I have taken Spanish classes here for about 4 months. Lincoln, the owner of the institute, is my…read moreSpanish teacher. Lincoln can speak a bunch of different languages and makes the class really fun and easy to learn. He teaches with strict grammar, so he's ensuring that we are learning properly. I learn best with hands-on methods, so in-person classes work best for me. The classes at AIL are in-person, with the option to join virtually, if necessary. The class materials can all be found in the ortal, which has proven to be a very helpful resource. I absolutely recommend Atlanta Language Institute if you learn well in-person. They offer many languages, too!

I'm currently enrolled in my 2nd course of Portuguese at AIL. As an educator, I'm impressed and…read morehappy with the relaxed yet structured classes. Each student is challenged to their own ability level, but in a way that is beneficial for the entire class. They take a practical approach to teaching + learning where all the prompts, responses, and casual conversations that are naturally spoken throughout the class, are both typed and recorded so we're able to listen and/or watch the videos to review, as well as print or save the .pdf of notes. This genuine environment has created classes of students that are dedicated to learning and supporting one another and have a lot of fun in doing so! I encourage you to contact them and try out a class since you're reading this review!

Ahsan is fantastic and I highly recommend working with him if you'd like to learn Spanish or…read moreGerman. The graded reader method works well for high absorption and retention, since it's all about recognition through reading. We read short stories (each about 50 pages in length), that focus on the repetition of an increasing number of words, depending on the level or grade of the book. For example: level one books have about 400 words, level 3 has 1,000 words, level 5 books have about 2,000 words. This method helps you learn these words through repetition. I am taking my third Spanish session with him and I've learned so much- I am now recognizing more vocabulary when I see it elsewhere. He teaches small classes (up to 6 people) and also offers private sessions in person or virtually. He is very flexible with scheduling, so if you are considering learning Spanish, give him a call. Conveniently located off I-285 in Sandy Springs. Ample free parking.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the classes at the language institute of Georgia. I had taken Spanish as…read morea teenager in high school... but it has been 30 years since then! This was the perfect way to reacquaint myself to the language and an even better way to become proficient. The style of teaching is different than any I've ever experienced, where memorization was the main methteaching vehicle. The graded readers immerse you immediately into the language and as you read, you begin to naturally integrate vocabulary, grammar and sentence structure. I recently visited Mexico and was so pleased, and surprised, at how much I could understand -once I asked people to slow down. Mas despacio, por favor. Bottom line: this method works and the more you read, quite simply, the better you become.
