I've moved from here & can't be more happy - one time I was locked out because the electric locks on the front door failed/battery died. Tacara charged me a $300 lock out fee for someone to open the front door after hours. In the entire time of living at Tacara and signing multiple 12 month leases, I was never ensured of or provided with a KEY to my front door, they only gave me a FOB. I definitely take some accountability here in how I could've avoided this situation, but it doesn't take away that this is the service and management that you will get here - POOR!!! read more

This place is SO dirty-I lived here for a year and moved out last month and have been meaning to write a review. The grounds are FILTHY. People let their dogs crap everywhere and there's no consequences for that; so many other complexes have poo-prints, a system for busting irresponsible dog owners. They never clean or power wash anything...instead, one of the maintenance guys can be found driving his golf cart all day long wearing a mask by himself. I would give this place ZERO STARS if I could! I had to fly back from Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic cutting my trip 3 days short to take my son to the Doctor because he became ill. My mother 70 years old who was staying at the apartment and her car was registered, I did it myself. Her vehicle was towed! My son came down with bronchiolitis and my mother was stranded at the apartment because the car seat that we have for him was towed 30 minutes away. When she asked about the car at the apartment the person at the desk stated a vehicle had never been registered under my apartment. Which is completely false I have registered 3 cars! They have changed their visitors parking rules multiple times in the past few months. I don't know how they get away with this.. Apparently the manager at the time who is now the area manager put letters on everyone's door by hand herself (highly doubt) about all the changes. After keeping my cool going to the office and attempting to work something out it was above the heads of the current office staff.. We asked the office to reimburse us through rent because this is absolutely ridiculous. Brittney Harris The area manager is probably one of the most inconsiderate people I've ever had the displeasure in speaking with. I did finally lose it and cursed at Brittney, did it make me feel better? No. She obviously doesn't care about the well being of people at the apartment. Had zero compassion about my son. I waited 4 days for my washing machine to be fixed. They told me they can't get anyone to fix the bug problem and I have a giant cockroach in my apartment. I'm 6 months pregnant and nervous the bug will get into my baby's crib in the night waiting for someone to come kill it. The manager Sierra stole my mail out of the lockers and told me she threw away my groceries because she thought I "moved out" even though I had just moved in. read more

Tacara is a nice, clean and safe complex with beautiful views of the lake. The staff, especially Hannah and Alex, were super helpful and friendly. Maintenance is quick to respond to any requests I ever had. This is one of the best apartment complexes in all of Austin. After moving out and moving to another apartment I want to update my review. I am more appreciate of the parking situation than I was before. Yeah it's annoying to have to be towed or get a parking permit, but it's also much worse to have to walk a football field distance from my car to my new apartment. I do think this place needs to have their policies more concrete and not changing as often. It made things very confusing and the residents not as informed. Okay, so I rarely write reviews on ANYTHING, but I am doing this to hopefully be helpful to anyone new moving to the area. Like you, when I look for a new apartment, I go straight to the reviews. I am a single 25 year old women so choosing a place to live is a tedious task because let's be real, the most important thing to me is I want to feel safe where I live. I moved in October 2019, and can honestly say that my experience here has been absolutely wonderful! The complex is tucked away on the edge of a hill and is very quiet. The surrounding Steiner Ranch area is very "put together", clean, and safe. The complex sits below a church and there is an elementary school right across the street. There is also a nice restaurant and grocery store within walking distance. Since the complex sits on the edge of the green belt, there are also TONS of walking and hiking trails near by. Oh and did I mention the sunsets over the lake??? Best views in Texas! As far as the people who live here, there are a lot of different kinds. We have young people and couples with children as well (young - middle school aged). We have a very socially active community here where we have get togethers and events at the pool area (which I may say, the pool area is TO DIE FOR...we have an infinity pool with great views over the lake). I love this because you can choose how socially active you want to be. My neighbors are VERY nice and everyone here looks out for each other. Everyone is genuine and respectful. I've never lived anywhere like that before....usually you don't even know who your neighbors are... Another thing I would like to touch on is the maintenance staff. This complex was completed in 2018 so these building are brand spankin new! I have not once had a maintenance problem (except for the time my garbage disposal got stuck and my neighbor came to help me turn it). As far as bugs, etc., I have not seen a single bug in my house!! I also especially appreciate the valet trash service they offer here, it's definitely a perk. I do see maintenance and ground crew everyday riding around the complex constantly doing anything they can to make our community look even better! They really care about the complex and are very nice. The staff here is not afraid to spend the money to improve our community and are always trying to make it look better. They just spiffed up the landscaping making it very aesthetically pleasing. The front office staff here are amazing! Tiffany, the assistant manager, is the kindest person I've met here since I moved to TX. She is always open to listen to suggestions to improve our community (most all suggestions are acted on) and truly cares about the complex and it's residents. She is always honest and has become good friends with a lot of us here at the complex. It seems like she loves her job and cares very much about how happy we all are living here. I don't think I'll ever find that at another complex ever again. Sierra works at reception, and likewise is a genuinely kind human. She is always so helpful and understanding and has also cares about the complex. She lives here! So of course, she cares about our community...it is hers as well. I swear I looked at over 15 complexes before I moved down here... from the Domain area, Arboretum area, Downtown, Bee Cave, etc and this was BY FAR the best place I found. Rent was actually cheaper than most places I looked and the amenities are to die for! I knew when I walked in that this was it. The community is kept up very nicely (no trash laying around), the staff was welcoming and caring, it was quiet, and the views were amazing. I took all reviews when looking for a place to live very seriously. Trust me, I know how stressful it can be. I just hope this is helpful in making your choice to visit. I had an awful experience here. It's dirty and the management people were really rude to me.

