me in. Dr. Caspary said he thought it may be Masitioditis (which can be life-threatening) and that I would need to come back the following day for a CT Scan that would be done in office. I am currently traveling and the office was outside my insurance network so I had been paying upfront. The office said they would call me the next day and let me know the price of the CT Scan. They gave me the price of the CT Scan and scheduled the appointment. Since they mentioned it would be done in office, I had assumed they would also read it in office. When they did not read the CT and sent me home (the abscess has not gone down, there were no additional antibiotics given) I went back in and pleaded again to the receptionist that I would like to see the doctor, that I did not know what to do, and was afraid. At this point, it was suggested I consider going to the ER or make arrangements to go to the ER. Dr. Caspary did not come in the room and instead sent his medical assistant. I ran home to grab a bag for the ER, I lose hearing in my ear and it begins draining. I rush to the ER. I call Dr. Caspary's office at 4:45 to request that the CT Scan be sent to the ER knowing they will need them. The answering service says they cannot connect me to the office. I hang up. Once I arrived at the ER, they immediately took me back, started new rounds of antibiotics, run additional CT Scans, flushed the ear and made me feel safe. Dr. Caspary's office did not follow up with me until days later (after I had already called their office to schedule the follow up). During follow up with Dr. Caspary's office, I let him personally know that I felt the care I was given was less than acceptable. His response was to the effect of, "yeah, I don't know." At this point, all I want to do is make sure I am okay and leave the office. I will say Dr. Caspary did seem more concerned after this and gave me great care from this point on. After my last appointment, I spoke with the office manager who apologized for my experience. I felt that since I was self-pay and had to have the imaging redone - that I should have my money refunded for the CT scan that was done in office. She said she would get back to me and did not. This was at the end of May. I am fine now and continued about my life and had decided to just move on. Then I received a bill from a radiologist for $1200. The office never informed me that they would be sending the radiology report out - just that it would be done in office. The also never disclosed I would be charged separately for this. When I called to find out why, I was told this is normal and that there was nothing they could do. The care I was given at Dr. Caspary's office of Head & Neck Associates of Bay County was neglectful, unfair, and unacceptable. I sincerely hope no one else ever has to go through this type of experience.

A Disgrace to all MDs…read more This doctor Amer Malik lied to me & discriminated against me, just like his staff did. The final act this practice did to me was to lie yet again and then call my husband names. They claimed a letter from a specialist was missing key language they needed to fill out a form for me to keep my job, but they refused to give me a copy of the letter the specialist sent. I got copy of that letter and the language Malik's woman "Fatima" said was missing was in fact in the letter. The doctor had what he needed but lied, intentionally, which has cost me my job, my home-he waited until the 11th hour. Malik-your trifles with insurance manipulation which you openly brag about in front of patients.. good luck w that. But with me- You crosse a line, medically, ethically, and in many other ways. And having your receptionist come outside as if high, screaming profanities at my husband and referring to him as a woman actually captures YOUR true character, and hers. Complaints incoming. No issues…read more I had a medical emergency requiring surgery and extended antibiotics so I cancelled eye surgery. Called to reschedule in May and was told that another exam was required because too much time had past. Ok seemed reasonable. 2nd appt May 29th. Complete exam. Only now I had astigmatism in both eyes which requires additional surgery to correct at an additional cost. 1st eye scheduled for July 14th. 45 days after my exam. Unfortunately I had another medical emergency and had to cancel my eye surgery again. I started calling to reschedule the last week of july, which is when I would have been getting my 2nd eye done. Keep having to leave messages. Then finally last week someone answered the phone and said oh they don't get the messages if they're not here that day so I had to call a different city office to get my surgery rescheduled. During the call she informed me that I had to go back for another eye exam and I was like it's only been 2 months and surgery orders are only good for 45 days. WHAT??? YOU WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN GOTTEN TO MY 2ND SURGERY WITHIN 45 DAYS BECAUSE THATS HOW LONG IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BEFORE THE 1ST FRIGGING SURGERY. So I said that was ridiculous and why during the scheduling for the other 2 visits was I never informed there was a 45 day limit. Of course no answer. So today for the 3rd time in 7 months I with a severely damaged right ankle have driven 160 miles round trip because I have a hard time getting help with driving. So I get there and go through the first 4tests. Then in exam room she's pulling out eye drops and I asked her if they were going to dilate my eyes and she said yes. Then I said oh no. I have to drive 80 miles. Why the hell was I not informed that a driver would be required before you subjected me to 3 days of EXTREME PAIN AS A RESULT OF DRIVING and she says you'll have to reschedule. I left and told them as I was leaving that I wouldn't be back because I've never ever been so poorly informed about things that COST ME IN A DOCTOR'S OFFICE. I ALSO TOLD THEM NOT TO BOTHER BILLING MY INSURANCE BECAUSE I WOULD DENY IT. I left. I also called my insurance company on my long drive home and they assured me that they wouldn't be able to bill it and if they tried the insurance company would let them know that they wouldn't get paid because they had no new doctors notes or diagnosis code for the visit. Read this again and tell me how the 45 day rule works. Seems like it only works when it's in your billing departments favor otherwise both eyes would have to be pre scheduled within 45 days. I can't stand it when information is withheld by the people I'm paying on purpose just to pad the bill.

When I called to ask why I hadn't heard back, I was told that it was my responsibility to call them to follow up. Completely unacceptable. The staff were rude and unhelpful, and their communication skills are awful. To make things even worse, my neurologist -- the one who ordered the MRI -- is now refusing to review it herself and is instead having a physician assistant do it. What's the point of seeing a specialist if they won't even look at your results? Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that actually cares about their patients and knows how to communicate.

They have an in-house ultrasound tech. My PA was wonderful- I wish I remembered her name. Very informative and helpful. The office offered my snacks and beverages while I waited.
