Sometimes you need an alternative to the big corporate hardware in Boulder or even to the big local hardware/everything store in Boulder. And if you live in south Boulder (I don't) there is a real convenience factor here. But sometimes you need alternative choices on merchandise, or quick in and out convenience if you are in this shopping center for some of their local treasures like Sweet Cow or Lucky's or Neptune or Kim & Jakes or Pharmaca and you think of something else and this store will save you a separate trip. I saw something on their outdoor display area when I was leaving Lucky's and went in to check it out. It was what I had thought about to solve a yard problem, it was on sale and worked out well. The owner was there, he's had the store for about 10 years he said and I thought it was greatly improved since it's days in the 80s and 90s as Rad Hardware. read more

I don't normally shop here even though we live pretty close to it. McGuckin just seems to have everything in stock and their service is beyond this world. But since I found out Table Mesa participates in the Boulder S.O.S. Retail program (the city is providing a bonus gift card matching what we pay for) and I heard they have Xmas trees so I decided to give it a shot. The headache began when I tried to pay for the tree with these gift cards. The employee who was helping us suddenly grew suspicious when I mentioned this program and said he had no idea how to redeem these gift cards. Then another employee, Bryce, came to our rescue! He is pleasant and patient. He made phone calls when the gift cards was declined and figured out how to make it work! We will definitely come back to shop here if all the employees are helpful and nice like Bryce! read more

This place is an invaluable gem to the local neighborhood! They have saved us so many times when we needed quick lightbulbs, brooms, carpet cleaners, screwdrivers, screws, hammer, packing tape, glue and it seems everything else. Their knowledgeable, friendly staff is excellent at suggesting how to solve problems such as building , electrical, plumbing, etc. Jay, the owner, is very friendly, conscientious and runs a superb "ship." I love having a kind of old fashioned Mom & Pop small hardware store right in our neighborhood. They're always helpful and friendly. I agree with the positive comments made already. Prices are occasionally higher than a big box store... but hey! Who wants to shop at a big box store, if not absolutely necessary?! I certainly don't. If you want a mountain of selections, then you will have to go elsewhere... as it's not a big store. However, if you want just "normal" stuff, old-time friendly/small town, this is it. I can't say enough good things about this hardware store. I think the real test is when you make a return. Unfortunately, I had to bring something back because it just didn't work properly. I didn't have my receipt but I did have my credit card statement. The manager and the clerk could not have been more helpful and more eager to make it right. It's a great local store to shop at and you get reliability, friendly service, and a wide array of excellent products. Totally satisfied! And one more thing that shows what a class act this place is: The entire parking lot area of table Mesa shopping center has been in the process of being re-done for a couple of months which has to have a negative impact on the businesses. But this store has a sign outside thanking all of the workers for their hard work. You guys are the best! read more

This is by far my favorite store in Boulder. I am a contractor and spend a lot of time in hardware stores. I prefer to give my business to smaller locally owned shops. Table Mesa has ordered me materials that you can buy at the big box store, but Table Mesa's quality and the customer service always surpasses the other stores. The prices are actually very competitive too! If I am ever puzzled by a project or have a problem, Jay normally has a solution. You can't beat the feeling of a mom and pop hardware store, makes me feel like I am back in the midwest. read more

In a world of have-everything stores that somehow can never meet your needs this hardware store manages to do a better job. It was good as Liberty Hardware and is better now as Table Mesa hardware. It's a smaller store so they have to focus their inventory on what people actually need. 9 times out of 10 I come here and get exactly what I need and I'm out the door in 5 minutes. Much faster than making the trek to Home Depot and way less hassle. read more

Steer clear! This store is extremely over priced and many of their items are dollar store quality. The last straw for me was paying $55.00 for a mop during the Boulder flood. I live right around the corner from this store but will go anywhere else, including the big box retailers. read more

Hardware is priced higher than the other stores in town so you are paying for convenience and the staff is generally helpful. However, my experience has been that even basic home maintenance stuff either isn't ever stocked or is out of stock, and I end up driving north to the green or orange stores instead. It's a shame because I'd pay for convenience but it's been largely a waste of time. read more