I applied for an apartment here the week before the 4th of July and was told they could get me the keys by the weekend. They ended up completely ghosting me. I've emailed, called, and shown up to the office several times. Either they don't pick up, or the woman I need to speak with is not available and they'll "call me back in 30 minutes." They stole money for an application fee and just left me hanging. Even if there were to deny my application, they should still obligated to give me a heads up in a timely manner. read more

The A1 unit bedroom walls are next to the stairwells. This place was poorly built and you will hear every neighbor that uses the stairs, 24/7. Hannah ignores emails from tenant's. All around, a really bad place to stay if you value your health. The other reviews about this place being dirty are absolutely true as well, I had to run my vacuum over the small carpeted bedroom space at least 5 times to get up all the dog hair from the previous tenant. They attempted to repaint the baseboards before I moved in, but didn't line the walls, so it looks super messy, paint on the wall and ground. Finally getting around to write this review after settling into my new apartment. We lived at Tacara Steiner Ranch for about a year and a half and from day one we deeply regretted our decision to move into this community. I can clearly remember the day we toured the complex, everything was beautifully landscaped, they had a great front office staff, and the model apartment was beautiful. We were assured our unit would look like the model time and time again, and eventually we decided we want to make Tacara our new home. This is when the nightmare started... our move-in date was moved back 4 months and upon moving in we quickly realized that our building (building 10) had obviously been completed in a hurry with little regard for the fact that people were paying good money to live there. The day we finally got the keys to our unit a maintenance worker drove up to our garage and told us to make sure to mark down all imperfections because the apartments had been built in a hurry. From the day we walked into our new home there was flooring coming up, we had to ask to have the light fixture hung above our dining area, and the second bathroom was missing an entire linen closet. I can overlook imperfection as I know I'm moving into an apartment, but this was beyond imperfections and just disappointing. In addition to the unit not being as promised we soon realized that the community was far from ideal. On many occasions I had seen several people and their dogs almost get hit by speeding cars at the back of the complex - the issue was brought to the attention of the front office staff who never addressed the issue which could easily be solved with speed bumps. Speaking of office staff they were unresponsive to any form of communication whether it be in the form of a call or an email. I understand not responding to a call or email right away, but getting no response at all just showed they didn't care about their residents. I've lived in apartments the whole time I've lived in Austin, my first one was built in 2011 and the one we moved to now was built in 2016, I understand that not everything is going to be perfect because that's apartment living. However, living at Tacara was a nightmare - it honestly may just be a building 10 problem - and I am so thankful that I was able to move into a new apartment that actually feels like home. Tacara has the potential to be a great place to live and I hope they fix all these issues so they can give residents the "luxury" experience they advertise. read more

I have submitted 2 pest control requests for the chronic red ants issues Tacara suffers with. I submitted one 07/06/22 and never heard anything back and it shows in my resident portal as "work completed". The work was never completed. So, I submitted another request 07/28/22 - I never heard anything, check my resident portal and it shows again, "work completed". I still am dealing with red ants everywhere and crawling in from the holes in the baseboard, behind the bathroom mirror, laundry room, bedroom, etc. because the unit was finished so poorly, they have multiple ways to get in. And on top of it, I have dogs and have found them crawling on my dogs. This amongst several other issues is why I wouldn't recommend living here. read more

