We have taken our dog Genny to this vet office since we adopted her in September 2023. Ever since…read morethen, we have experienced serious issues with this vet office, with the exception of one veterinarian, Dr. Stephanie Wishko. For some reason, it's this vets policy to take your pet out of the room for vaccines. My dog is a reactive breed, and she's very anxious around people she doesn't know. That anxiety only got worse after we started going to this vet. Over time, our dog has become more scared of people she doesn't know. Every time she goes to the vet, it gets worse. The worst incident we experienced was about 10 months ago. We took her in for a regular visit, and she needed a vaccination as well. As soon as we brought her into the room, the tech and the vet (not Dr. Wishko) brought her immediately to the back where we weren't allowed to go to give her the vaccine. All we could hear was her yelping and trying to scurry away and you could hear people in the back say "hold her tighter." When she came back in, they were practically dragging her on her leash back into the room with us, now muzzled. We were trying to talk to her the way we usually do to calm her down, telling her it's okay (not baby talking). They physically picked her up to go on the table (which CAN be lowered so she can practically walk on by the way) and when they picked her up she pooped herself, she was shaking so hard you could visibly see it from further away, drooling (she never drools unless she goes on a really long walk or is ran super hard.) Then the vet has the nerve to say "your dog is clearly anxious," as if we didn't know that. We told him we give her CBD from an all natural pet store and he abruptly interrupted us and said "no no CBD doesn't work. Only medication does." But we love our dog so we heard him out. He said he would give us samplers of 2 medications so we can try them (we were charged $10 for each) and that we would have to "keep coming back to try new ones", essentially paying $10 each time. She was traumatized. The vet was also a man that did this to her. She now has an issue around any new man, which is difficult for my fiancé when he wants to invite friends over. You may think it's not fair for me to attribute this behavior just to the vet, but that's what brings me to Dr. Wishko, the only vet that actually heard us and respected Genny's boundaries. She and the tech that was with her gave us a muzzle and left the room so we could put it on her. When they came back in, she spoke very softly to Genny, didn't push her boundaries. She lowered the table to her height, with the tech being extremely gentle with her too. Complimenting her when they finished something, petting her head softly too. To our surprise, Dr. Wishko was so gentle that she was able to remove Genny's muzzle to check her teeth better and EVEN GET A LICK from her. Genny NEVER does that to strangers. Well, Dr. Wishko told us she has a German Shepard at home (one of Genny's breeds) and that she understands that some dogs may take extra patience and care because they are naturally reactive. Her care was the only reason we brought her back a few weeks later for her second vaccine round. This week, we brought her in and a tech came and took her leash from us to bring Genny in the back room again for the vaccine. My fiancé asked if we could go into the check up room at least because we were able to before. They said no and that it was "against policy to do vaccines infront of parents." We complained to the receptionist on the way out and she said the same and that "she seemed to do fine today." We used CBD today so that vet from before was clearly wrong, and she was still shaking so aggressively petrified of what was going on. My dog, and everyone's pet for that matter, deserves to be loved and treated with respect, have their boundaries respected, when going to the vet. The vet can be really scary to any pet, but especially reactive breeds. We will be going elsewhere now. But if you do decide to go to Suburban South, ask for Dr. Wishko.

I really hate to do this because I know it's not easy to run this place. I got scammed so hard by this place and I got ripped off so blatantly that I don't have any choice but to leave them a one-star review. So here I go. I paid a couple of hundred dollars to have several cats fixed. I came here because it was the cheapest and because I don't have a lot of money. Big mistake. They did not fix any of the cats because they said that the cats had diarrhea. They said that on the paperwork, it clearly stated if the cats had diarrhea they would not be fixed, and no refund would be given. Fair enough, right? Wrong. Not fair enough because (a) only one of the cats had diarrhea (according to the woman I picked them up from, who had a big mouth and obviously wasn't supposed to tell me this little tidbit), yet none of the cats were fixed and no refunds whatsoever were given. More infuriatingly, (b) when I came to check the cats in I specifically said to the woman that the one cat has had diarrhea on and off and that sometimes she has it and sometimes she doesn't - but generally not. She said it was no problem at all and she would make a note of it on the form but it wouldn't stop her being fixed. Repeat: it would not stop her being fixed. She specifically asked if she had diarrhea all the time or if it's just once in a while and I correctly answered that it was once in a while. No problem she said. Nothing to worry about she said. I was called later in the day to pick up the cats and they had not been fixed. And here is where it gets really ugly. I was told on the phone all the cats had diarrhea, so none had been fixed. I asked would I get a refund. She told me to talk to whoever signs them out. When I picked them up, the same lady that told me only 1 of the cats had diarrhea, also informed me that "the reason I could not get a refund was not specifically the diarrhea, but because they had to do all sorts of other things to the cats" - which we did not ask them to do, did not authorize them doing, which we did not approve of them doing, and worst of all, which we did not require them to do, because some of the shots they were given *had* *already* *been* *done* as the paperwork indicated! Anyway the point of the extras was so they could keep our money. I mean, I'm not stupid, but apparently they think I am. So instead of refunding the money for not fixing the cats because they said the cats had diarrhea (which they probably got from the form where the woman wrote down that *one cat* had sometimes had diarrhea but not constantly and not lately, while assuring me they would be fixed and it wouldn't be an issue, otherwise I wouldn't have damn well left the cats there and paid, would I), but they wanted to keep that money so they did some random stuff to the cats (some of which we didn't want, other stuff that had already been done, and other stuff that was already scheduled for somewhere else), and charged us for it without asking us and then couldn't give us the money back but offered us $20 us $20 out of nearly 200 as a credit. What a fun coincidence, then, that the stuff they did to the cats was *just enough* to keep all the money I'd paid to have them fixed, but without actually fixing any of them. Ugly, ugly stuff. In any other business this sort of thing would be so shady that the BBB would have had them shut down already but when you're dealing with cats nobody really wants to take care of cats and there's no really good cost-effective ways get cats sorted out so some are able to basically rip people off. We charge the least, but we'll keep your money even if we don't do what we say, and we'll lie about it. Fun. They're doing a good service but they're also robbing people blind, I had heard 2 others tell me similar issues with OP, and emplored me to pay 5 times as much and go to a top notch vet, and I assumed it was just the usual drama and I would be fine and it would work out. It didn't. So, they kept my money. More fool them. I have a lot of friends and people come to me for advice, especially in WNY - probably hundreds of people a year regarding cats because of my history with cats in WNY - and I'm telling everybody what Operation Pets did to me. The rest of the cat story? I took them to my usual vet in Batavia and paid twice as much and they were fixed with no problems whatsoever. I'd rather pay twice as much and have the stuff actually done. Wouldn't you?

City Creatures is the sister facility to All Creatures on Transit Road. A friend of mine had…read morerecommended we go to All Creatures, and when we were there my Mother had commented that she wished AC was closer. The staff told her that they had a city branch (City Creatures) on Delaware Avenue, and that the vets treated at both locations. CC is incredibly close to her house, and she loves the fact that she doesn't have to drive on Transit. I made our appointment online, and selected the sick option when it asked why I was making the appointment. I received a phone call about 5 minutes after making the appointment, from one of the techs. She said they were just about to close, and when my appointment popped up in the system, she noticed I'd written that my dog was a little lethargic. She said she wanted to make sure that she was okay, or if we needed to come in earlier? This in itself was amazing to me, because our old vet never did anything like this. I was recently there with our Saint Bernard, Sweet Pea, and while it's smaller than AC, it's very clean, isn't smelly, the staff are very polite and the vet we met with is incredibly nice. The scale is right in the waiting room, which is a plus and a negative. My dog happens to be slightly dog aggressive, so when a puppy was brought into the waiting room to be weighed, she became a little upset. But it wasn't anything bad, because there are two waiting areas, so once the dog went over to the other side, my dog was fine. The room we went into was a little small, but then again, everything feels small when you have a 120 lb dog. We had questions about a procedure she needs done, and the vet answered all of our questions. They gave us a price estimate and reviewed it with us. We are very happy with them.