Don't know why I see these lies on here but that's none of my business, I've loved this place and there have never been any problems with flooring,lighting, ect the maintenance is really on there game and my yard for my unit is always left very nice. Kelly is super helpful and Brittany is the one to go to if you really want something done, both of those lady's do there jobs very well, I have loved living here in a 2b 2b unit with a yard and a beautiful island, I highly suggest moving here if anyone is ever thinking about it the property is super beautiful,ask for Kelly if you are thinking about moving here and want a tour she had us laughing and when me and my fiancé where disagreeing on what we each wanted in a unit she knew which one we would both love. I very much suggest Moving here. AND PS, might want to think that if there's only 2-3 girls in the office a day dealing with everyone calling,wanting tours,wanting to sign or complaining about something it might be a little hard for them to answer you or get back ASAP, just my opinion on that topic,there's enough people living here for it to be stressful read more

The maintenance staff is fabulous and very responsive. Whenever I have any maintenance I have been able to fill out a simple form on the renters portal and Pete comes and fixes it. I am grateful foe the high quality work Pete does and that the management accommodates each maintenance request courteously, quickly and without judgment. I love living in Tacara Steiner Ranch for many reasons. This one is definitely worth mentioning. People tend to underestimate the importance of a great maintenance staff in apartment living. *PSA* When I first toured Tacara the leasing agent at the front desk was nice but also an interesting character. We actually toured apartments that were occupied and surprised a few people with our tour, and they were not happy considering they had complete strangers in the unit. Well we fell in love with the pool and signed a lease. They got rid of that leasing agent and then hired another she was drunk at the front desk and this was a negative encounter being new resident here and I find out days later she was fired because of this. I once interviewed to be a leasing agent for Tacara while I was being interviewed management let me know Tacara has a lot of "problems". This wasn't just about all the outstanding issues which I'm sure we all have, but they also said the residents were spoiled and are part of the problem and working at the front desk is a battle during the interview. I gave them a puzzled look and that's the moment I decided not to work for the company and regretted signing a lease here knowing that my time living at Tacara Stiner Ranch was not going to be a good experience. **Our AGM Tiffany was not a part of this statement she's amazing.** When we moved into building 9 I let them know about the mold that was growing on my bathroom wall. Maintenance came out immediately and spray painted over the problem area we had in the bathroom and said it wasn't mold. I was positive this wasn't an issue at the time and moved on. Then a couple of days later I look up and see mold in all of our AC vents. I notified management and asked them to send someone by to check it out. The guy from "Expert AC" said it looked fine and they would clean it up. No actual test was done so there was no determination if it was mold or not. So I asked the manager at the time not to do anything or to let anyone into the unit till it was tested by her vendor or I could do the test it myself. I specifically wrote in an email "do not let anyone in the unit until a test is done so proper protocol and steps are taken". The next day the Tacara Manager handed the keys to my front door to the "Expert AC" a vendor without an employee present or resident in the unit. During this time they removed the evidence of the mold and let our dogs outside. After "Expert AC" left my unit they forgot to let the dogs back inside and left my dogs outside for hours without water in the heat and left my back door unlocked. This was horrible and made me very upset and made me think they are handing complete strangers keys to my front door and putting me at risk of them possibly making copies of my keys to break in later or stealing from me, the scenarios go on... these vendors do not go through a Pinnacle employee screening process and this puts the company and residents at risk in many ways. Especially if they are handing keys to the units that are occupied to any vendor they hire. When I brought my concerns and worries to management about how poorly this was handled... how giving keys to my front door to non-employees (strangers) is dangerous... and that we felt unsafe in our living environment. Management told me I gave them a lot of "what if's" and ignored every worry I have and told me it was in the past, I should move on and deal with what has happened. read more

Beautiful apartment and property, great management, excellent maintenance response - what's not to love? I don't understand some of the negative reviews I've seen, but I have lived here for several years (in 3 different apartments). I have found our current management, maintenance and everyone else, including front desk, to be helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant. They have a lot of patience, and go way above and beyond what I have experienced at other properties. Yes, no one (including us renters) is perfect, but this is by far the best rental property I have experienced. I was sorry to see some of the negative experiences other people referred to. I owned my own home prior to moving to Austin, and lived in a few other complexes before moving to Tacara, so I'm kind of picky. Kudos to management; they do a great job in dealing with many different people. I really love my current apartment and don't plan to move again. Special thanks to our manager Michael, to the awesome Tiffany, to Sierra at the Front Desk, and to our awesome, caring and capable maintenance staff. You all are greatly appreciated. For those residents who posted that they have had bad experiences here, and for those residents that may not agree with my review, I'd like to see you deal with some of the client demands that I'm guessing our management deals with every day. Don't let the handful of good reviews fool you because the bad reviews I can assure you are not lies. I moved into Tacara Steiner Ranch in September 2017 and was living here when only 3 buildings were up, so I was here since the beginning and signed a 15 month lease. During that time the property was under Sparrow management which was worlds better. Once I renewed my lease I was then informed months after that the property was changing management and it was a disastrous change at that. This property is not taken care of at all, building three is completely trashed from people and children leaving soda cans, food and even just dog feces. People let their dogs use the restroom on the balcony and don't pick it up. People also let their dogs use the restroom in my hallway, as well as a dog has used the restroom on my front doormat and the front office did nothing about it. I along with other neighbors have also contacted the front office more than 10 times regarding our neighbors in building three who just leave their dogs on their patio 24/7 barking at everything. I live above them and cannot even go out onto my balcony because the smell of dog feces is so bad. I've shown pictures to the front office, it's gotten so bad that I even called animal control for neglecting their dogs and allowing them to live in their own feces. This has been going on for months now, and as a resident who has lived here for going on two years just to be told we will take care of it, we will take care of it but yet nothing is happening is ridiculous, when the people that are allowing their dogs to use the restroom in places they clearly should not, only get a slap on the wrist and have moved in here way after me. There are still a few residents here that are on the same page as me and that are respectful, but majority of the original people that live here have all moved out due to issues that I am all speaking about. Don't even get me started on how fast they built this property and it clearly is shown because there is no insulation anywhere. I am on the top floor and can hear the people below me where they are exactly in their apartment at all times, every door they close, I can even hear some of their conversations that's how thin the walls are. Along with other reviews I have seen, my apartment has had many issues with the floorboards coming up, my ceiling is cracking in half, i've had to have my washer and dryer replaced multiple times and don't get me wrong I've lived in many apartment complexes and I have never experienced such a nice property go so downhill so fast with no one taking any responsibility. I had hope for the new management but at this point I am ready to get out of my lease and get out of here. Go read reviews for Pinnacle management properties and you will see plenty of other people saying the same things that I am saying as well as the google reviews for Tacara. It's sad that this property that I used to call a home was well taken care of and actually a nice community but is now somewhere I dread coming every day after work. read more

Trash is always overflowing. Building 10 was rushed when it was built and you can tell. Scratched floors and sink. Baseboards and front door were damaged. We were promised a brand new unit and this was anything but that. The breezeways are filthy with trash and bugs. They have only been cleaned once in the year and half we have been here. We just signed a second lease. We love this place. Some of the harsh reviews are interesting. There did seem to be a problem with the trash but the management has made continued efforts to deal with it. The problem doesn't start with management though. The problem is rude, inconsiderate people dumping all manner of trash, i.e. mattresses, old furniture etc. around the dumpsters. I live in building 10 and see staff out there multiple times a day maintaining the area. It is much improved. Regarding the dog waste, we are aware that management has received complaints based on emails and community notices. We also, again, see staff working in and around buildings cleaning and performing repairs and maintenance. We knew when we moved in that dogs were allowed. As long as dogs are allowed there will be issues like this. From my perspective the management is constantly addressing what will always be a constant challenge. We don't currently have a dog but are dog people and enjoy seeing them on the property. The responsible pet owners manage the constant challenges of a dog in a apartment community. The irresponsible pet owners do not live comfortably here. They are pressured by their neighbors as well as management to do better. The pool is fantastic. And just like with the pets, the fantastic pool brings significant challenges, mostly that the Steiner Ranch neighborhood sees it as their pool, too. As with the trash problem, I suspect the culprits are not always Tacara residents. We pressure management as much as anyone to monitor the pool and clubhouse facilities. Again, I am sure it is challenging to limit outsider access without limiting resident access. People bitch, but if they lock it up and make residents jump through a complicated process to access it or bring a guest no one will be happy about that either. We have and will continue to demand that they find ways to monitor it. We also work hard to know our neighbors and report to management specific people we know shouldn't be there. I try hard not to bitch about a problem without at least offering a solution. I remember only one weekend the pool was down last year. Pete and the other staff take pride in their work and do a great job, especially considering the heavy use. As far as the quality of building construction and noise, it is an apartment, a shared space. I have certainly lived in many apartments and this is the nicest place I have ever lived. We have had a couple of minor maintenance requests that were resolved quickly. I suppose I could knit pick. I can also load a truck and move. We live in building 10. It is quiet, I have never seen pet waste or noticed odor. I have occasionally heard my neighbors. Never enough to go knock on a door or complain to the office. One of my neighbors banged on their ceiling once because I was watching a ballgame and got a little loud. I quieted down. We love apartment living, we look at other properties all the time. That next great view, great deal, great amenity is no doubt out there. I am not afraid to load a truck. But we really love this apartment and there is nothing going on here that compels us to seriously go looking. read more
